บท 36: Chaos in the city Part - 2

"Speaking aside, what happened to the city to bring it to this state?"

With just those words, the atmosphere in the room changed completely; you could even hear people swallowing dry saliva.

Everyone turned their gazes towards Leon, waiting for what kind of reaction he would have because Leon's subordinates had avoided this topic.

Leon looked away from the window, glancing at Erik, who was waiting for a response.

This action raised the tension in the air, causing Violet and the others in the room to start sweating, except for Erik, who kept his gaze fixed on Leon.

"So, will you answer my question?" repeated Erik.

"..."

Adrian, Violet, and Leon's other subordinates were dumbfounded. He could not believe what he heard and saw; this man spoke disrespectfully to Leon.

However, Leon doesn't care much about how Erik talks to him.

However, how can he not read the tense atmosphere in the place?

Is he wishing for death?

Can't you see Leon is not in the mood?

They looked at Erik with complicated expressions. Because of the disrespectful way he was talking, they didn't know if he was stupid or very brave.

"It's okay. I'll tell you what happened to bring the city to this state," he said. This was very different from what everyone expected, but Leon acted calmly.

"Hey, really, all this silence and tension for nothing?"

Adrian and Irine thought that with all the silence and tension in the place, Leon was 100% going to do something. But they did not expect this reaction from him.

He ignored what his two subordinates said. Crossing his legs, Leon looked out over the city with a cold expression and said.

"Well, this is all because of the Luminis guild..."

This all started about fifteen minutes after Erik and Violet entered the dungeon. The Luminis guild members desperately searched for them, but they found no trace of them in the city.

Luminis Guild.

Brrrrr!

Alexander frowned as his phone rang again. His phone kept ringing loudly as if he was pestering its owner to take the call. As he listened to the ringing repeatedly, the veins popped out of his forehead.

Seriously. they won't get tired of ringing!

Because of the chaos his guild members were causing due to the order he had given.

Alexander Belmonte's blood pressure was so high at that moment that he felt the need to go to the hospital right now.

The culprit was the flood of calls during this short time. When his phone started ringing again, he thought it was an emergency.

"It must be journalists or some presidents of those little guilds."

When all the chaos broke out in the city because of the deaths the guild members were causing, all these calls were a small price he had to bear to make an attribute to his son. When he felt his phone stop ringing, he thought it had stopped ringing.

Brrrrr!

His phone rang again, and Alexander frowned more. He looked at his phone, and it was an unknown number.

Seeing that it was an unknown number, he answered the call because he thought the caller was Leon.

- Mr. Alexander, all the arrangements have been made.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Leon, but I have nothing to do with what is happening in the city."

- Mr. Alexander, are you listening to me?

The person who spoke on the phone was one of his subordinates, who called to inform him that everything was ready, making him realize he wasn't talking to Leon.

"Cough... cough... cough... can you repeat that I was not listening?

- I told you, Mr. Alexander, that all the preparations are finished. We are just waiting for you to give us the order.

A giant evil grin came across his face; now everything was ready to turn the city into hell. Alexander took a deep breath and said in a deep voice.

"Start with the plan.

- Yes, sir!

Alexander ended the call with a big smile; this call completely changed the lousy mood he had a few moments ago.

Rising from his desk, he went up to the rooftop to witness the spectacle that was about to happen.

Standing on top of the rooftop, he lit a cigarette and exhaled the smoke as the breeze gently hit his face.

"Now... you will feel what I felt when I lost my beloved son," Alexander muttered with a lifeless expression.

Once he finished muttering those words...

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Several explosions began to sound throughout the city, creating a great commotion among the civilians and hunters on the streets. After the explosions, monsters of all kinds began to appear in the town.

"KYAAAAAAAAAAAA!! HELP...."

"Kugh..."

"Please, somebody help me!"

"RUN! THEY'RE INVADING THE CITY!!!"

"Mommy! Mommy..."

"Call me quickly to the hunters association!!!"

The city turned into complete chaos in less than five minutes. With the appearance of the monsters, both ordinary people and hunters began to die, staining the streets with their blood and organs.

The monsters were having a great feast, with all the hunters and ordinary people running scared, hoping to survive the chaos sweeping the city.

Alexander watched as people ran in fear and died at the hands of the monsters. Hearing the desperate voices echoing in the air, a crooked smile appeared on his lips.

"Now you feel all the suffering I went through when I realized my son was dead."

At that moment, Alexander didn't care about anything that happened to him. He had lost everything that mattered to him, including his beloved son, who was the only thing his wife had left him.

But now that his son was no longer in this world, he no longer cared about anything.

"It won't be long before the bastards who killed my son will keep him company."

Stretching out his arms in the shape of a cross, Alexander looked up at the sky with a lifeless expression as drops began to fall from the sky.

Alexander, with tears in his eyes and a lifeless look, cried out heavenward.

"Look at my dear son who is in heaven!

"That you died unjustly at the hands of those damned bastards!

"I made you an attribute with the death of thousands of people in this city!

"You can rest in peace now!"

Black clouds began to gather in the sky as if forecasting a heavy storm to come.

However, not a single drop fell from the clouds. They were being loaded with silver lightning that crackled loudly in the sky, illuminating the city momentarily.

CRACK!!!

A vast silver bolt of lightning struck the middle of the city, alerting all nearby living creatures and killing all the monsters in the city.

Focusing his gaze on the spot where the silver lightning had struck, Alexander could visualize that not a single monster was in the middle of the city. The powerful lightning had eradicated them all.

A silver lightning bolt... Alexander sensed that lightning had struck before. He couldn't remember where or when he had seen it, but he felt that lightning bolt extremely familiar. Not recognizing it, he didn't think twice about it.

Brrrr!

Feeling his phone ring again, he answered the call.

- Sir, everything was a success.

"Yes, what I saw was quite a show, and what did you call me for?"

- Sir, we called you to ask you what we should do now that we have finished what you ordered.

"Hmm, come back, all of you, to get ready. As you know, he won't be long. The strongest hunter in the world will come knocking on our door, and not in a nice way."

- Yes, sir, we will return immediately.

Cutting off the call, Alexander only let out a long sigh. Now came the most complicated part, which was facing Leon and his group.

"Well, no matter how strong a Lion is, he won't be able to defeat an entire guild," Alexander snorted.

Because he is absolutely sure that Leon cannot wipe out his entire guild.

Is Leon strong?

Of course, he is!

Alexander did not doubt it. Because it's true, and no one in the world would deny it.

But no matter how strong an individual is, he will never be able to defeat an entire guild composed entirely of B and C rank hunters.

So he was sure he could defeat Leon. With heavy losses, but that doesn't matter to him, he can recruit new hunters, and nurture them again.

However, Alexander didn't know how wrong he was with that thought, that he was ultimately underestimating today's strongest hunter. And that thought would cost him dearly.

Leon appeared shortly after the lightning struck, and Irine checked to see if any monsters had survived.

"You couldn't hold back at least a little!" Said Irine, looking at all the destruction from the attack Leon.

"But I held back quite a bit," Leon replied.

Why he really held back: if he had used a little more force, he probably would have eradicated much of the city center.

That's how strong Leon was. He has the title of strongest hunter, not for nothing if he couldn't do something like this.

After expanding his senses, Leon suggested, "Then let's go; I don't sense anything alive nearby."

Irine assisted, leaving the place.

Seconds later, there was no trace of them being in that place.
