Ares glanced at Maxen, momentarily unsure of what to say about his godson.

Maxen, still carrying the golden tree, nodded seriously, his expression solemn.

Ares pointed at the golden tree and said, "That's not my tree."

This was Thor's tree, so it was Thor's responsibility to deal with the bad luck. What did it have to do with Ares?

Maxen was Ares's godson, but that didn't mean the tree was Ares's godson too, right?
