บท 185: Just Kiss

Leo sighed and decided to go to bed himself. On his way to his room, he passed by hers. The door was shut, and the soft stillness on the other side told him she was already in bed, probably fast asleep.

He lingered there for a moment longer than he should have, his fingers twitching at his sides. Then he moved on, slipping into his own room and lying down on the large, empty bed.

He closed his eyes, but sleep didn't come easily. His mind was too full — of her, of the way she'd looked at him like he was someone to fear. The ache in his chest only grew, but eventually, exhaustion pulled him under.

Hours later, a noise jolted Leo awake. His eyes opened slowly, his senses still half-dulled from sleep. At first, he dismissed it as the wind, but then he heard it again. A muffled sound, sharp and broken.
