"How long has it been?" Rey asked.
"Three hours." Hugo said.
"He's been there for nine hours now." Rey said as his grew unsightly.
In the dungeon, one hour was equal to three hours so three hours in the outside world is equal to nine hours inside the dungeon.
'Impossible! How could he possibly still be alive!' Rey said.
Leo looked at Rey gloatingly.
"Hey Rey~~~ thirty million okayyy?" Leo said with a slight smile.
"Hmp! Don't be so cocky! The fact that he's still alive doesn't mean he can clear the dungeon. Maybe he's alive but inj-" But just before he could finish his sentence, the portal started to shimmer.
"Huh? What's happening?" Hugo said.
"That's the sign of someone using a Return Stone" Tora explained as she looked at the device on her hands. There was no one inside the dungeon any longer.
"Return Stone?" Hugo said confusedly.
"What? You don't know about Return Stones?" Tora asked. Surprised.
Hugo shook his head. "Although this little town of ours was the first to have SMBs, the fact that it is in a remote place, almost in the mountains is a factor that we can't change. After other cities had meteors too, Irosin became just any other normal SMB filled town. That's why the information that we hold regarding dungeons aren't that solid. Especially when portals appeared just three years ago"
Tora nodded.
Leo's eyes shined while Rey's face was very unsightly.
'Is this him!? Did he make it out alive?? And he's using a Return Stone! A return stone can only be extracted from the boss. And when the boss is killed, return stones would then appear in a certain location inside the dungeon!' Leo thought to himself.
'Thirty million ah thirty million!' Leo continued to talk to himself inwardly as he couldn't help but let out a light chuckle.
Rey snorted when he heard Leo's laugh.
'F*ck' He thought to himself.
And in an instant, a man wearing a plague doctor mask clad in a robe.
'Who are these people? And their eyes... Even without the system informing me, I can tell that they are all'
'A ranks!'
Shin gasped inwardly. His eyes shifted from left to right. He noticed that there were more than a hundred C ranks present.
Then, Leo started to walk towards Shin.
"Hahahahaha. My good friend, my best friend!! You are so beautiful! Hahahahahahaha" Leo laughed with joy as he took up Shin's hands and shook them.
"I am Leo and you... Well, you're my best friend from now on! Hahahahahah"
Rey snorted and then said, "we're leaving"
He looked at Shin with displeasure. This caused Shin to feel surprised.
'Who is he? Why is he looking at me like that?' Shin thought to himself. Completely oblivious to the fact that Rey and Leo betted between themselves whether Shin lives or dies!
"Oh? Are you reneging on our bet? My my... The honorable and most honest Rey from the most famous World Protection guild is actually reneging on our bet!" Leo said dramatically as he put his right hand on his head and bended his knees a little. His body arched into a slight C.
'Bet? What bet? Does this have something to do with that tall man looking at me like he wants to kill me?' Shin thought to himself.
"Ha! Who told you I was going to pay??"Rey said as he signalled to his teammates.
In the blink of an eye, one of his teammate called Don, activated his skill called Warp. Which instantly teleported him behind Karl.
"Give up your phone or I'll kill you" Don said as he whispered into Hugo's ear with a knife aimed at his back.
"Woah! So this is how you want to play huh?" Leo said.
The group of SMBs all started to clamor as they all whispered to themselves.
"Shameless!"
"Reneging on a bet!"
"Ha! So this is how a rank A SMB acts."
"Such a disgrace"
They all looked at Rey and his group in disgust.
"Quiet!" Rey shouted angrily. His frightening presence silenced all of them.
The countless C rank SMBs fell silent. This included the two B ranks.
"Rey you're going too far" Tora said as she frowned at the scene.
"Ye-yes yes... Please release me. I'll give you the phone" Hugo stuttered and said. Fear was evident on his face.
"If you give it to him. You'll regret it" Leo said.
Hugo froze. Being threatened by two A ranks. How was he supposed to react?!
'F*ck! Why did it have to be me! Why did I have to record it...' Hugo thought to himself as he prayed for salvation.
Shin looked at the scene in confusion.
"Don't push your luck Leo" Rey said as he stared daggers at Leo.
"Tsk! Why even bet if you don't have enough money in the first place? Are you so cocky that you don't think I can't shove my foot up your ass?" Leo said as he complained.
"Don't make me laugh! You're not even a member of the Team A of your guild! What can you do to me?" Rey said as he chortled.
"There's a reason why I'm the captain of the Team B of our guild" Leo said calmly. His face bore not a single trace of that jolly smile earlier. Instead, it was a serious face and an infinite calmness.
He flicked his finger and in an instant, Don who was pointing at Hugo's back with a knife suddenly appeared on a cracked wall with a resounding boom.
Leo was no longer in his place.
"You still want to fight?" Leo said coolly.
'What?!' Shin, Rey, Hugo and all of the other SMBs present all exclaimed in their minds.
What the f*ck was that? What just happened!?
Heavens!
What did I see?
The only person who was not shocked was Tora. As someone who knows Leo since they were kids, she knew exactly what his powers were. But due to them swearing an oath, she wasn't permitted to tell others.
Although Leo was a famous A rank SMB, his powers were always a mystery and know that they have seen it first hand.
It really was mysterious!
Shin was dumbfounded.
'System what just happened?' Shin thought.
[Ding Ding! It seems that the SMB called Leo used a skill that enabled him to stop time, or he is tremendously fast.]
'A Time-related ability? Super speed?' Shin fell into deep thought.
Rey looked at Leo with fear.
He knew for himself that he himself could not easily take down Don like that. If Leo could take down Don as easy as flicking his fingers, then he believed that he himself wouldn't pose much of a threat!
"Tsk. Fine. I'll send it to you later" Rey said unwillingly with a frown.
"And I'm supposed to just take your word for it?" Leo raised his right eyebrow.
"Assh*le. Fine! Then keep this" Rey said as he grabbed the necklace concealed on top of his chest and threw it towards Leo.
"This is my mother's! If you dare ruin it. I swear that not even this country's laws will stop me from killing you" Rey threatened.
Leo caught the necklace and then smiled.
"It's been a pleasure doing business with you" Leo said with a smile.
"Let's go!" Rey said to his teammates. He was obviously pissed off. One of his teammates picked Don up and then they all boarded their jets. After a few moments, they disappeared into the horizon.
Hugo was finally able to heave a sigh of relief. He then looked at Shin and smiled. His eyes dazzling.
"Hello sir! I am Hugo. The representative of Irosin's three guilds." Hugo said as he walked towards Shin.
Shin took of his mask. A pale white hair appeared as a person who was not that handsome but had a charming allure became bare to the world.
His appearance was nothing like the original Shin! Even his skin color was pale white.
"Hi. I'm Silas. It's a pleasure to meet you" Shin said with a smile.
