บท 19: Ms. Tattle-tale's Redemption
"The next particle presentation group is Nino, Adrien, Max and Alya."
"So, lucky!" I said to my deskmate.
"Why, because Adrien's in it?" She smirked.
"Seriously, Alya? Are you forgetting that Adrien and Max are of the top three students in our class?"
Alya was about to answer, but she was cut off by Miss Mendeleiev. Thank God.
"Then, Marinette, Yin, Chloe and Sabrina." I take back my thanks.
"So unlucky," said Alya as she patted my back.
I groaned.
I turn to my right to see that my best friend had the same thought.
"Uh, Miss? Can you add them to another group? Sabrina work much better on our own." Requested Chloe.
From what I've seen on the show, I think she means Sabrina works much better on her own.
"This is a group presentation, not pairs. Deal with it!" Eat that, Chloe. Oh, wait. She wanted us in another group, which is exactly what Marinette and I want. Dang it. Why was I celebrating?

"Ugh, forget it Sabrina, I don't have time for the stupid project. Besides, now you have Marinette and Yin to help you."
"Oh, that's fine, Chloe. We'll do the work, don't worry!"
Marinette and I were looking for Chloe and Sabrina when we overheard their conversation.
"Who the hell does she think she is? The mayor?" Frowned Marinette.
"She might as well be. The way she bosses her father around is stupider than the idea of the four of us working together," I sneered. "C'mon, we have to get the project done with sooner or later."
"Hey, is everything okay?" I pretended to ask Chloe.
The living bratz doll rolled her eyes. "It's fine Yin."
"Great! Since everything's so fine, you can definitely help us with the project! Let's go to the library then."
"Ugh, I'm not coming," said Chloe, checking her nails.
"Why not?" Asked Marinette, raising an eyebrow.
"It's none of your business, Dupain-Cheng!"
"Actually Chloe, since I'm part of this group, it is." Nice one, Mari.
"It's okay, guys! We can do all the research and the writing for our project, and then, Chloe can present it!" Suggested a cheerful Sabrina. "That way it's equal!"
"What? That's not equal at all!" Protested Marinette. "How long have you two been doing this?"
"Oh, we've been like this since grade school when I started doing Chloe's homework, and we've been BFF's ever since!"
"Do you have a problem with that?" Asked Chloe in a sassy voice.
"Yeah, I do," I said matter-factly. "I can't imagine myself getting treated like this! Sabrina, this is a really toxic friendship. You're not Chloe's BFF, you're her slave! Real friends don't work like this, they care for each other, not dump all the work on them!"
"Well Yin, say whatever you want. But Sabrina is my friend, and not only that, I'm her only friend. So, she should be my slave, because without me, she has nothing!"
As Chloe said these words, Sabrina seemed to have a realization.
"I'd rather be a loner than have to serve someone like you. Think about what we said Sabrina, if you do change your mind, Marinette and I will be in the library.
Sabrina looked like she had just lost a part of herself, almost making me feel guilty for calling her a sidekick all those times. Almost.
I really do hope she comes to her senses though.

"Um, Yin? Marinette?"
I looked up from the notes I was writing and so did Marinette. Sabrina was standing in front of the library table we're using, looking determined.
"I thought about what you said and...I agree with you! I won't let Chloe boss me around anymore, and after this project I'm going to expose her to Miss Mendeleiev so she doesn't get any credit for our hard work! Um, does that sound good?"
Marinette and I exchanged smiles.
"Sounds great!"

"What so you mean you're not doing my part of the project?" Demanded Chloe.
"Marinette and Yin were right! I'm not your slave!" Said Sabrina.
"Go Sabrina," I grinned. She smiled back at me.
"But Yin nor Marinette bought a super cute beret at Gabriel's, but I did! And perhaps I could lend it too you." She swung the beret around with her finger.
"Excuse me, but are you trying to bribe her into staying your friend with a hat?" Ridiculed Marinette.
"Um, a really really adorable hat!" Oh, no. Her defence system is getting defeated by a hat.
"That would look fantastic on me!" Girl, what are you talking about?
Chloe, ignoring Sabrina, said, "Excuse, ME, but you're the one who's trying to steal my bestfriend from me with homework!"
I looked to the area above Chloe's head. If I hadn't stopped Nathaniel just now, a bunch of berets would have dropped on Chloe right now. Kinda wishing I didn't stop it now. Speaking of which, what happened to that akuma?
"Quiet in the library!" Shouted a librarian.
Whoops. We were a little loud, weren't we.
"Chloe, you can't force Sabrina to do something you want with a hat. That's just dumb," I told her. "And if you don't want to help us, you can leave. We'll do the project ourselves, and you're not getting any credit."
"Ugh!" Chloe threw the beret she was trying to bribe Sabrina with on the ground.
"Finally, she's gone. Now let's continue our work in peace."

"Then, we'll do the rest of the project at my place, okay? I'll give you my address by text later, Sabrina. Wait, give me your phone number first."
I held out my phone for Sabrina to type in her number.
"And Marinette, you know how to get to my house, right? You've been there before."
The bluenette nodded.
"I'll see the two of you later then, bye!"
I rushed out of the library. It's not that I have anything to do anyway, I just need to get home in time to tell Chat that he can't stay today.

When I got home, the black cat had yet to come.
I checked my phone. It was already 5 o'clock. We've been in the school library for almost three hours now.
Chat usually visits at half past five, so he should be here in about half an hour.
Marinette and Sabrina will be coming at six or half past six, so I still have plenty of time left.

Where is that cat? It's already almost half past six, and there's still no sign of him.
The girls have already arrived ages ago.
Maybe he's not coming. Yeah, that's probably it. He's Adrien Agreste after all, can't expect him to take time out of his day to visit me. Besides he's probably working on the same project Sabrina, Marinette and I are doing right now with his group.
I don't know why, but I feel disappointed. Very disappointed.
Marinette seemed to have noticed my sad demeanour ask, "Is there something wrong, Yin?"
"Huh? Oh it's nothing," I said, waving it off. The last thing I need Marinette to know is that Chat was still visiting me.
"I understand if you're nervous about exposing Chloe Yin, I've never managed it until I decided that I was going to do it back at the library."
"Oh, yeah. That's it..."
Suddenly, there was a knock on my window. Did Chat decide to come after all?
"What's that?" Marinette carefully asked. I could tell she suspected it was Chat. Oh, boy. Thank god Sabrina's here, the lecture will just have to wait.
"I'll go check," I stood up and opened the window. There was no one there. I could tell that my face fell in disappointment.
"Hey, Silver."
I flinched.
"Chat?" I brightened.
"Miss me?"
"Is that...Chat Noir? Oh my god, it is!"
Oh, I forgot about Sabrina. Whoops.
"Wow! Wait, what are you doing here? Are you visiting Yin?"
"Uh..."
She gasped in realization. "You are! Yin, your friends with a superhero?"
"Yes...? No?"
"This is incredible! Day 1 of no Chloe is already amazing!"
