บท 5: Chapter 4 Thompson

Thompson mansion

" Great Grandpa." Someone screamed as Sir Charles was wheeled into the large dining area. The delicious aromas from the kitchen drifted across the house, giving it an unusual homely atmosphere. This mansion was anything but a home. Mrs. Thompson birthed two children. She had a son and a daughter, who was already married with the grandchild who just slammed into his grandfather's weak body.

"Omph, still strong as ever I see." Charles smiled at the four-year-old boy, running his wrinkled fingers through his black silky hair.

"Father."

"Micheal."

Charles greeted his heartless son. He hated that he grew up the way he did. His late wife was a cold woman who was forced into marriage with him. She turned his only son, his only child, this way. But he couldn't put all the blame on her. Maybe if he tried to love her, he could have thawed her cold heart. Maybe if he did not ignore her existence and slept with other women, this mansion would be home. Maybe if he spent time with his family, he would have taught his son to love. But by the time he realized his wrongdoings, it was too late. His wife was dead and his son was long gone leaving a shell of a man behind.

He tried, God knows he did. He tried to create a better environment for his grandchildren. He tried to make them understand love and how to give it. But he failed. His grandson was just as heartless and cold as his father, their mother was a gold digger who only cared about herself. Sometimes, she forgot she had children.

Once he had heard that their father had abandoned him outside under the heavy rain to punish them for lying. His granddaughter was the only child he could save. Her father never cared for her anyways. He only demanded sons from his gold digger of a wife and her mother shot her out of her Vagina and the next day she was on a plane to Los Angeles for a fashion show. He had raised his granddaughter with her nanny and she grew up to be his diamond. She was married to a man who loved her but unfortunately, love wasn't enough. She was still cut off from the family and degraded for her marriage to a common manager who had no wealth to his name. He stood by his granddaughter and encouraged her to be happy with her marriage. Immediately she moved in with her husband, he found no reason to stay in this cold mansion with strangers who were always never around. He moved to the senior center but that wasn't enough. Every day, his investigators informed him about the activities of his grandson. Every day, the young man grew to be more ruthless and more heartless. If that was even possible. He treated women like shit and men like scum. Every day the man became more of a monster and less of a human being. He feared he would lose his grandson just as he lost his son and he wasn't about to let that happen.

He had only one option left. He was too old to teach his grandson, so he was going to use a pure heart to teach him, love. To teach him that the world wasn't as evil as he was thought. That there were still good people in this world.

Samara was his last hope. He knew this may be dangerous not for his grandson but his dear Samara. But she was his last hope. He knew that she was the only one to save his baby and he was going to do anything to force this marriage. He was ready to fall back to his old ways as a cold and heartless business tycoon. He gained that name because of his cunning ways in business. His parents were poor and he had to find a way to survive. He learned the evil ways of doing business. His wrinkly hands had taken so many lives. Every day he regretted his actions, it was like a deep hole swallowing him up from the inside. He would die before his grandson has the same fate.

"Dinner is served." The chief butler announced before bowing and signaling the waiters to start dishing out the food as soon as everyone was seated.

The table was so silent. One could only hear the clinking of utensils and the scraping of plates. The air was so tense. It was choking the waiters standing close by. Even little Daniel knew he could not blab as every other four-year-old blab to their extended family members. Every one of them wanted to be somewhere else.

Clearing his throat, Charles took a deep breath which caught everyone's attention. "I am dying." He whispered as he ate the small piece of chicken his fork carried. He carried on eating like nothing happened but he knew his news was heard loud and clear by everyone. His granddaughter had tears in her eyes as she asked the question everyone wanted to ask.

"What do you mean?"

Charles put his utensils down and looked at the eyes of each family member.

"I.Am.Dying"
