Alex twisted the elf's hand with even more force as he watched the guards approaching. He was already calculating how to win or escape the situation when the empress' hand reached the sky.
Instantly, the guards stopped, sheathed their swords, and raised their spears over their shoulders.
"You can release him already, youth." The empress said, leaning against one of her hands as if bored. Alex stared at her purple eyes and waited a few seconds before releasing the elf, who held his hand and grunted.
"Who do you think you are?" The elf asked in a pathetic voice, and Alex gave one abrupt step in his direction like one does to scare a dog.
The dark elf fell over his own but on the ground, and Alex heard more than one muffled laugh from the guards. He smirked at the pathetic display.
