~week 3~
John was his fathers workshop working on a table size model, If anyone saw the model from his past life they might recognize it as the model Tony used to solve his palladium poisoning issue. Beside it was a second model however instead of a plaza from the expo like his father designed, it was of a 3D stelar body or star as its nucleus, and multiple planets asteroids and moons surrounding it would look like our solar system millions of years ago. Each planet had interlocking plates and would change slightly as it rotated before getting to a specific period of time. some of the asteroids would even split over time creating secondary asteroids. In 2 weeks was another stark Expo, where Tony would display his latest long range anti personal missel. The same missel tony so happens to be shot by in about 5 years, which would cause his palladium poisoning because of the arc reactor he creates. The model was about 10 meters in diameter and if anyone opened up the sun they would see what looked like mini arc reactor powering the whole thing.
Over the last 3 weeks John has mastered the basics of just about every subject. He even spent lots of points in non important subjects like [Guitar Novice], [Painting Novice], even [Calligraphy] which helped with his hand writing and even drawing, it looked far less sloppy. However most of his points went into different languages. 5 even went into the next tier on his skill tree. As he found out, the next tier took multiple points each instead of 1, but the information was much more advanced. 3 point went into [Material science 1] which bringing it to 3/10, which allowed him to work with just about every commercially available material and understand their properties.
The remaining 2 points went into [Energetics 1]. Energetics was broad branch that eventually connected to almost every branch at one point or another. energetics one worked with electric, solar, wind, thermal, and hydro power.
John looked at the computer in front of him and the screen displayed a 3D rendering of his model spinning to a stop. The model of planet earth showed small glowing lines where large cities would be indicating the modern age. The sun started spinning in 2 directions revealing a small version of what appeared to be an arc reactor, sitting on 3 poles extending from the lower section of the sun suspending it in mid air. 2 of the bars had wires that attached to the arc reactor.
However this was not an arc reactor. It was what John called an Arc Battery. One of the ports was for charging. 1 was for negative charge and another for positive charge. While you could charge it with the positive negative like normal batteries he designed it to be charged either through a portable car battery charger or through a custom made charger.
Off too his side was a large 3d Printer printing the last pieces of his model as well as the custom charger casing. John checked the time stamp of the final stages of his models rotation. it finished and stopped spinning randomly May 10th, 2010. the same day stark rediscovers Badassium at 11:59 pm and the sun slowly opens throughout the day of the 11th as it shows the arc reactor and mechanical lock box below. The box was carved with the words Arc Battery and only opened 20 Tony's voice. it wasn't hard getting his voice with all the media about him. creating a sound board that recognized it wasn't too hard either as his mother gladly helped with that. She always makes the software parts of the things they sell in their shop, while his dad does most of the hardware.
Following that he and his mom build a face recognition from over a 100 different photos of stark and installed it into the box. The box has its own built in battery but will maintain a self charge thanks to the arc battery. Its only purpose was to scan for Tony's voice and face. The camera was hidden in the Arc battery wording to look like a fake bolt. When Tony spoke ark battery the camera would turn on and continue scanning until it captured his face giving a clicking sound as the top opened. It was effectively a time capsule that only Tony could open. And if he's paying attention he will notice that the Model when opened showed a 3d representation of badassium. Which will be his own little easter egg. But knowing Jarvis he will probably see images of the model and instantly realize the similarities between it and the new element the moment the model is finished and report it to Tony.
