Chapter 107: Playtime Is Over! (1)

~Third POV~

[Nighttime, UA Highschool, Heights Alliance, Japan]

Toru Hagakure's scream echoed across the first floor of Heights Alliance in a scared tone, "Ahh! Peeping Tom!"

Denki Kaminari, who came racing over from the common area with Itsuka Kendo and Himiko Toga, said, "Hold up, seriously?!"

Toru, with notes of both terror and fury in her voice, said as the invisible girl's T-shirt sleeve pointed toward the window to one side of the front door, "It was just for a second, but I saw this creepy smiling face outside the window!"

The group gasped, realizing that the peeper wasn't a class member. Besides this, all of class 1-A was already inside for the night as they all thought concerned, 'A villain, perhaps?'

These kids had tangled with villains several times since school had begun, so one couldn't blame them for jumping to that hasty, frightening conclusion. Eijiro Kirishima was about to take a bath himself, but he noticed his friends looking ill at ease as he quickly asked in a confused tone, "What's up, guys?"

Izuku Midoriya, Tenya Ida, Ren Yuki, and Shoto Todoroki were drawn over by the commotion too. After a quick description of the peeping incident, they grew just as concerned about potential villainy.

Ida soon made his suggestion with a stern expression on his face and said, "We ought to contact Aizawa Sensei posthaste."

*Knock*

*Knock*

Just as Ida suggested, but no sooner had the words left his mouth than they heard a series of sharp knocks on the front door. The group flinched, ready to fight or flee.

No time to get word to their teacher. They glanced at each other and nodded before surrounding the entryway with Ren moving forward, annoyed, having his time interrupted, creating Hero Costumes, and said out loud in an annoyed tone, "Oi! Who is it?"

Ren called out, looking more annoyed than nervous from his classmate's expressions. No answer.

Ren paused and turned to his classmates with a look that seemed to ask, whispering to them, "Should I open it?"

Wordless, fearful nods in unison. Ren gripped the handle. The kids shifted into attack stances, ready to repel the threat on the other side of the door.

*Klik*

Opening the door, the group might have preferred a villain because the quip and piercing laugh came from none other than Neito Monoma of class B, who ignored their dumbfounded looks and waltzed into the building in a condescending tone, "Huh? A guest shows up on your doorstep, and you people treat him like a common villain needing to be fought off? Honestly, class A is not very heroic of you! Hahahaha!"

That was when Toru gasped, pointing her finger accusingly at Neito for peeping on them in a stunned tone, "Hang on, was that you peeping through the window before, Monoma?"

Monoma didn't answer straightaway, choosing instead to glance around the interior while oohing and ahhing. A grin rose on his face as he said in a neutral tone, "Now that's just unwarranted slander. I was simply checking if anyone was home."

That was when Ida questioned Neito with a raised eyebrow, asking in a stoic tone, "Then you do admit to being our Peeping Tom?"

But Monoma ignored the valid point. That was when Izuku realized that the semantic argument was getting them nowhere fast as he bluntly said, "How about…you just tell us why you're here?"

However, Neito counters his question as he shamelessly says, "Am I not allowed to drop by without a reason?"

Izuku looked unsure as he replied in an unsure tone, "I mean, sure, I guess, but…"

There was no besting Monoma when he was in one of his moods. Satisfied with the minor torment he'd already inflicted, he threw the class-A kids a bone as he said, "I came to inspect if you must know. I was wondering, perhaps, if our respective dorms differ in any way."

That was when Denki stepped forward from the puzzled group to counter Monoma's outrageous theory. He was right; of course, the buildings were identical in every way except for the massive signs over the front doors displaying 1-A, 1-B, and so on, but Denki said in a blunt tone, "Of course, they're not different. All the dorms got built the same, man."

Then came Neito's quick deflection as he said in a neutral tone, "Hah? Have any of you ever been to the other dorms?"

They shook their heads, conceding the point. That was when Neito asked in a stoic tone, "Then how can you declare such a thing with such confidence?"

Ida, for his part, admitted honestly to Neito's question, "Admittedly, we cannot…"

In a triumphant moment, Neito soon asked in a charismatic tone, raising his eyebrows and smug grin, "In that case, you'll have to let me check, just to be sure! Right? Right?"

All eyes soon dart toward their Class Rep, Ren Yuki. Seeing the permission, he sighed, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms together as he said bluntly, "Sigh… very well then. Just don't cause problems."

Neito grinned, seeing the chance as he was soon shown to inspect the rooms from the boys of Class 1-A's side. Having bullied his way into receiving permission to 'inspect,' Neito had surveyed the common areas on the first floor before proceeding upstairs.

Helpless in the face of his advance, the group that had met him at the door had followed along and, upon reaching Ren's room, discovered to be completely normal. Neito raised an eyebrow, asking him in a confused tone, "You know when I expected to see All Might's protégé room? Normal wasn't the thing I had in mind, are you a minimalist or something?"

Ren simply shrugged his shoulder, having been annoyed now seeing how everyone comments on that, "Hey, I prefer efficiency to style, man. And what's wrong with having a normal room?"

