บท 46: Return to The Original Place
"Woon ..." said Dan Oh in a quiet voice.
She felt like she was in an empty room that was all white. Suddenly there was a dazzling light coming from the front of her. The light grew larger and filled the room making Dan Oh have to close her eyes because of the bazling that blinder her gaze.
"Woon!!!" yell Dan Oh in a very loud voice.
Dan Oh gasped and immediately opened her eyes widely. The girl looked around and found a scene that was very familiar to her. She was inside a room dominated by blue and Pink colors. There was a closet in front of her. In the corner of the room by the window there is a study table on which lined books are arranged neatly near the study lamp beside it. Dan Oh came to her senses and found herself sitting on the bed in her room.
"is it all just a dream?"murmured Dan Oh quietly to herself. Her chest still felt cramped due to the pain caused by the feeling of loss that tormented her. Dan Oh holding her cheeks which was damped with her tears.
The girl then stood up from her bed then walked towards the mirror attached to the door of her closet. She could capture the image of herself in the sleeping pajamas that she always wore every night. Her long black hair seemed a little messy.
"Oh, Dan Oh.... You're not going to school today? Aren't you going to get ready?"suddenly her mother appeared from behind the door of the girl's room wearing an apron. It seems that the mother just finished preparing their breakfast as usual.
"ah... Yes mom... "answer Dan Oh shortly.
"Hurry up, you can be late," said Mrs. Eun before returning to her daily routine of preparing breakfast for her daughter and her husband before they started doing their routine outside the house.
Without many words Dan Oh walked towards the bathroom to clean herself up and get ready to leave for school. After finishing the bath, the girl changed her clothes to her spring uniform. She tidying her bangs and pulled her hair backward. Dan Oh grabbed her school backpack on the study table and went down to enjoy the breakfast together with her parents.
Both of her parents were waiting for her at the dinner table. The girl immediately sat neatly in her chair and enjoyed the delicious dishes that had been prepared by her mother. It has been a long time since the last time she enjoyed the typical home food that became the mainstay of the mother.
"How was your school Dan Oh? You're going to have a final exam soon, aren't you?" Mr. Eun asked to open a conversation with his only child.
"That's right Dad" replied Dan Oh briefly while enjoying the food.
"set your schedule properly and reduce your martial arts training a little bit, you should focus on your exams and get ready for the university entrance test," the father said. Dan Oh nodded with an understanding smile to the handsome man who always put his full attention to all the affairs of his daughter.
"have you decided which university you want to enter? What about Kyung? Are you going to apply to the same college as well?" this time it was her mother turn to ask.
"Yeah ... We chose the same university, maybe we just enter a different majors " replied Dan Oh in respond.
Dan Oh's parents known Kyung for a long time since they were kids. Dan Oh and Kyung's father are business partners and they all already know the relationship between the two teenagers from the very beginning. Their relationship has received a good support from both parents. For Dan Oh's parents, Kyung is a good man and can be relied upon to take care of Dan Oh.
That morning Dan Oh left for her school with her father in her family's private car. This happens occasionally when her father does not have to rush to the office. When her father is busy, Dan Oh will leave for school along with Kyung and take a public bus.
"study well girl," said Dan Oh's father before driving back to work.
Dan Oh stared at her father's departure until the black car had disappeared and was no longer seen. Since this morning her mind was so out of focus, the image of a man named Hwon Woon just kept coming and flashed through her mind. She was still unable to discern whether what she had experienced during this time was only a dream or indeed really happened. But her heart still felt so sad when she remembered all the things that reminded her of Woon.
"Everything feels normal, are all those things really just a dream? But why does everything seem so real?" Dan Oh is wondering alone in her mind.
She turned around when she was no longer saw the father's car. She began to walk slowly towards the entrance gate of the school.
"Eun Dan Oh! "suddenly she heard the voice of a very familiar man for her.
Dan Oh turns her head and finds Kyung is running closer to approach her. The student stared at Dan Oh with a look and facial expression that could not be spelled out. He suddenly pulled Dan Oh's body with both of his hands and hugged the girl tightly. Kyung gently stroked Dan Oh's shoulder and kept silent for a moment to enjoy the sensation he felt while hugging the girl.
His sudden actions attracted the attention of every student who passed them by. Dan Oh can only smile stiffly when there are several people who look at them with all kinds of gazes. Some look envious and some look confused. Kyung then let go of her arms and looked at the girl with a look of serious eyes.
"Kyung-ah... Good Morning..."she greet her lover with a cheerful smile that always appears on her face. Kyung frowned and suddenly looked upset.
"yak!! Is that the thing you said after disappearing and making everyone worry, where did you gone anyway?"said Kyung looking closely at the face of Dan Oh.
