บท 24: Working myself to the bone and all for magic
It's been 2 months since I leveled up, but I still can't go into the dungeon yet. Going to the guild, I walk over to rose, she's busy with a little girl. She's a short little thing, with golden blonde hair and gold eyes similar to mine, they just don't have the glow mine do.
Undoing my Stealth, I walk over and say.
Sara:"Good morning rose, who's this?"
Rose:"Sara, good morning, this is a new adventurer, I'm sadly stuck as her adviser."
Sara:"Oh please rose, we both know you're a big old softy. Hey don't let her get to you."
Ais:"Alright"
Crouching down in front of her, I brush my hair out of my face.
Sara:"You have pretty eyes, same as mine, make sure to be careful Alright."
Rose:"Great advice coming from you, if only you would follow it yourself."
Sara:"Oh come on! I said I was sorry, I'm being punished for it too. When will you not hold it over me."
Rose:"Never"
Sara:"Guh! You're right. Well, hey, like I said just be careful, more than I am. Oh! I forgot, what's your name young lady?"
Ais:"It's Ais Wallenstein."
Sara:"That's a great name! I'm Sara Hunter, but my alias is Toxotai, I'll see you around, and remember to be careful."
Ais:"Alright"
Sara:"Rose, I wanted to know if you'd have lunch with me."
Rose:"Not today."
Sara:"That's to bad, i'll see you later then, bye you two."
Going to work, I get everything ready for the day, as the people come in, I work the tables. I'd take their orders, tell Mama Mia, bring them their drinks, once their foods done, I'd bring it to them. Just continuing through the day, once it becomes night, adventurers would come, whenever someone got too rowdy, I would warn them. "If you don't settle down, Mama Mia will have you thrown out, but not before you pay, of course."
I had designated days, where I would train, and try making teleportation magic. Because my research towards magic stalled, I started learning about magic circles. Sadly, it's probably going to take a long time, learning this isn't easy. Shortly after I started, Little Ryuu Leveled up, and I went to the celebration.
After about 4 months, I could make a magic circle, it was minor little thing, using mana to form the circle. After it's fully formed, I activate the circle, from the circle, a fireball is made, the amount of mana used is roughly the same, as when I don't make a circle.
Wanting to try more things with it, I start focusing more on the subject. After a week, I was able to use the circle to make a fireball, that was stronger with than without, and using the same mana, if I made 1 without, I would need more mana, for it to be as strong as the fireball with a magic circle.
After 2 months, my circles weren't helping anymore, wanting insight into this matter, I asked mother. She explained that my circles lacked a language, with which to derive power from, wanting to be able to, I asked her to teach me a language that would.
She started teaching me hieroglyphs, the language of the Gods, after 3 months, I had the basics down. Being able to work it into my magic circles, the fireball I started with, became a large fireball, with the same mana, after that I really focused on learning the rest properly.
After a months and a half, I was finally able to understand the language and I passed the test mother gave me. Once I was done, I could make a huge fireball, with everything ready, I started working on my teleportation spell.
After a month, I had the circle complete, I just needed the materials, crystals, and a place to set it up. After half a month of research, I found that I'll need a lot of money, for the building I'll have made, the materials, and very strong crystals.
During my half month of research, I found out something that shocked me, I ran straight to my mother's office after I was done with my research. I knock on the door and say, "Mother there's something important I want to talk to you about." "Ok sweetie, come in and sit down."
Walking in I sit down on the bed, "Mother, I need money to finish my spell, and I want you to allow me back into the dungeon." "I don't know, are you going to end up doing the same thing again?" "No mother, the spell I'm working on is a teleportation spell, one were I'll be able to come back once I make the 2 magic circles."
"Are you sure you'll come home often?" "Yes, I'll be back once a week, if not every day, plus Little Ais and Little Ryuu have Leveled up, I can't just sit around doing nothing." "Ah, I see so that's it, you're jealous your friends can go into the dungeon."
"Guh!" I turn my head to my right, away from mother and say in a pout, "I'm supposed to be an adventurer, not a waitress." "Pfffft hahahaha, okay, but on 1 condition, you have to come back once a week." "Yes mother, thank you!" Getting up I run over to mother and hug her tight.
