บท 367: No honor among kings

The Frog wasn't the quickest of Ronzio's golems, but its leaps were impressive. It could go over ice ridges, hidden crevices, and didn't even got overcharged once—in the last hour, at least.

Soon, the golem put enough distance between Dieter and his pursuers that they thought against trying to follow. With his mind's eye and magic, Dieter could even hear their conversation.

"We still could've caught up with him." That was Astnar. For all his overall stoicism, the man seeped anger. "You shouldn't have stopped, Cael."

"I know, I know. But without transport?.. That would just tire us out and give him an advantage. That man…" Cael replied darkly, then suddenly turned his face towards the sky. "I'm not done with you yet, Dieter! But for now," he turned to Astnar again, "let's focus on finding the others."
