บท 96: Chapter 96 Mummy
Mei Xia packed her bag as she left the restaurant , she was worried why Anlan wasn't at work today and she wanted to tell Anlan that she had become a suspect of the manager's death. Last night group of police men came to interrogate everyone saying that someone had found the manager's corpse in his office. The news came as a shocker to everyone even the customers, and Mei Cia had overheard the police speaking to woman who told them that the CCTV only showed Anlan and needed to be taken for interrogation.
Mei Xia left quickly and took the bus to Anlan's house to inform her about what happened but unfortunately when she got there no one was home. Mei Xia sighed exhausted why was no one home and why did Anlan not come to work today. She tried calling her phone again but it wasn't going through,Mei Xia was totally worried and now she Anlan wasn't home.
Mei Xia left the apartment walking to the bus stop but later decided to get something from a nearby shop before she left.
Mei Xia walked slowly in a worried and exhausted look written all over her face, she didn't know why the CCTV showed Anlan walking into the manager office but something felt wrong and off but Mei Xia couldn't understand what it was . Just as Mei Xia was about to walk into the show she felt someone hug her legs tightly
"Mummy"A tiny voice said. Mei Xia's body stiffened as she heard the voice call her mummy it reminded her of her own child . She looked down slowly to see a little girl with black hair holding her legs tightly murmuring some words to herself.
"Mummy please don't leave me again I want to go home with you"Ding Xian said crying profusely. Mei Xia bent down to the level of the girl and smiled trying hide to fight back the tears that was going to fall.
"Hey darling are you lost?"Mei Xia asked with a shaky voice
"No I'm not lost..I just want to go home with mummy"Ding Xi'an said holding Mei Xia's hand
"I'm not your mummy beauty.. you would have lost your way while running around"Mei Xia said and smiled wiping of the girls tears but as she said the word Mei Xia felt her heart tighten making it hard for her to breathe
"Mummy are you alright?"Ding Xian asked worriedly almost at the verge of crying again
"I'm alright..we would have to take you home now"Mei Xia said standing up as she took Ding Xi'an hand ,Ding Xi'an refused to leave holding her tightly
"I don't want to go"Ding Xi'an cried "please let me go with you"Ding Xi'an begged and Mei Xia felt her heart tighten more why did does the girl tears make her feel pains? . A woman walked up to them and dragged Ding Xian away arrogantly and just as she looked up to see Mei Xia face her face froze,why was she here the woman was shocked to see her face did this little brat want to put her in trouble
Mei Xia couldn't see the woman's reaction because of the pains she ft it was too painful
"L-let's go "The woman spoke and dragged Ding Xian away
"mummy please don't leave again please"Ding Xian yelled struggling to free herself but her grip was tight, Mei Xia looked up shocked what does she mean by again? And her eyes met the woman who was dragging Ding Xian, she looked somewhat familiar but Mei Xia couldn't recollect and watched them get lost in the crowd
