Lila walked through the dark void. Her feet splashed with every step as she treaded closer to the bright light.
She covered her eyes as she stepped into the bright light.
"!" A little voice giggled.
Lila blinked harshly as she unconvered her eyes. Two people stood on a beach, watching as the little girl dug through the sand.
Her curly blonde hair sat just on her shoulders as she furiously dug into the sand. She squealed as shoved a seashell out towards the two adults. She was so beautiful.
Lila inched closer to the adults, finally revealing their faces.
It was her and Billy. They held hands as they watched the little girl.
"." Lila whispered as she reached for him.
Billy looked up from the girl and at Lila before vanishing into thin air.
Lila eyes widen and panicked as she frantically looked around. She was left with nothing again.
She dropped to her knees, sobbing into her hands. She was alone again in this big empty void. She wanted to go home.
She looked around the void through tears. Nothing.
Her eyes suddenly drifted into the back of her head. Her feet were lifted from the ground.
Her human form gasped as it rose from her bed. Lila breathed heavily, looking around. It was dark but she could see Billy sitting beside her with his head tilted backwards.
"Billy." She said breathlessly.
Billy shot up from the chair, looking around frantically. His gaze finally settled on Lila and tears filled his eyes.
Billy rushed towards her, cupping her face in his hands. She kissed her gently before pulling away.
"Don't you ever do that again." He whispered.
"I had to." Lila smiled softly. "I wanted to see you again."
A nurse walked in, ruining their moment. As she flipped the lights on, she gasped.
"Goodness! You're awake!"
Billy was pushed from beside the bed as doctors fled in. Lila sat there, terrified as they asked her questions and poked at her.
"You have to wait in the waiting area." The woman spoke as she grabbed Billy's arm.
"What? What?" Billy raged as he snatched his arm from the woman.
"You have to wait in the waiting area, Mr. Hargrove." The nurse answered before standing infront of the door. Another nurse slung the curtains shut and the door lock clicked.
"What? No!" He shouted. "Let me back in there."
"I'm sorry but I can't." The woman shrugged. "Doctors orders."
"Politely, tell the doctor to fuck off." Billy snapped. "That's my girlfriend you're locking away!"
"Billy." Hopper called out as he jogged down the hallway.
"She's fucking awake, Hopper. I can't even see her?" Billy yelled as he swung around to face Hopper.
"Let's go, yeah? You can't show out like this here." Hopper said through gritted teeth.
"No, fuck no." Billy shook his head.
"Billy, let's go." Hopper demanded.
Billy huffed before he began walking past Hopper. Hopper followed after him shaking his head. Once the two of them were outside, Billy stopped and placed his hands on his hip.
"What the hell is that, Hop!" He shouted.
"Dr. Owens is from the lab. He's going to run a few tests and then she can go home." Hopper explained.
"The lab?" Billy asked angrily. "You let those people near her?"
"They're helping us, Billy!" Hopper fumed.
"How?" Billy argued. "By poking and proding her?"
"They just want to make sure she's okay." Hopper said. "I can't go in to further detail."
As soon as Billy opened his mouth to argue, a flood of doctors left through the glass doors. A nurse followed them out and motioning for Billy and Hopper to follow her.
When Billy and Hopper arrived, Lila was teary eyed.
"What's a matter?" Billy fumed. "Did they hurt you?"
"No." Lila gulped.
"My powers, gone."
