Navi took a deep breath before dialing Ging's number on her phone. As the line rang, she felt a knot form in her stomach, knowing that she would have to deliver bad news to their leader.
"Ging, it's Navi," she said when he answered. "We have some terrible news. We lost Ely."
There was a pause on the other end of the line,
"What happened?" he asked, his voice tight with concern.
Navi quickly recounted the events that had led to Ely's death, her voice steady but filled with emotion. She could feel tears prick at the corners of her eyes, but she pushed them away, determined to remain strong.
"We're all tired, Ging," she said. "But we think it's time to end this mission. We can't risk any more lives."
There was another pause on the line, and Navi could hear Ging weighing his options.
"I understand," he finally said. "You're right; you guys can't afford to lose anyone else. Come back to First Ruins, and we'll send you out from there."
Navi let out a sigh of relief, grateful that Ging was willing to listen to their concerns. She hung up the phone and turned to the rest of the group, who were gathered around her, waiting for news.
"We're ending the mission," she said, her voice firm. "But do not worry; everybody is still going to be paid according to the first agreement. "Both the land and the money will be fully paid."
There were nods of agreement from the group, and they began to pack up their belongings, ready to make the journey back to the first ruin they had discovered. It was a somber moment, knowing that they had lost one of their own, but Navi felt a sense of pride in her team. They had faced adversity and come out the other side stronger and more united than ever before.
It was clear that Ely and others did not know too much. In the end, they were together for some time and fought against creatures and worked with each other. It was still sad.
After ending the call with Navi, Ging's thoughts turned to the mysterious figure she had mentioned. He couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to the story than what she had told him. It was not that he did not believe Navi. He believed that mysterious figure and those stone creatures symbolized more important things.
"It appears that I will require a team of combat nen users."
Ging thought and started working.
He began to pour over maps and research, trying to piece together any information he could find about the area where Navi and her team had lost Ely. Ging was the most important hunter in the scene, and as ruins discovered, he is essentially the island's leader of all nen users and hunters. He didn't feel sorry for Ely, but he also knew that the life of a hunter was dangerous, and that the risk of death was always present.
As he continued to dig deeper, he couldn't help but think about the larger picture. The hunters' mission was to protect the world from supernatural threats, and that meant taking risks and facing danger head on. But at what cost? Was it worth risking the lives of their team members for the greater good?
Ging felt a pang of guilt as he thought about Ely and the sacrifices that she and other hunters had made in service of their mission. But he also knew that they had all made the decision to take this dangerous and difficult path.
