บท 1: My Gwen is Ghost Spider?

New York City, Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Through the morning mist, sunlight streamed into an attic studio.

In front of the easel, a young man with undeniable charm painted a vivid impression from his mind.

A scene of war soon emerged on the canvas: a blue portal atop a building, monster soldiers swarming like ants, massive battleships covering the sky...

"Lee! Breakfast is ready, come down."

A voice called up to the attic.

"Okay, Jessica, just a moment, please," Evan Li replied.

Finishing his last brushstroke, he covered the painting with a white cloth. The Battle of New York hadn't happened yet, so his spontaneous painting couldn't be revealed just yet.

Evan Li was a time traveler.

From the histories of Stark Industries and Oscorp, it was clear that he was in the Marvel Universe.

After realizing he was an ordinary person here, he decided to lay low.

Save the world?

Leave that to the superheroes.

It's worth mentioning, though, that although Evan was just an ordinary person, his connections were... interesting.

At the very least, he could pass as a named extra.

His left-hand neighbor was New York City Police Commissioner George Stacy, who had a daughter named Gwen Stacy. Gwen, a few years younger than Evan, had been close to him since she was a child.

And on his right? That would be the three-person household of Ben Parker, Aunt May, and...

Peter Parker.

Yes, Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man.

Evan didn't expect that one of his favorite characters from his previous life would be tagging along with him as a child.

But there was more.

The girl who'd called from the attic was Jessica, originally Jessica Campbell. She had been Gwen's high school classmate and friend until her family tragically passed away in a car accident.

On impulse, Evan had adopted her as a "little sister."

Later, he discovered that Jessica's life script felt strangely familiar. Was she actually Jessica Jones, the Knightress?

Fully loaded with superhero connections, Evan Li had still managed to survive until now—maybe because Peter and Jessica hadn't yet embraced their heroic destinies.

When Evan went downstairs, he saw two girls already eating breakfast: Jessica and Gwen.

Both were casually dressed, young, and beautiful, with delicate, almost illustrated features—each with a unique charm.

Jessica had long black hair, while Gwen sported shoulder-length blonde hair. Together, they created a striking visual contrast.

"Hey, Gwen, you're here too," Evan greeted.

Gwen winked at him playfully.

"The breakfast you taught Jessica to make is amazing," she said, clearly here for the food.

"Lee, come sit."

Jessica smiled and pulled out a chair between her and Gwen—apparently, a spot reserved just for him.

There was no need to explain the thoughtfulness behind it.

"Jessica, it's Li, not Lee," Evan joked as he sat down, serving each girl a soup dumpling.

"We've been together so long, if you call me wrong, I'll be sad~"

"Hey, Chinese pronunciation is too hard!" Jessica said, sticking out her tongue before correcting herself, "Li... Li."

"Li~" Gwen repeated effortlessly.

"Wow, Gwen, your pronunciation is perfect!" Jessica said, surprised.

Gwen grinned. "I've been learning Chinese lately."

"Oh, impressive."

"Big brother has been teaching me here and there, but I still can't get the pronunciation just right," Jessica admitted.

Gwen pulled up a website on her phone and passed it to Jessica, bypassing Evan. "Here, try this site."

She leaned over, resting close to Evan, pressing lightly against him.

The two girls began chatting animatedly.

Evan was used to the casual physical closeness. He sat, playfully encircled by their hands and arms, chiming in every so often.

As the saying goes, life was good.

In this warm atmosphere, he enjoyed his breakfast even more.

A drawer of steamed buns and a bowl of egg drop soup quickly disappeared.

"Huh?"

Jessica, glancing at her phone, suddenly exclaimed. She turned her screen toward Evan, her excitement barely contained. "Look at this—check out this superhero! So cool!"

It was a news report. The headline mentioned Spider-Man, accompanied by a photo.

Evan raised an eyebrow. Peter debuted already?

But something felt... off. The colors were wrong.

He zoomed in on the photo.

And stared, dumbfounded.

The "Spider-Man" in the photo had a distinctly curvy figure, wearing a black-and-white suit with a hint of purple, complete with a white hood.

Gwen... Spider-Woman?

No wonder Gwen's hair was gold.

He knew something felt a little off.

Who'd have thought—his Gwen was Ghost-Spider.