"disappeared? Me?" she look confused while pointing at herself.
"are you okay? What happened to you?"this time the man was worried. He held her arms and examined the state of the girl carefully.
Dan Oh just fell silent and seemed to be thinking over something. She thinks about the thing that bothered her since the morning again and remembers a planet from another dimension that appears in her memory.
"Did I .... How long have I been missing?"asked Dan Oh curiously .
"that... About seven days? Yeah, you've been missing for seven days, since the night of the supermoon..."Kyung replied as he remembered and counted the days that Dan Oh had disappeared.
"seven days?" she can't believe it. The girl was silent again.
"what happened? did I disappeared for seven days? So are all the events real? But it seems that I was in that place for more than a month" Dan Oh's mind was filled with questions that she could not afford to answer. Kyung looked at the girl in bewilderment when he saw his girlfriend suddenly fall silent.
"what's wrong?" Kyung asked curiously while still observing the change in a facial expression on Dan Oh's face.
"are you sure that I disappeared for seven days?"ask the girl who try to ask for confirmation.
"Yes, I exactly remember it. When it was a supermoon, I was trying to call you to inform you about this phenomena because you really liked the moon, but at that time your phone was off and since then you have disappeared," Kyung explained slowly.
Dan Oh frowning her forehead, she was not focused on the direction of her gaze. She remembered the incident that happened to her in the park that night. It is true that at that time the moon was shining brighter and seemed larger than usual, it turned out that a supermoon was happening.
Suddenly Dan Oh felt something stuck in her heart, as if her chest had just been hit with something very hard and heavy. She remembers every incident that happened on the planet of Mirac, the shadow of Woon who was badly injured by being pierced by a sword comes back to haunt her. Dan Oh immediately looked panicked and her tears began to flow.
"Eun Dan Oh! What's wrong?"said Kyung worried about seeing the change in expression on his lover's face. He tried to shake her body for the woman to regain consciousness from whatever was bothering her right now.
Dan Oh immediately took the backpack that was on her shoulder and left it hanging on her right hand. She opened her bag and looked for something in it.
"what are you looking for?" Kyung asked her curiously . The girl seems to be still panicking and in a hurry.
"handphone!"answer Dan Oh shortly. If the incident that happened to her is something real then on her phone there will definitely be a photo of Woon. But after unpacking all the contents of her bag, Dan Oh did not find her phone anywhere.
"Kyung-ah... You said I disappeared, right? But why are my parents just acting as normal as usual? And how do I get back home?" She is unable to understand the circumstances that are happening to her right now.
"Hmm... Maybe uncle and aunt are just worried about you for now, and will question you later after confirming that your condition is stable. You have been unconscious for two days since you were first found. Actually we have been looking for you everywhere and have reported the case to the police. Two days ago I accidentally found you unconscious in the park near our housing complex. You are wearing a strange clothes with a backpack on your back." Kyung said explaining what happened when he was finally able to find his girlfriend.
"I was wearing a strange dress?" Dan Oh asked again. Kyung just nodded.
"It's real...." Dan Oh said softly, almost inaudibly. Shee suddenly burst into tears remembering the state of Woon who had been badly injured. She hadn't healed the man's wounds at all. Woon is in critical condition and seriously injured, if he is not healed soon then the man could die. There was a hard smack in her chest at the thought of Woon's possible current state.
"What happended? Why are you crying?" Kyung asked worriedly and showed his concern. He held Dan Oh's cheeks and wiped the tears that were streaming down her cheeks. Kyung lifts the girl's face so she can look at him straight in the face.
"Kyung-ah...." Dan Oh said softly while crying. Kyung just looked at the girl in confusion. There was a clear expression of concern on his face.
"How is this? What should I do?" the girl was unable to explain what made her suddenly cry and only looked at Kyung with a face that looked messy because the tears were streaming down her cheeks.
"What is it?" Kyung asked slowly, patiently, trying to give the girl a chance to express her feelings. Kyung brings his face closer to Dan Oh so she can see into his eyes more clearly.
"He... Woon... cellphone... my cellphone disappeared...." Dan Oh said in a shaky tone with a trembling voice.
"Don't worry... You can buy a new one..." Kyung said trying to calm her down. He didn't fully understand what his girlfriend was saying. Who is Woon? But he chose not to pursue her anymore and tried to make the girl feel more comfortable and at ease.
"I can't..." the girl shook her head over and over again. The cellphone is the only memory left of Woon. Dan Oh immediately let go of Kyung and then ran quickly to the mysterious garden she last visited.
"Eun Dan Oh!" Kyung called her then ran after the girl who looked very confused. He no longer cared about the sound of the school bell signaling the start of their first lesson.
