In a lavishly decorated room, sat a gaudily dressed middle-aged man reading the paper in his hand with a serious expression on his face.
The middle aged man was widely known as Monroe Dawson, the chairman of Dawson conglomerate. Dawson conglomerate was the biggest and unrivalled business group in the entire holy union and as such this middle aged man had a lot of authority under his name.
He was also the father of the Yale Dawson, the child standing infront of him. Yale was 10 years old this year and had dignified and elegant features that matched his wealthy upbringing. If it weren't for the miserable and ugly look on his face, he would have made a fairly good impression on anyone looking at him for the first time.
In truth, Yale Dawson was currently going through an existential crisis. He did not know if he was real or imaginary. He did not know if the life he had led untill now was fake or real and thus he had a miserable look on his face.
"Yale! Your admission letter from the Ernst Institute has arrived. You... Why are you making such a miserable face?"
Monroe Dawson asked upon looking at Yale's miserable face. Just a day before, this brat had been in high spirits and couldn't wait to go to Ernst Institute so upon looking at the ugly look on his face, Monroe couldn't help but ask with some worry.
Yale took a deep breath and let out a tired sigh that didn't match his young age.
"I am just feeling a little under the weather."
Yale replied back as his thoughts raced to an uncharted territory.
'A little would be an understatement. I did not expect to transmigrate into a side character of a novel.'
He realised that he was actually a transmigrator. Or to be more exact, he had just remembered the memories of his previous life.
Yale, a heterosexual male, had been a twenty something year-old university student from Earth. He was born to an average middle class family, and spent most of time chasing the millennial idea of ideal life. To summarise, he was a perfectly ordinary person. If one had to point out something that was different about him, it would be that he was practically a weeb. He liked to spend his time reading novels and playing otaku-esque games.
Cough cough, you get it.
This perfectly ordinary guy ended up getting involved in an unfortunate traffic accident. Before he knew it, he had already joined the army of transmigrators venturing to the worlds beyond Earth.
And above all else, he was born as the child of the chairman of Dawson conglomerate in the holy union of Yulan continent.
Had he not known anything at all, Yale would have been more than delighted to be born into a prominent, Richie rich rich house in his second life. That would have meant that he would have had endless money to squander, and he would have been able to do whatever he wanted. But that was only if he really knew nothing at all.
If his memories served him right, Yale Dawson was the friend of the main character, Linley Baruch and did not have good talent as either a warrior or mage. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that his father had pretty good connections with the Radiant church in Holy union, he wouldn't have gotten admitted in Ernst Institute and wouldn't have met the main character.
But this was just the happy prologue before the start of the miserable tale of Yale Dawson; the calm before the storm or bliss before the shit hits the fan. In a few years, he would turn into a puppet of a convict necromancer and would sacrifice thousands of people for that necromancer and after main character would set him free, he would once again be made into a puppet by another god level convict and would be made to kill his own children, wife and family, and ultimately dying a dog's death.
"Then, go and rest!"
Monroe Dawson said after seeing his child's face.
When Yale returned to his room, he held his head in disbelief as he felt his blood pressure rising.
"What the heck!?! Why couldn't I have been born as someone else? Why did it have to be Yale Dawson?"
After going through his memories once again, Yale decided to accept that he had been born as the side character of a novel, 'Coiling Dragon'.
Coiling dragon was the work of a famous author that followed the story of Linley Baruch, a talented youth who would one day become a Universe Creator capable of creating universes.
And Yale Dawson was his friend who would die after being tortured repeatedly, turned into mindless puppet twice, sacrifice millions of people to extract their souls, kill his kin with his own hands and once again brought to life by main character in the middle of main character's long journey.
In short, Yale was screwed.
So screwed that he couldn't help but think of dying once again to escape his fate.
'Aren't the cosmic forces just screwing with me? They even decided to give me memories of the future. Now I can't even enjoy my present knowing the horrors that are going to greet me in my future.'
"C-calm down. It's especially at times like this that I have to calm down!"
Yale took in deep breaths as he tried to use his maturity as an adult to suppress his emotions.
One shouldn't panic in the face of trouble because panicking never works.
'But what can I do? Am I to await my doom just like this'
Fear once again encroached on Yale like a shadow, leaving him feeling utterly frightened. It was then that a crisp bell sounded in his mind.
[Ding!]
It is after a long time that I am writing something. please go easy on me!! and stay tuned. Currently, I am writing chapter 21 and shall be uploading five chapters a week. Currently there are no chapters on p@treon but I will be uploading there as well.
And as for my other fan fics, I have already lost my drive to write them. Though, there is a good chance that I shall start working on them if I get some free time. No promises on that front.
Thank you!!
