It has only been a week since the human and lizards arrived in his village, and already chaos was everywhere. He was glad to have Cyro and Mira finally apart, but that also was already creating a strain on Alzie and his alliance. He hadn't spoken to Alzie in two days, and the wolves were doing a good job at keeping Mira away from him. He did manage to keep Mira from seeing Cyro for a little bit. However, the two new chiefs that showed up have given her permission to see him tomorrow. He needed more chiefs on his side. He sighed looking down at Mira's blood test results. From what he could tell she was seen as infertile from his notes of the humans. However, her blood said something else. It was confusing and he couldn't make since of it. According to his notes human's fertility relied on hormones and their shape. According to what he found out she was different than humans which is why he thought he knew nothing. Her hormones were higher than allowed for humans, but it was at the level needed for beasts. And though there was scaring and signs of infertility in the physical examination, he was sure that her body wasn't like other humans because of the amount of hormones in her system and that fact she resembled their own females. He wanted to get another blood sample too see if maybe there was a fluctuation in her hormones. He also found a strange amount in testosterone. The books said even female humans had a bit of testosterone, but she exceeds that number a little bit as well.
For humans there would barely be any chance of her having children, but for them she was quiet ideal. Only problem was that the studies from changing humans to beasts suggested that the human must first be fertile. That way they could carry the fertility to the new breed of beast men. He rubbed his head, frustration and confusion filling his head. So many things to factor in and none of which was helping. Her body as is said it was too weak to carry a beast's child. But she was fertile for them and the right shaping. Yet according to everything he's read that shouldn't be possible without her undergoing certain mutations. She definitely couldn't repopulate with another human. He honestly couldn't see why she would want to go back, unless she didn't know that she wasn't fertile for her own species. He wondered if maybe the sudden exposer she endured in the ruins caused this change in her body. She also looked to be too small for her to give birth to a beast infant. She was also smaller than what was said to be the average human height. The books also said she didn't feel things down there, but from his own examination she certainly could.
He looked out the window, the sun was high in the sky marking lunch time. He was more than happy to get a break for all the confusion Mira's results were giving him. He placed the papers into his drawer under some pieces of hide. He definitely couldn't let others have this information. The only way he could get a for sure yes or no was if Mira was to mate with someone, or even him, fully. If she were to do that, he was sure to get the answers he needed. He walked down the halls to the dining hall, so many new beasts were there, and everyone seemed to get alone well. Lizards, foxes, wolves, bears, and mountain lions all happily conversing. He placed a fake smile on his face as he waved to those who waved to him. He wanted to grab his food and get out of there quickly. He was sure Mira, Kylo, or Indigo would have already told everyone about how Cyro had nearly beat him. He was thankful they stopped him before it got worse. He felt so humiliated to have nearly lost to him, especially in front of Mira.
He had done everything to try to show he was the better, stronger, choice. Now she won't believe that, but at least she sees his power now. Strength is nothing if you don't have power. His father taught him that. He noticed Frazen sneaking out with two plates of food. He hadn't seen much of his little brother much these days either. Made him wonder what he's been up too of late, or who that is. The second plate was a dead giveaway that he had company. Frazen was too concerned over his figure to eat that much food. He grabbed his plate and followed Frazen, walking fast enough to catch up.
"Hey, little bro!" He playfully bumped him and watched as he tried not to spill any of the food.
"None of your business." He said glaring back at him.
"What, you don't want me to know about your mystery lover." He smirked back.
"What makes you think I have a mystery lover?" He didn't look to him just kept walking forward.
"Brother, you constantly worry over your figure." He stepped in front of Frazen, stopping him in his tracks. "I've also known your gay for quiet sometime, so you know I won't judge."
Frazen sighed, his ears lying flat as his face took on a worried look. He wondered who it could possibly be. Someone special for sure, his brother always told him who it was. When he found out his brother was interested in men, he assumed the chief roll. To save him from being forced into mating with a woman. In doing so Frazen always introduced new lovers to him. He would have been accepted if it hadn't been for the new of more children. The population dwindling weighed heavy on everyone.
"Alright, fine!" He finally said. "But you can't tell anyone, and you can't say anything."
"Ok." Now he was worried, who did his brother get mixed up with?
"It's Alzie." He glanced at him and quickly looked away. Like he was expecting to be yelled at.
He was pretty stunned at the thought of him and Alzie. He always thought Alzie was way too head over heels in love with Cyro to even notice anyone else. He knew he chose Heili as a cover and to full fill his duty as chief.
"What about Cyro?" He asked as they began walking again.
"Well, you took care of that didn't you." He said in disapproving voice.
"What? He broke the rule of the peace treaty." He honestly didn't feel sorry for the guy. "No beasts shall harm another beast for another tribe."
"Yes, I know. But you did bait him into it." He flattened his ears at that. Of course, his brother would say that. "Look you need to be gone before I open this door."
"Ok," he sighed.
He hadn't realized just how lonely he actually was till now. To be able to have someone to go to whenever he felt stressed, frustrated, or even sad. It left an empty feeling in his stomach. He walked back to his room, avoiding contact with everyone. Being a chief not only meant having everyone like you, but also never truly being connected with someone. He had to choose the most fertile of all females, whether he liked her or not. Often nowadays chiefs tend to have more than one mate for this reason. He paused as the sound of crying caught his attention. It was a female for the sound of how high pitched it was. He moved closer to the door the sound was coming from and placed his ear to the door. The crying as soft and high pitched it was could only be coming from one person. Mira. He listened intently as the sound of a male's voice began speaking. He was speaking too softly for him to hear any actual words, but there was no mistaking it was a male.
