After the dramatic scuffle with Dieter and his men, it felt strange to not suffer a single attack from him for the entire four days.
But, Cael supposed, the man must've been confident enough in his position to not risk losing more men.
Despite Ginevra's predictions, Dieter didn't slow down. He was traveling steadily ahead, appearing and disappearing from Niko's range of divination as his sled overcharged and was subsequently fixed.
That didn't mean that there weren't troubles in the way of Cael's group—but compared to Dieter's last attack, they were mild.
After the day of peace, the weather picked up again, throwing another blizzard at them, and another. When a lull happened next time, they were attacked by a group of monsters that resembled ice sharks and swam through snow and ice like through water.
They were dispatched easily enough.
