The first thing Cael did on his return—after resting—was make a surprise visit to Dante. After all, even if Ginevra didn't want to wring the man's neck, after talking with the Void, Cael had even more questions than before.
The Void's servants worked quickly. By the time Cael and Ginevra went to Dante's palace, a squad of people, several of them ejderha, gathered at the entrance. More people were bringing crates, boxes and dead bodies outside.
Dante stood on the opposite side of the street from his entrance, watching the proceedings in grim silence. He barely lifted a glance when he saw Cael and Ginevra approaching him from each side.
For a minute, they all were silent. Although Cael saw plenty of dead bodies in his lifetime, the ones that the Emperor's soldiers brought out still disturbed him, for many reasons.
From the point of view of literally anyone else besides the people at this table (I dont count ejderha as people for the purposes of this sentence :>) mass dragon attacks out of nowhere sound just fucking wild...
