บท 32: Part 2: Chapter 32: Choices were never easy

He needed to be alone. He could not accept the instructions he had received. In his room he retrieved a bottle of water from the fridge, taking a few long gulps. The rush of coldness did wonders, but nothing for his mind - no refreshing coolness to take away the sharp reality of his life.

He scanned his room, saw every book and folder in stark contrast to his life. They were all neatly stacked on a shelf. His bed was orderly made, everything as it should be while his life was falling apart. His heart ripped to pieces.

He acknowledged the laptop on the desk. It waited with a blank expression. With a light touch against the mouse she waited, leaning against the limestone pillar with a gorgeous smile. The sun tinted her in golden hues; she glowed. Beautiful, sparkling with a zest of life, and his heart belonged to her.

"God no, anything but her!" he called out in desperation. The inkling remained wordless.

"God … why? Please tell me why?"