This stark expo being held in the New York office. Where the future stark tower would be built. His model would be donated to stark industries as a center piece for there lobby as they have refurbished it. Of course that's if his model will be chosen, however, the best way to be chosen would be to appeal to Tony's vanity and creativity. With the model enclosed by a large bronze loop with Stark Industries carved into it, as if stark industries encircles the solar system. Without blocking the view of the model too much. the model being made of hundreds of moving parts each planet was built to simulate the solar system going through change. The earth rotated around the sun once a minute. as the asteroids moved at random speeds some slow some as fast as the earth some slightly faster. At the base of the model are 2 clocks. One the depiction of the solar system at the current visual time constantly changing at a fast speed the other a current time. If someone does the math the two times will intersect at exactly may 10th 2010. luckily most of the asteroids are connected early on and only separate later to create more otherwise someone might predict what the model will look like and discover badassium before Tony. He even had to program the model to never once show the same pattern and only finish its cycle on may 10th, 2010, to avoid anyone making a prediction even harder. Anyone can predict the planets trajectory. But the asteroids need to remain random so people think its just a model while the asteroids ad aesthetics. However when the model hits May 10th the moons move out of orbit and the planets follow suit building the Model of badassium while opening up.
Smiling John got up and checked the corner where his Arc battery was charging with a portable car battery charger. Currently his custom charger wasn't complete and he wanted to store the custom charger in the metal box with a blueprint of his arc battery.
The arc batter was made of commercially available materials as well as carbon nanotubes. The tech of MCU was really skewered. The public only used things found in the early 2000s while many companies already had the means to produce higher end things. It's not necessarily that they are holding back but they haven't invented them yet. Even Carbon nanotubes haven't been invented as of yet. In his blue print he had the construction of both styles of nanotubes, followed by multiwalled nanotubes. The 3d printer he bought cost most of his savings and was capable of printing carbon nanotubes with a bit of reprogramming. Something way more advanced than his current time period.
Happy that everything that was working out John went back to his computer before loading everything into his custom internals for his models clock and programming. Once its turned on it will sync to whatever time is set on the clock before the rotation of the planets start there preprogrammed route. He can't have it always on during transport. He also needs to turn it on for the expo display where other artists will display their work. His Sun is made of golden orange colored Solar Paneling in the shape of small hexagons to create its sphere which will be used to slowly charge the batter when sun hits the panels. Not as fast as it uses the power but enough to slow down the drain. Mainly as a guise to how its charged. Since the model will sit in the center of the buildings main lobby and is surrounded by glass and the sun perfectly hits the center especially at mid day as the roof above where the model will sit is glass it will perfectly let sun shine in mid day right on the model. The base where all the moving parts are is built of reinforced black plastic with small holes that allow the light set in the stand to shine through giving the illusion of stars. The model itself can be taken apart and reassembled by anyone as there is a shut off switch which the model returns to a more compact alignment. and the base can fold up around the model and down encase the internals making moving much easier. Although it looks heavy after removing the bronze band which takes up most of its weight. It's actually quite light for its massive size. even with the band it only ways about 700 lbs. since the bronze band is relatively thin and can be separated into 4 parts for transport as well.
Now why was he doing all this? Well he was bored and thought it would be a great long term prank. If questioned he can say he saw an old photo Howard stark in an Expo and saw the model. There where plenty of photos of stark. In fact his family had a picture of his grandfather shaking hands with Howard while standing in front of the model since he was the one Howard commissioned to build it. The photo was even signed. It was hanging on the wall along with photos from many other famous people his father, grandfather, and great grandfather have met. His family produced many custom toys as well as sells some things you can't find much anymore, Old classic toys even. Many famous people don't want there kid to have any cheap toy any other kid can have and asks for custom jobs. They always take the chance to get a photo and have it signed when this happens.
Another reason is because he drew the Arc Battery prototype in a moment of frenzied inspiration when he put points into his [Energetics 1] and [Material Science 1] when he was done and snapped out of it he had already made the blueprint and didn't know what to do with such a powerful battery. So here he is playing the most expensive and elaborate prank in the MCU. Luckily his Parents thought it was a great idea. Not only did they support his materials, they also look forward to the event. The model will be great advertisement for the store as well as a great prank for Tony.
~flashback~
"Mom, Dad! I have a request!" John yelled running down the stairs with his blue print in hand.
