"So much for the strength we don't know about," Cael said. "Good for you that we still want our answers."
The Naked Claw shuddered with his entire body, then raised his chin high again. "You mighth kill me, buth your dirthy tricks wonth save you when my warriors come. No one crosses the Naked Claw and lives!"
"What about crossing your neck, asshole?" Ginevra asked darkly.
The Naked Claw grinned. "You arenth strong enough, even with your madshik tricks. I'd kill you, but I don'th wanth to dirty my clawth."
He flailed his hand dramatically, then dashed towards the hidden door with a burst of unexpected speed—only to fall snout-first into the bloodied ground when Cael caught his leg with a Mage's Hand.
The Claw tried to get up and free himself from the invisible bind. He might've even succeeded—the Mage's Hand was not the most powerful spell—if he wasn't clawing at empty air. It looked like The Naked Claw couldn't sense the Mage's Hand at all.
