Jack took a deep breath and a sip of his coffee. His angry expression transformed into a calm one. Mia knew she wasn't going to like whatever he was about to say. She knew Jack, and all of this was just to remind her that he was in charge here.
"I told you, Mia. I didn't cheat on you with Beth. You misunderstood. Why can't you let this go, Mia? It's been weeks. What do you want from me?"
What was he trying to do? She frowned. The more she got to know this side of Jack, the more she believed he deserved the divorce. She raised her hands and moved back.
"I'm sorry, Jack, but I can't do this with you anymore. I can't stay where I'm not happy."
Jack frowned, moving closer to her with his long strides until he stood in front of her. He tightly gripped her hand, and Mia struggled to free herself, but he was stronger. "What do you mean you're not happy with me? We were just celebrating our two-year anniversary a few weeks ago, and you were happy. Why aren't you happy anymore?"
