Easton's gaze suddenly turned icy, and Scarlett seemed to have hit a nerve. Without a second thought, she retorted, "Mind your language, please. Your feud with Mr. Zhou has nothing to do with me. I'm just an innocent bystander who has never crossed your path. Why are you making things difficult for me?"

"My boyfriend is in the room across the hall. We've been childhood sweethearts. He moved from Winter City to Night City for me, and I came to Deep City for him. I don't want to get involved in unnecessary conflicts, nor do I want rumors to affect our relationship!"

She was on edge, reacting sharply at the slightest provocation, her face flushed with anger.

Easton appeared taken aback. Scarlett maintained a facade of indignation, but internally, she was calm and even slightly amused. If Ryan heard this melodramatic love story, he would surely ask, "Who? Me?"