After a month, I had collected enough money to buy the materials, after some testing, I found that the magic crystals I used weren't enough. I'm going to need bigger ones, so with that in mind, I set out to make a expansion spell, I went down and got a crystal from a Bloodsaurus.
Once I had it, I expanded my first backpack, I made it have as big a space the crystal could give. After that, I finally could get a monster rex crystal. Going down into the dungeon, I make my way to the 27th floor, I quickly find Amphisbaena, killing it was easy, putting the crystal into the backpack, not so much.
Now that I have the crystal, I head to the Xenos, they have more members now. Quickly hugging Fear I say "Fear! I'm sorry I couldn't come down sooner!" "S-Sara! You're back, I'm happy to see you!" "Yeah! I'll be coming to see you every week now!" "Yay, I missed you!" "I missed you too Fear!"
After 5 days with the Xenos, I head back to the surface, dropping off the backpack with the crystal in it at my room, I head over to mother's office. Knocking on the door, I say "Mother can you update my falna?" "Sure sweetie, come in and lay down." After laying down with my back exposed, mother updates my falna.

Over the year and a half I've been forbidden from the dungeon, I've had mother update my falna every month. "Mother, I have almost everything ready, but the last part, I need your permission for." "What dangerous thing would you need my permission for?" "It's nothing dangerous, I just need permission to have a building made."
"What dangerous things are you going to do in this building?" "Come on mom, it's nothing dange- you know what alright, I am going to have a 10×10 meter square room, made of 1 inch thick metal used for armor. I'm going to have it made in case my magic circle has a problem and blows up orario."
"So you are doing something dangerous." "Yes, but I'm being cautious about different problems that could arise." "Well, at least you're being careful, fine I'll allow you to have it made. But you know it's going to be expensive right?" "Yes, but I won't be doing an expedition until I've completed this."
After our talk, I got to work getting the money needed. First, I went to the Goibniu Familia, to get an estimate on how much money I would need, for them to make the building. Second, feel great shock from the amount, 2,100,000,000 valis 2.1 billion valis, oh Gods, why does it have to be so expensive. Third, get over myself and get to work, collecting crystals every day.
After 6 months of collecting crystals, I managed to get half the amount needed, I was able to have them start construction on the room. After 2 months, they finished it, getting everything ready, I started making the fluid catalyst for the permanent spell circle.
The fluid catalyst requires a lot of materials, ones filled with mana, but the the main ingredient, was my blood. Once it was done, I started writing the magic circle, even with the mana in the blood for the catalyst, I had to put mana in every stroke.
It took me 27 hours to finish the whole process of writing it, during the last stretch I was almost out of mana. The only reason I was able to finish it, was because I had 3 skills. First, my passive Mana Recovery, second, Spirit Healing that had just ranked up, and third Mage that also ranked up.
After meditating, I locked the door to the room, and went to bed. After waking up I brought the Amphisbaena's crystal to the room, holding it in air with mana I start chanting the spell, and while I chant, a magic circle appears under me.
"With this place as my home, with the desire to return, with a longing heart, may thus serve as a beacon, always showing the path, back to mother's embrace, as my longing and desire for home, become reality, shine bright my path, so I can return, to mother's warm embrace, BEACON OF HEARTH AND HOME"
As I finish chanting, the magic activates, all my mana and the mana in the crystal, are used as the magic circle flashes, blinding me, the magic circle that was once red liquid, is now a permanent engraving, on the floor of the room, suddenly I feel woozy and pass out while the crystal disintegrates.
Waking up, I find myself in on the bed in mother's office, "Well good morning young lady." Looking to my left, I see mother sitting on a chair next to the bed, "Good morning mother." "Why were you found, in mind down again?"
"I guess Amphisbaena's crystal wasn't enough for the spell, I used my own mana to make up the difference." "The spell still worked." "Amphisbaena, that 2 headed fish dragon." "How did you bring it's crystal out of the dungeon?" I turn my head to the right to look away from mother.
"Answer me Young Lady." I feel sweat running down my face. "Expansion magic, on my old backpack." "What am I going to do with you."
