[Endless Love]
It is an unpopular novel that has always been criticized and always received hate. People avoid reading the novel because of the reason 'the plot is too cliché' or 'it's too predictable...
But not for me.
My name is Jane and I live in the United States. My hobby is reading novels for fun and currently, I'm at almost the end of the novel [Endless Love]. People might be thinking:
'Why are you still reading such a crappy novel?'
Well, I am the type of person 'who finishes what she started. No matter how crappy or dumb a novel is I always finish it because if I don't it somehow leaves a bad taste in my mouth. And that is not the only reason why I managed to reach the end of the novel [Endless Love].
"Poor bastards, they should've read the novel till the end, the plot twist is good."
In the latter half of the novel unexpected twists emerged.
The novel is a story of a young duke and a lost princess of another kingdom. The female lead of the story, the lost princess 'Finesse del Rutchel' encountered an unfortunate event where her family is annihilated by the kingdom 'Reece' and is also the kingdom the young duke 'Noah Viscellete' is serving.
The only survivor of Finesse's family is her older sister named Viana. And together they live in a forest where monsters lived to hide. They lived in the Forest of Death for eight years and after the female lead's 18th birthday she met the male lead.
The male lead Noah, searching for the female lead by the order of the crown prince met the female lead when he happens to check the area while hunting alone. And at first sight, he fell in love with the female lead.
At first, Noah didn't recognize Finesse as the princess of the fallen kingdom and visits her frequently but as the chapters go on he slowly realized the true identity of Finesse. Noah thought it was fine since he loves her but the crown prince's order struck him like lightning.
'Get rid of her or imprison her, the choice is yours. She is a threat for our kingdom and so as for the other kingdoms.'
'May I ask why?'
'Even though it is a fallen kingdom she has royal blood it means she would be the last ruler standing for her kingdom. Either make her ours or kill her. But I doubt she will easily cooperate with us so if she resists, get rid of her.'
Worried, Noah kept the findings of the lost princess a secret from the crown prince. And because of that the neighboring kingdom of Reece eventually found out about Finesse and planned to assassinate her in the middle of the night.
Fortunately.
At that time when the assassination happened, Noah and Finesse are not in the house they were living on in the forest and manage to survive the assassination.
Unfortunately.
Her sister Viana died instead...
Devastated, Finesse went on a psychotic breakdown and locked herself in her room on the duke's estate. Meanwhile, Noah hunted down the perpetrators of the assassination and got revenge for Finesse.
You might be thinking that 'they lived happily ever after that.
No. This is where the twist starts.
Despite getting revenge for her, Finesse still locked herself in her room, always blaming herself that she should've died in her sister's stead. Because of that Noah ran out of ideas to cheer her up and just left her alone.
Meanwhile...
The kingdom that planned the assassination was enraged by the duke's action and accepted it as a declaration of war and wages war with the Reece kingdom. The Reece kingdom won the war but countless casualties were accumulated. The Reece kingdom's people also started to point their fingers at the duke and blamed him for his selfish actions.
While the kingdom was in chaos the evil archmage of Finesse's fallen kingdom, Ash, used the chaos to his advantage and opened the portal to the demon world, and planned to conquer the whole continent.
When Ash almost succeeded to conquer the continent, the duke, Noah came back and confronted the evil archmage with his powerful allies. And after the battle with the demon world and the archmage, the duke successfully defeated the archmage... For a cost.
Noah's allies sacrificed their lives to defeat the demons and seal the portal of the demon world. And of course, Noah sacrificed himself too.
Finesse heard the news and felt devastated again and fell into deep despair. She couldn't handle the sadness, pain, and loneliness of losing her loved ones one after another so she eventually accepted the whispers of the evil spirits that were with her ever since she fell into despair and committed suicide.
[The End]
I stared at my phone for a couple of minutes before feeling something snapped at my head.
It's my patience.
"WHAT BULLSHIT!"
Jane threw her phone on the bed and stomped at the ground. She then slumped at her bed and read the tags of the novel.
"What the hell?! There are no tragedy tags here so why did they die?! Don't tell me the author forgot to add the tragedy tag? The most important tag!"
'Actually, I knew it already, that the story might end in a tragedy based on how the plot goes but I held on because I thought everything will be fine in the end. It's all because I didn't see that damned tragedy tag! I got my hopes up for nothing!'
She held onto her phone again and starts to message the author.
[Author what was that?! Why did they die?! Did you forgot to add the tragedy tag?! The most important tag for stories like this?!]
I send the message and covered myself with the blanket while muttering angrily. It's all about the rants I have for the author, the characters, and the crappy story. I felt so displeased that I frowned deeply while my veins are popping on my head and then...
Ring!
As if possessed she immediately grabbed her phone and opened the notification. Then her anger started to boil more intensely.
'The author!'
She carefully read the message while trying to calm down her anger.
[The story is not meant to be a tragedy. It is supposed to be a happy ending where the heroes are acknowledged and respected. I apologized if you are not happy with the ending ^_^]
"...What bullshit is that?"
Snap!
As if she held something disgusting, she threw the phone while pounding her pillow... more precisely, she's destroying her pillow.
"It didn't mean to be tragedy?! Are you kidding me?! Then why did you wrote that they died in the end then?! There are even no survivors left! The kingdoms of the continent collapsed and the population decreased by more than a half! How is that not tragedy?! How stupid! I'll never read what that damned author will write ever again!"
She pounded on her pillow for a while then finally laid down on her bed because of exhaustion. She closed her eyes and started to sleep.
Ring!
Jane frowned while knowing who is the sender of the message before even opening it.
'It is the author.'
And how can she be so sure about that?
Simple.
She's a loner. She was an orphan and luckily got a job at the age of nineteen as a janitor. The salary might be low but it was enough to feed herself. She had no friends at work because of her status as an orphan and for other reasons. At work, your history and background matter and that is what Jane found the worse in her workplace. That's why reading novels is the only thing that cheers her up.
She ignored the message and went to sleep while wearing a deep frown on her face. But if only she knew what would happen to her, she would not ignore that text and would read it.
[How about you save the story from tragedy then?]
And that is the start of her journey to save that damned plot.
