Ricciardo could feel Ava's eyes on him.

"He told you that?" she asked him.

"Yep, made it glaringly clear that we can't fall in love." Ricciardo replied.

Ava sighed, "I grew up with Jax but he changed after he became Alpha and he changed even more drastically after meeting Lily but ever since you came into his life, I have seen glimpses of that old Jax"

"That doesn't mean a thing." Ricciardo said refusing to give life to the blooming hope inside him.

"I think you are scared." Ava told him.

"What could I be scared of?"

"That he loves you back and he would ask you to stay here with him, and you know that you would happily do that. It scares you how much you would do anything for him, doesn't it?"
