บท 4: Sparing
Once Rain got changed into a white training Gi with no belt he was lead to a side mat away from the large center one where a class was going. A few people accepted to spar with him, however all seemed to be doing it because they to were excited to see another person wishing to train!
Rain was taught the official respects to starting a match, and how to end one respectfully. So when they started the match, they bowed preformed a standing bow to each other. The instructor speaking first.
''Alright, first off just test his stance and reflexes, when you feel you have enough, end the spar and let me talk to your partner to see what else we need to test! You both ready? Start!"
Rain readied himself and watched his opponent, there were some slight jitters, however. One of his passives, the butter of all Gamers, was Gamer's Mind, making him 'Near' immune to all mental attacks and debuffs while also suppressing large surplus of emotions, or negative ones in general.
Using this skill to kept himself calm and collected, that being noticed as his sparing partner began to circle with him, occasionally stepping forward to see how Rain reacted, never once did he back down, however he did adjust himself accordingly as he could. Making sure he kept himself at a fair enough distance to react to anything.
It was after a few moments, which felt like minutes go by did the guy finally move forward. He had been testing Rain's patience, and everyone that was watching see his face remain calm and collected during the entire wait time brought a few pointers in their respective books.
As the guy stepped forward it was a simple forward jab, nothing fancy, but Rain reacted in kind, stepping slightly forward and to the side he parried the blow off.
When he did it he felt a wave of excitement! The power behind the blow all be it definitely weakened was by no means not a heavy blow, the feeling of being able to not only accept it, but deflect it to the side was exhilarating!
His happiness continued to climb until he felt something in him slowly suppress it, not like it was taking away the happiness, no it was simply making him not controlled by it. After the exchange he stepped back as did the partner, making distance once more.
The two of them watched each other before Rain himself stepped forward this time, repeating the same move which was a straight jab. It came fast, but it was deflected easily.
This time however seeing Rain didn't pack up, neither did the sparing partner as they began to trade blows, all hits aimed towards his partner were deflected or parried to the side, just as his own blows were. Only when did he began to pick up the intensity did Rain feel he was being suppressed.
But that didn't stop him, he felt electric! This, all be it a spar was the first time he's ever fought someone!
It was back and forth before Rain finally took a hit, it hurt for only a moment but he felt his body slowly erase the pain. With that it was called they stop.
Doing so the both of them stepped back, bowing to each other. Rains eyes staring at him as he did, correcting small mistakes in his posture as he watched.
Seeing this the guy he fought even held it for a bit longer until he seen Rain finish, only then did the bow end.
The instructor spoke immediately afterwards, a few claps around. Some who were watching from the side that were resting were even clapping.
''That's some good skill already! You're calm in the face of adversity and have good instincts, your reaction skills are really great to, better then David's!" He laughed loudly, before turning to the person Rain had been fighting.
''So, Kujo how was he?"
The man now named Kujo spoke. ''He's good, like, really good. If his stance was a bit better and the grin on his face not so apparent, I'd say he's fought before, but it's clear whereas he's had some minor training, he is still very, very new to fighting another person."
"Another note, he knows how to control his strength, I was planning to block more blows, but when I felt how heavy it hit, I decided to parry and deflected. But it seemed he noticed because he began to hold back more, making it much easier to block.''
Kujo pulled up his left sleeve, showing a red area on his forearm, chuckling. ''Definitely going to bruise, guess I'll see in a few days.''
The instructor laughed. ''Good Good! Well, we'll have you participate in a few more spars with others, then after you get tired we'll discuss your payment for everything and see if you want to visit us actively.''
After that Rain continued to fight others, only getting better as he was instructed how to correct his mistakes, proper forms. by the time he finished he actually noticed that his level for 'Hand to Hand' was level 4.

Your skills with fighting your fist have grown, giving a percentage of damage done with your hands to 4%
Clicking on it with his mind while he took a drink of water he noticed he could adjust the level, for now he pushed it back down to only 1, he would still gain experience for it. But this allows him not to end up having some crazy number. If an hour or two brought him this, what would two years give him? Though, that's of course only because he's just starting out.
It'll get high, perhaps but it won't be the only skill he's learning for these two years.
