As Aubrey was wallowing in her misery, her phone rang.

Ring Ring Ring…

"Aubrey…" Came a low, enigmatic, masculine voice.

"Professor Wentworth… Miles… hic hic hic" Aubrey bawled on the phone. She was no longer able to control her emotions. Only now, upon hearing his voice, did she realize how much she missed this man. This person cared for her and valued her, he certainly wouldn't let her feel so depressed and left out like the way she felt right now. She felt so small and unneeded.

The person on the other end of the receiver paused and patiently waited for the sobs to die down.

After a while, Professor Wentworth asked in a concerned voice.

"What happened?"
