On the way back to East Bay, Nidia remained silent in the car.
It was a snowy cold night. Dylan was driving in his black luxury car, whereas Lily took the front passenger seat. They could almost hear each other's breathing as it was so quiet in the car.
Nidia was sitting in the back seat with her head leaning on Jackson's arms and her eyes closed.
Jackson stroked her smooth long hair as he placed his hand on her head.
She still felt groggy and unwell, even though her fever had gone down.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't fall asleep.
She wouldn't stop thinking about his amputated finger.
According to Dylan, Jackson had been a soldier. Basically, he could withstand all kinds of pain and injuries as he had a much stronger physique than those of ordinary men.
<Perhaps that was the reason why he never felt pain easily. Perhaps only when his finger got amputated did, he feels enough pain to stay conscious.>