Neito merely rolled his eyes as he inspected Izuku's room, seeing the Steampunk setting with a twitched expression, muttering, "Right… you're the kid that beat me in the Sports Festival from the Support Course. Of course, yours is mechanic-themed…"

Izuku merely puffed his chest out in pride, seeing his room was the winner of the previous King of the Rooms. But in the meantime, the other boys Shinso, Fumikage Tokoyami, Katsuki Bakugo, and Hanta Sero were all relaxing in the bath none the wiser to this invasion of privacy so their rooms remained locked and safe from the impromptu inspection.

While inspecting their rooms, Neito declared as he walked down the hall, looking positively bored despite the grand tour being his idea in the first place, "Sigh… Just about what I expected, and therefore dull."

Ren's eyes twitched as he said in an annoyed tone and a bit offended about his and his classmate's dorm rooms, "Dull, you say? Why must dorm rooms be interesting? They ought to be places equipped with practical necessities and nothing more. Isn't that enough?"

Neito's shrug seemed to mock Ren's straight-edged confusion as he said casually, "Nonsense. One's room is the ultimate representation of personal taste and style. The room reveals your true nature for all to see."

Hearing that, Midoriya's face twisted a bit. But they moved on to the third floor, which featured Kaminari's and Ida's rooms. Reaching to Denki's room first he swung open his door, eager to show off in a proud tone, "Check mine out!"

Contrary to Kaminari's hopes, the skateboard, dartboard, speaker system, funky lamp in the corner, and various knickknacks displayed around the room had failed to impress the girls during the exhibition contest on move-in day as he thought, 'Girls just couldn't understand my style! But pain in the butt or not maybe Monoma had an eye for these things.'

However, shattering Denki's hope with a brutal evaluation was when Neito shouted out loud seeing his room, "Such an unsightly mishmash! It's exhausting on the eyes! There's plenty to appreciate but no cohesive theme!"

Ida's room came next. The unusual number of eyeglasses on display piqued Neito's interest, but the rest of the room earned a brusque 'Too stuffy and serious.' Then, on the fourth floor, only Kirishima's room was available for viewing as he spoke in a proud tone, "I kinda doubt a dude like you would get it, but my room's totally manly!"

Neito scanned the room, noticed the punching bag and inspirational posters, pulled out his phone without a word, fiddled with it for a moment, and turned the screen toward Kirishima.

The photo showed a room with a punching bag, weight training equipment, and similar posters. This confused Kirishima as he asked in a confused tone, "When'd you snap a pic of my pad…?"

However, that was when Neito explained casually, "This is Tetsutetsu's."

Kirishima's eyes widened in shock as he exclaimed in a disbelief tone, "You're kidding? We've even got the same room!"

Kirishima had been less than thrilled when he'd learned that his Quirk and personality were nearly identical to those of Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, a boy in class B, so this didn't exactly help matters.

Neito showed his photo to Kirishima, with a smug grin, gesturing to the curtains, "Take a closer look, Tetsutetsu's curtains are made of an especially heavy metal!"

Kirishima's eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at the curtains, respecting Tetsutetsu in a stunned tone, "The dude's working on those gains every time he opens the curtains, even…?"

Ren, seeing this, looked a bit impressed as he mumbled to himself in an intrigued tone, "He put heavy metal curtains, huh? Could be useful training daily…"

Other than Ren, Neito surveyed the shocked looks and gave a haughty snort, saying in an arrogant tone, "We in class B are always putting in that extra effort behind the scenes! Still, I can't say I'm surprised that class A is resting on its laurels, thinking of these dorm rooms as places to kick back and take a load off! So indulgent, so undisciplined! Before you know it, class B will be doing laps around y- "

*Swoosh*

*Smack*

That was when a swift chop to the back of the neck interrupted Monoma's mad rant, courtesy of Setsuna Tokage, the president of class B, who appeared in an annoyed tone, "The only one who's gonna do laps is you, as punishment."

The boy's knees buckled, but before he could slump to the ground, Setsuna grabbed him by the collar. Behind them stood Tetsutetsu and class B's resident American, the large-horned Pony Tsunotori.

Both looked just as troubled as Setsuna, with Tetsutetsu asking bluntly, "What's the big idea, Monoma?"

Pony nodded her head, agreeing as she said in a confused tone, "I was very shocked when Monoma said he would visit class A tonight."

Pony had informed Setsuna of Neito's plan, so the leader of class B had taken it upon herself to retrieve the troublemaker. Despite the two dorm buildings being side by side, Tetsutetsu had decided to come along so the girls wouldn't have to walk alone in the dark.

That was when Setsuna began dragging Neito onto the first floor of the Heights Alliance Dormitory of Class 1-A with Ren sighing out loud with his hand over his head, thinking in an annoyed tone, 'Sigh… that copycat kid better have a good reason his interrupting mine, Izuku, and Melissa's time with his antics.'

They soon all headed to the first floor of the building, with Setsuna apologizing to Class 1-A…
