บท 42: The Past (part 2)
Love.
Pain.
Him.
Sabrina's thoughts were scattered all over the place. She didn't know what to think for the pain in her heart was too much.
The woman inside his office..
Why does it have to be Ms. Valerie?
Where did things go wrong?
Why did things suddenly turn out like this?
Was I not enough?
Sabrina forcefully dragged herself out of the building and on her way out, she accidentally bumped into Jacob's parents.
"Good thing you're here, we need to talk," Jacob's mom spoke.
"I'm sorry, but I don't think today's the right day. I'm not feeling well auntie," she refused politely, but the Madam of Lockwood Corporation didn't take no for an answer.
"I'm sure that there is no other right time but now Sabrina. Aren't you curious why Jacob suddenly cut contact with you? or why is there a woman inside his office?"
Sabrina felt her heart tighten.
Unwillingly, she followed his parents inside a cafe near Lockwood Corporation and sat to have a chat with them.
"I won't beat around the bush Sabrina, I don't like you for Jacob. We only let you guys fool around for some time, but it needs to end now. Your status don't match him and also who knows what kind of scandal you might bring to the Lockwood Family in the future if we let you be a part of our family," Jacob's mom belittled her.
Sabrina's throat tightened. She wanted to answer back, but no words came out. She wanted to tell them that Jacob loves her, but because of what she saw inside his office, she wasn't sure if his feelings were still the same.
"The woman inside his office, she is Jacob's fiance. In two weeks time, they will be married and our family companies will be merged. I hope you won't ruin it. Think about Jacob's future, let him go. His future is not bright with just an entertainer like you, he's better off with someone of high status and not as lowly as yours," Jacob's father added.
Both of them stood up and left Sabrina alone, crying inside the cafe.
A lot of people who knew Sabrina, took snaps of her crying her heart out inside the cafe. She didn't care about issues anymore, she was hurting deeply inside.
Marga who was searching for Sabrina, received an article link from a friend. It was a blog site that posted Sabrina's crying photos. She searched for the location of the cafe where Sabrina was spotted and immediately drove there.
"What happened to you Sabby?" she spoke worriedly. She stepped on the accelerator and sped to the address of the cafe.
Arriving at the cafe, she was already late. Sabrina already left. She brought out her phone and dialed Sabrina's number again and again, but her phone was turned off.
Where is she? What the hell happened?
Then suddenly she thought of something. Sabrina ran away because she was worried of Jacob. Maybe something happened!
Desperate, Marga dialed Jacob's number. It rang for a few times before it was answered.
"Marga? What's with the sudden call?" asked Jacob.
"Are you okay? Are fine? Are you good?" Marga asked in one go.
"Yeah I am, what's up?" Jacob asked confusedly.
As soon as Marga heard what he said, she sighed in relief, but then she remembered Sabrina immediately. If he was okay, why was she crying?
"Did you meet Sabrina today?" she asked.
"No, why?" he answered, then suddenly a woman's voice was heard from his line.
"What's taking you so long honey? You're making me wait," the woman spoke.
Marga's brows immediately raised upon hearing the voice, "Who was that?" she questioned.
"I'm a bit busy Marga, talk to you later." he said hurriedly, then ended the call.
Marga felt her heart become heavy. She was mostly happy when she was right about things, but right now she didn't. Her suspicions about Jacob was true! Sabrina will be very broken if she knew.
Or she already knows!
Suddenly, Marga's phone rang. She answered the call immediately.
"What!? In what hospital?" she suddenly spoke.
After the call, she rushed to her car and headed to Saint Lukes Hospital immediately.
Earlier, when Sabrina left the cafe, her mind was occupied. Her mind wasn't in the best state.
She entered her car and drove away.
On the road, her mind was floating. She didn't notice that a person was crossing the street.
In panic, Sabrina suddenly turned her steering wheel side ways and ended up crashing on a post. The impact was so strong that it crushed the front part of Sabrina's car completely.
Due to the strong impact, Sabrina banged her head on the steering wheel and lost consciousness. With the help of civilians, she was immediately sent to the hospital.
"Nurse, may I ask where Sabrina Pierce is?" Marga asked in panic. She was absolutely mortified the moment she heard that Sabrina was sent to the hospital due to a car accident.
What was this woman thinking!
The nurse lead Marga to where Sabrina was. There she saw Sabrina, lying unconsciously and was being tended by a doctor. She thanked the nurse and immediately approached them.
"How is she doc?"
"Ms. Sabrina didn't suffer from any serious injuries. She's lucky that she only received a cut on her forehead and a few glass cuts on her face. We are still waiting for the results of the CT scan to see if she had any other injuries. For now she just needs rest," the doctor said.
Marge immediately sighed in relief when she heard what the doctor said.
"Thank you doc," she said. The docter then, left after.
She sat beside Sabrina and held her hand.
"He's not the only man in the world Sabrina, why did you have to do this to yourself?" she spoke.
Sabrina was like a sister to Marga and she treasured her like a family. Seeing her in this state really broke her heart.
She did nothing but love Jacob with her whole heart and soul. Did she deserve this treatment form him?
Angrily, Marga brought her phone out and dialed Jacob's number.
At first, her call was declined.
Her anger grew more so she dialed his number repeatedly until he eventually answered.
"I told you I'm busy Marga!" Jacob said irritatably.
"Busy? With what? Or with who huh!?" Marga asked in frustration, "Do you really not care about Sabrina anymore Jacob?" she questioned him.
"Let's talk later Marga," he said and was about to end the call but,
"Did you know that she got into an accident because of you huh!? What kind of boyfriend are you!?" Marga shouted.
After hearing what Marga said, Jacob's heart suddenly stopped.
"Where are you right now?" he asked in a serious tone.
"What the hell do you care! You've got a replacement for Sabrina already right?" she mocked him.
"I'm asking where are you!" Jacob shouted.
"I'm warning you Jacob, the moment you see Sabrina, end things with her immediately. She doesn't deserve to be treated like this," Marga threatened then ended the call immediately.
"Who was that honey?" Valerie asked Jacob then started to kiss him on ths neck again, but Jacob refused.
"I have to go somewhere," he said, then stood up immediately and buttoned up his shirt.
"Where are you going?" the woman asked but Jacob didn't mind her. He grabbed his keys and left the company immediately.
"I hope you're okay Sabrina, or else I won't be able to forgive myself," he said and stepped on the accelerator.
He should've just explained everything to her. If he just told Sabrina the truth, she wouldn't suffer like this. It broke his heart completely.
On the way, his phone suddenlg rang. It was his mom.
He immediately reached out for his bluetooth earpiece and answered the immediately.
"What is it now Mom?" he asked disrespectfully.
"I'm just checking on you. I hope you don't break your promise Jacob. You know what will happen," his mom reminded him.
Frustrated, Jacob removed his earpiece and threw it. If only he had a choice, things would've turned out differently from what was happening right now.
"This is all for you Sabrina, I hope you forgive me one day. I promise it will all be worth it, just wait for me," he said.
