Bang!

A soft thud echoed.

With Adam's motion, a figure flew out sideways.

Boom!

The monster's body crashed into the wall, making a dull sound.

The noise reverberated all around.

Adam turned to look and was about to move forward, but then he stopped in his tracks.

Because behind him, the body of that monster had vanished.

On the ground was a pool of flesh and blood and debris, but the monster from before was nowhere to be found.

"Gone?"

This thought flashed through Adam's mind.

From behind, the sound of a woman's sobbing continued.

Adam turned to look behind him.

The woman had now raised her head.

Her long hair cascaded down, revealing her pale face.

Her face was incredibly pale and ghastly, with scars crisscrossed across it, making her look horrifying, like a corpse.

Overall, she looked terrifying, enough to give anyone nightmares.

Adam stood rooted to the spot, unfazed.

But in the next moment, the woman let out a piercing scream.