His mom was making dinner and his dad was watching the news. Stopping her chopping his mother was surprised he was running down the stairs with such excitement. "WOAH! What's got you so excited about a request?" his mother smiled and asked.
"Come with me hurry!" John yelled running to the shop door not even stopping.
His parents look at each other with confusion before his mother turn the stove on low while the water boiled and followed him out followed shortly by his dad.
Entering the shop they saw him coming in with a large photo under his arm from the show room before placing it on the table.
"So I was looking at the photos today when I noticed something." John says as he points to the model in the background.
"Ah! The model your grandfather had built on Howards Starks request. He always bragged about it." His dad smiled while reminiscing about it.
John ran to the file cabinet that had all the old blueprints of models before finding the ones of his grandfather and finding a file labeled stark expo model. Taking it out and carefully unfolding it so it wouldn't tear, he laid it on the table.
"Anyways after seeing it I realized that it wasn't just a model." John says before taking out a giant sheet of tracing paper and over lapping the blueprint. he then spent about ten minutes tracing the buildings and other structures while ignoring landscaping bushes and walking paths. Finishing he held it up for his parents to see.
His father was confused and didn't understand. But his mother showed a thoughtful look. "It reminds me of 2D models of molecular structure." she says hesitantly. His father also nodded his head agreeing.
"Exactly!" John said excitedly. "But the element is new. It's not any known element. Howard Stark discovered a new element. However based on the technology at the time they never where able to create new elements. But with the Invention of particle accelerators its possible. After Howards death the element must have been lost and forgotten. The Stark expo is in 5 weeks and I wanted to do something."
John says opening his blueprint and laying it out on top of the table. "Arc Battery? like the arc reactor powering the Stark building?" his dad asked in confusion.
"Yes! Howard Stark Designed the first prototype arc reactor. But like the element it was too ahead of its times. Tony stark built the massive ark reactor in Stark Industries but he never officially completed it. It never went public because of the fact that Palladium releases a subtle radiation which is poisonous to humans if exposed too long. However if my guess is correct then the element Howard Stark discovered can replace it. Which means-" John was interrupted by his mother who was excited now as well.
"Howard Stark discovered clean nearly limitless source of energy! This will change the entire Energy industry!"
Smiling John nodded and responded. "Exactly! That's where my requests comes in. I want to build a model for the stark expo next month. They plan to use the winning piece in the center of the buildings main lobby. I spent most my savings ordering my 3D printer and won't have enough for the materials. I was hoping to use some of what we have in storage, It will also be good advertisement for our store. And with our shop building the model for Howard stark I figured if we displayed a copy of the photo with the model, I figured with Tony's vanity and sentiments we would be almost destined to win. The prize money would also pay for the materials." John quickly explained hoping his parents wouldn't turn him down.
"What does this have to do with the element and Arc battery though?" his father asked confused.
Smiling John started explaining his plan and his "prank" as well as his ideas. His mother was quick to agree when he mention his prank and how he would leave a copy of the photo in the time capsule with a blueprint and a letter how they figured its only natural that Tony completes his fathers legacy. Although it wouldn't be discovered for 5 years it made it all the better of a prank and a way to display the arc batteries potential when Tony realizes that the model has been powered by such a small battery and still has half its charge left. While the solar panels where main just for show. In fact the panels would at most save a couple weeks worth of energy while most wouldn't even pay attention and just assume it was filled with multiple batteries and charged via the plug. When in reality it was all a ruse and redundant.
~Flashback end~
"Hehe, can't wait for the stark expo. No doubt that with how smart tony is, there will be way to many coincidences and will disturb him causing him to look back into where the model came from before he shows up at our shop in 5 years!" John was going to enjoy the look on his face when he shows up. It will also give him more time to perfect the arc battery, and create much more powerful battery by then and maybe even create one that once charged could power an electric car for 100 years without a second charge.
sorry im a few hours late. bad storms today. power outage kept me delays. but extra long chapter for your wait! enjoy!
