She couldn't complete her words as Veron cut her off suddenly grabbing her waist and sealing her lips with a kiss. 

Stunned by his action, her brain shut down for a moment and she forgot what she wanted to say or what led to that. When her brain resumed functioning, she summoned her spear.

However, Veron pulled away just in time to catch her hand, stopping her from swinging the spear.

"I don't want to fight you, Arin. I just need to know how to win you back. This entire palace, especially this room, has been empty and cold without you."

His last words confused Celeste. Which room? What was he… Her train of thought halted when she realized they were no longer in the hallway where Gideon's room was located. He seemed to have brought them to the king's quarters, right in front of the room they shared before she left that fateful day.

"Come back to me, Arin. Please."
