บท 8: He's A Married Man
King Lexis was no longer comfortable in the throne room. He was tensed. The kept feeling someone's presence close to him but there was no one there.
Standing up to leave, a pair of cold hands held his sleeves, sending shivers down his spine. He paused without turning around so that the unknown person could reveal himself.
"King Lexis you don't have to be scared, I don't bite. I only manipulate and possess people that's all." A feminine voice spoke from behind.
That voice, it's sounds so familiar. He knew he had heard that voice before. Only manipulate and possess, now he was done for. Who's that?
The cold hand reached him again and held his arm. King Lexis was devastated. He then turned to face the woman and his eyes met her golden eyes. The Prophetess.
"I'm not here to seduce you or something. Quit it with the act. It's as if I'm bullying you or aren't you a man?" The Prophetess yelled. King Lexis was afraid that the guard would hear her voice so he quickly silences her which made her chuckle.
"I already put them into slumber until I'm out of here." She revealed.
"What are you doing here then?" King Lexis gathered enough boldness to question her with all authority. Truth be told, he was afraid of her. He was scared that if he possibly make any wrong move she might strangle him to death while she was capable of doing so.
"To remind you. You only have three days left to persuade your daughter. The King of Vallat is an impatient being as he doesn't know what patience is." She briefed not wanting to talk more about the King of Vallat. It will only cause King Lexis' curiosity and suspicion to raise.
"I know it's three days remaining. I'm trying so hard to persuade Ariel." The King bowed his head in shame.
"I think I'll need to speak with her myself. I'll convince her more. I'm only doing this to help your Kingdom and not you." The Prophetess's expression became serious.
King Lexis glanced at her and his gaze met with her perfect body. It was as if her body was calling him and he was tempted to touch her. He resisted this temptation and used his palm to slap his face.
"Please you need to put on some clothing before seeing my daughter. I don't want her to imitate your kind of dressing." King Lexis pleaded. He couldn't believe that he was begging her to put on some clothes. He was tempted to feel her soft and cold skin but managed to resist talking more of his daughter who finds most women attractive as well.
The Prophetess chuckled using the back of her palm to cover her mouth. "You don't want your daughter to imitate my kind of dressing. That's not a problem but you can't deny the fact that you find my body attractive." The Prophetess spoke seductively.
King Lexis still doubted if she was the Prophetess. She's so shameless and how did she know what he was thinking? That was one of his unanswered questions. She usually replied to most of his thought.
"I can read your thought, that's all you need to know." She hurriedly spoke. "I'll speak with your daughter before the end of the day and besides I'm doing you a favor by not making you pass through the deadly River of Valox."
This time she was right. She did save him from such stress and he didn't know if he could make it past the River of Valox. He was indebted to her this time.
"I know. I'm indebted to you." He used his knuckles to support his jaw, avoiding gazing at the Prophetess.
The Prophetess let out a low laugh. How could he possibly pay her back? He wasn't capable enough to satisfy her needs. "I know that. I hope you can pay me in the future." She said almost in a whisper before she disappeared out of thin air.
King Lexis just watched her disappear with a frown settling on his face. God damn her. King Lexis once again thought about her alluring body. The images of her perfect figure kept playing in his head. Her golden hair and eyes match the ray of the sun. If possible she might be the goddess of the sun.
For fuck sake, he's a married man.
Meanwhile, Ariel's mother was waiting for her in the garden. Queen Rebecca was not at ease because her daughter just have three days to stay with her.
Prince Richard entered. "Your Majesty; my Queen" He bowed.
Queen Rebecca was shocked to see him. Hasn't his father warned him of coming over to the Kingdom of Macbeth?
"Prince Richard." She faked a smile because she was not happy to see him as if he was endangering himself.
"It's like the Queen is not happy to see me here" Prince Richard smiled at her after noticing the frown that settled on the woman's face.
"It's not that Prince Richard, hasn't your father cut ties with us?" She said hitting the nail on the head.
Prince Richard was tongue-tied. His father strictly warned him about visiting the Kingdom of Macbeth since he believed it was cursed. Richard bluntly refused. He was blindly head over heels in love with Ariel not knowing about the girl's current situation.
"I refused...I can't stop coming here to visit Ariel." Prince Richard grinned.
On hearing that, Queen Rebecca's frown deepened. She was not happy that Richard would be lured into the mess at hand. The prince would be heartbroken if he finds out that Ariel belongs to another. Meanwhile, he has no power against the King of Vallat.
Among the seven Kingdoms; are Vallat, Macbeth, Gishon, Anoid, Liposh, Martho, and Lushin. Vallat was the most powerful of them all. No one dares to wage war against them because they'll end up being defeated.
Queen Rebecca was once happy when she found out that Ariel and Richard are close friends and wished for their friendship to end up with marriage but now it was the opposite.
Before she could think of what to tell Prince Richard, Ariel came in.
