Lex spurted out water from his mouth instantly, and of course, Justin in front of him getting caught up in that disaster "hey!" he exclaimed

"Sorry, sorry" Lex took out a tissue for him. "I had sickness to spurt out water whenever I heard beautiful girl name," He reasoned while bewildered on the inside (what happened to you Kate!? Since when my gentle Kate become like that!!!)

"What kind of sickness is that!!" Justin retorted

"Well, here" Lex put a pair of candy on Justin's hand again "more importantly, did you just say her name is Kate?"

"it's milady Kate or Kate-SAMA!!" Justin snapped, which made the whole classroom look at him, but no one cared about it as it wasn't his first time like this.

"Okay, okay, Kate-sama, do you watch anime?" Lex tried to change the topic

(so it's really are you Kate… first Ella and now you too Kate, just what happened in this five years!?) Lex took a few seconds to calm himself

"Ahem! I'm sorry, everyone," Justin apologized to the others in the classroom. "I have my fair share of watching."

The next second, Lex pulled out his hand toward him, "Comrade," Which Justin immediately took his hand. "Comrade!!"

And then, Mina intruded in their conversation, "are you two finished?"

""Ah, yes"" they both let out an embarrassed smile

Finally, Priscilla spoke something among them which got the attention of the three "Strange" Priscilla stared straight toward Lex.

Lex felt her eyes scanned his body. Still, he showed an expression like he didn't know about it at all "what's so strange?" he asked. Justin and Mina didn't know what it was too, so they looked at Priscilla.

Priscilla didn't bother by those gazes. She explained, "Usually, everyone would be curious about the transferred student, but no one interested in you."

"ahaha," Lex let out a sad smile "maybe it's because I'm too plain…" he said with a sad tone.

It's the truth and lies at the same time. Lex's ring, the one he got from Livia, could tone down his presence and at the same time gave a minor illusion to mess with other's preception who saw him. His plain face was because of his ring. Then with a plain look transferred student, the other student became a bit less interested in Lex. And that little bit which makes the changes. It's like a ball or balloon. If someone is fully interested in Lex, the ring won't work. But just a bit uninterested can make him forgettable.

"haha," Mina laughed too, "your face is just too plain! It's like I can forget about your face after taking three steps!" she said truthfully without holding back at all.

"Uugh" Lex let out a pained voice just like an arrow just shot across his heart. Even if it's a disguise, it's still hurt when someone talks like that.

Justin wanted to reprimand Mina, but he actually agreed with her. he's just too plain that's why he can only say, "don't mind."

"Ugh!" another arrow was shot to his heart. Justin and Mina laughed looked at Lex's reaction. Priscilla, too let out a slight smile.

The school ended. Just like before, Justin came to Lex again, and Mina said it first, "Spifer, we'll show you around the school."

"Gladly is what I wanted to say, but I'm sorry. I still have a few things I need to do after this. Can you guys show me around tomorrow?" Lex said with an apologetic face.

"there's nothing we can do about it then. See you again tomorrow," Justin said and added by Mina, "bye-bye" then the three Justin, Mina, and Priscilla left the classroom.

(it was pretty fun to be with them, but I still had my work to do today.) Lex waited until he was the only one left in the classroom

(I needed to survey the school's ground and familiarize myself with it for any unexpected situation. I had to request Uncle Paul about Kate's position and status in school. how can I forget about that!)

Lex then strolled around the school's ground. He looked for any hiding place or ambushing place where to run, the route to escape, or if someone wants to break into the school. If a fire breaks out on the school, or earthquake or terrorist, he looked and thought into every scenario available in the school to protect Kate.

Then when he arrived at the school's old gym. He sighed. "Haa~~ no matter in what world what situation this always happened," he muttered as he heard a few girl's voices behind the old gym.

He can clearly hear a few inelegant laughter from those girls. It was bullying

(I'm more or less finished with my scouting on the school. So now it's time for myself! In the past, I had failed once. So let's used this occasion as a practice! To become… a male lead on shoujo manga!!)

Lex peeked first. He saw one girl sitting on the ground with four girls on the other side. Three girls who are clearly bullying the girl on the ground with a burst of laughter, while one timid girl was behind those three.

(Suu~ haa~, Okay! Here we go…) Lex took a step out of his hiding place before he was immediately back to his place again.

Lex approached them slowly. When He saw the bullied girl from behind, he had a familiar feeling that he had seen her before. But that thought immediately blown out from his head (hmm… she's pretty petite and Her long goldish brown hair… I got a feeling she's a cute girl! I want to see her face!)

(ahem! Focus!) by the time Lex's stood behind the bullied girl. The bullies had finally snapped out from their entranced state, rather than getting angry at Lex's sudden intrusion. The three girls instantly had an emergency meeting!

"Anyone knows him?"

"Beautiful ladies," Lex called before he flashed a gentle smile toward the three.

"I'm sorry to bother your entertainment, but can you cease it now?"

"e-eh!"

"this…" the three started to become confused by Lex's sudden request, and finally, the one who stood in the middle between the three who most likely the leader in their group replied, "If that's-"

"Because she's mine!" Lex cut her words. He took the bullied girl's hand and pulled her up. "Kyaa" The girl screamed lightly but was immediately subdued as Lex hugged her and rested her head on his chest.

(Rule number two, they're usually aggressive and possessive!)

For the first time, The bullied girl turned her eyes to her surroundings. Lex can see the confusion in her eyes, but the despair is much more apparent. The girl struggled, but her strength would never outmatch Lex. She can do nothing to get away from Lex.

"See you later, Ladies" then Lex used their confusion as a chance to escape from that place immediately.

"….Lex?" His ears twitched when he heard his real name being called. But once again, he shrugged it off (it must be my imagination, there's no way for others to know my real name here). While pulling the bullied girl away, Lex peeked at the bullies again. He saw the timid girl on the behind eventually snap out from her entranced state.

(Hmm? She looks a bit familiar too…Nah)

After they moved a bit distance from the bullies, Lex finally let go of the bullied girl. The girl quickly took one… two, three, four steps away from Lex. While Lex can't react much to her action because….

As if her body got frozen, The girl felt like she couldn't move her body at all. No… it's because somewhere inside, she didn't feel uncomfortable by his gaze at all. ('what happened to me!? Am I crazy?') she can't help to question her own sanity. Still, she didn't move.

Then she watched as Lex gripped her uniform and started to button it and fix her appearance ('why am I feeling like this!?) Instead of being uncomfortable, she even felt comfortable around him. as if he was always protecting her. The girl turned to face Lex face to face. ('it's like I've seen him before… but who?') she tried her best to guess Lex identity

Which made her miss Lex's hand, which got frozen for one second when he buttoned her shirt (damn! It's bigger than I thought!). His brain overloaded was the reason.

After Lex finished fixing her appearance at the same time, he did his best fighting the beast inside him, so it didn't react. "done," Lex said, and he made the first move away from her and flashed her a gentle smile.

The girl was flustered and embarrassed because of it "t, thank" the girl tried to show her gratitude, but Lex cut her down.

"don't be," Lex replied, "you're going to pay me with your body anyway."

"eh?" The girl was confused by the unexpected reply. when she snapped out her hand, already caught by Lex once again, she saw her gentle smile slowly turning to a perverted smile…
