บท 99: Responsibility

Lilian choked on her own saliva as she coughed upon hearing Vincent's words. She did not know he was waiting right outside. Her fingernails dug into the pads of her palm as she cursed Prudence for tricking her. Lilian was convinced it was Prudence's plan to make Vincent stand outside while she came in and provoked Lilian. "His Grace," Lilian lost all her words. She felt pathetic for having acted like that and wished the time could reverse itself. 

"Yes, Lilian?" Vincent smiled at her. A smile that did not reach his eyes.
