บท 12: The drawing and the book
"So what are you betting on?" asked Lu.
"She will draw a beach," I said.
"I think a garden," said Yìchén.
"Genghis... What about you?" asked Lu.
"First you tell us?" he said.
"Well, I think her teddy."
"My guess is she will draw us," said Genghis.
I don't know how many hours we had been working till my mom came with some snacks for us.
"You, brothers are so good." said my mom, making us look at her and see where she was pointing.
There was little Nuo fallen asleep on the sofa. She was holding tight to the painting she has done.
My mom got a blanket and covered her while taking the painting in her hand.
"I think she has seen through the three of you." said my mom.
"What did she draw?" we all asked together.
"Come and have a look,"
We took the painting from my mother and went through it. Nuo has drawn the three of us, looking beyond the open window. The look over the window shows a peaceful outdoor with a beautiful butterfly flying about.
"Guess we all are wrong," said Lu.
"But this painting, do you think she's trying to tell us?" asked Yìchén.
"OK, now you all stop this work and get some sleep. Genghis bring your sister to the guest room she can sleep there." said my mom. to tell the truth, my mom and dad have been dotting on little Nuo.
AS we were settling to go to sleep, Yìchén asked,
"Gin, I wanted to ask you about something.."
"hmmm... go ahead,"
"Do you have any idea what your sister wrote in the book she wanted to publish?"
"Now that you asked, I have never thought about it. One thing I didn't know about it till my mom told me that day and Nuo had the accident the same day."
"Maybe your mother knows about it? or is there a way we can get a hold of the copy of what she wrote from the publisher?"
"First I'll ask my mother tomorrow and see if she knows anything."
"Why are curious about this book, Yin?" I asked.
"I don't know... for some reason I like I need to read this book."
"Huh!!"
"A deja vu thing" chuckled Yìchén.
The next morning Genghis took Nuo home and he came back as we were planning to go to the hotel to do an inspection of the design layout they have now.
"Yìchén, I asked my mother about the book Nuo wrote..." said Genghis.
"Did she know anything?"
"Sad news she didn't know"
"What about the publisher?" I asked.
"No, my mom can't remember and it's hard for her to recall."
"Don't think too much, we will find a way."
"Lu, remember to get that drawing framed," I said to him before we all headed to our cars.

I was wondering about Nuo. To be precise, I have been thinking a lot about her. What must have really happened to her? Why was Andy jealous of Nuo? Is there something else that she is hiding? Maybe Andy approached Gin with a purpose.
"HI Gin" I called him.
"Yes.. Do you need anything?" he asked.
"Do you have anything planned tonight?"
"Hmm.... no I haven't"
"Then shall we meet up for a little chit-chat after dinner.."
"Ok... I'll meet you at the beach"
"What about Nuo?"
"She has started to like a painting now. So unless something so worrying she won't look for me."
"Really... that's good to hear. Then I'll see you at the beach.."
That night I went to the beach with some drinks. Genghis came a few minutes later.
"It feels a little cold today," said Genghis.
"Here" I gave him a drink, "How's Nuo?"
"She keeps drawing us." He laughed. "I think we can have an exhibition with the drawing she has done."
"Really.So that means she is improving?"
"Yes, I guess so..."
"Why don't we all go on a picnic together one day, maybe we can visit a garden. What do you think?"
"Let's go to the location of the residential project, so our fathers can give us some input while taking a breaking," said Genghis.
"Ok we'll do like that. mm.. GIn, I hope you won't mind asking this?"
"What is it?"
"How did you meet Andy?" I looked at him.
"Why?"
"I kind of feel, she had some reason to approach you."
"Hmm... I had such doubt too, after what happened to Nuo."
"Maybe Nuo knew something?"
"Could be... I met Andy at a party held to commemorate the launch of a new brand. Then little by little, we met at several places but when I think of it now, they cannot be coincidences." He said.
"What did you both talk about?"
"Mainly about designs and we both seem to click and we collaborated a few times with the same project."
"When did she got to know Nuo?"
"One day when Andy came to the office Nuo was there helping me out with a design. And obviously, I loved what she did and approved it. But I realized later that Andy was very cautious about whatever Nuo did."
"Andy must have felt jealous. everyone seems to adore and recognize Nuo" I said after thinking for a while.
"But Nuo always let Andy share the limelight. She never stopped loving her to be sister-in-law. But it's true that many didn't like Andy that much for some reason."
"Do you know why?" I asked.
"Andy used to have a pretended, a little rude behavior when she was near Nuo, that made Nuo even more recognized. "
"hmm... I see.."
