Chapter 74

Regina's POV

I was watching the news, while waiting for reports from Jack and the police officers who had gone out to search for Luciana when the headline flashed across the screen: Luciana possibly dead.

"What?" I gasped, my heart pounding in disbelief. "This can't be true," I muttered underneath my breath. There was no way Luciana could be dead. It wasn't something I even wanted to imagine.

I quickly grabbed my phone, and put a call through to Jack, just to confirm from him if what I had seen on the news was true. The phone rang for a couple of times but there wasn't any reply from him.

I decided to call the chief of police who luckily for me, I had his number already saved. I waited as his phone rang, waiting for him to pick up even if I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to say to him.

The call finally connected, and he answered. "This is the chief of the police, who am I speaking."
