บท 88: Chapter 71 edited

With a pale yet resolute demeanor, Kage returns to the table, his determination evident in every step. As he readies himself for the next round of the game, he addresses the table with a wry apology, "Sorry. That last hand almost did me in." Turning to the waiter, he requests a change in his drink preference, "Water, if you would."

Le Chiffre's composure wavers slightly at Kage's return, a hint of unsettlement flickering across his features.

Meanwhile, Wolpert, now out of money, tosses his cards in and offers Kage a small, knowing smile. With only five players remaining, the marathon session begins to take its toll, evident in the fatigue that weighs heavily on the players' shoulders. Yet, amidst the exhaustion, Kage's stack of chips steadily grows, his resilience unmatched.

As the game progresses, one by one, players dissolve from the table, their chairs left empty as the dealer, too, succumbs to exhaustion and packs up for another break.

After the brief respite, the players return to the table, with Kage appearing alert and focused while Infante and Le Chiffre, despite their attempts to combat fatigue with espressos, show signs of weariness. Kage, however, remains seemingly unaffected by the grueling hours.

As the tension at the table mounts, the dealer announces, "Big blind now one million," prompting Kage to confidently place a million-dollar plaque in the designated spot. Beside him, Fukutu matches with a $500,000 chip for the small blind.

The community cards are revealed: Ah, 6s, 8s.

Le Chiffre's hand, Ac and 6h, already boasts two pairs, intensifying the stakes.

Kage assesses his own hand, 7s and another low spade, hinting at a possible flush. Fukutu holds Ks and Qs, also hinting at a flush possibility, while Infante reveals 8c and 8h, securing three of a kind.

Le Chiffre raises the bet to "Five million," prompting the others to match. Lady Jaye and Mathias watch with bated breath as Mathias calculates, "Twenty-four million in the pot already."

The tension escalates with each passing moment. The next community card, the elusive spade, is laid down. Fukutu reconsiders his options and decides to go all in with his remaining chips. With everyone matching his bet, the pot swells further.

Observing from the sidelines, Lady Jaye and Mathias analyze the unfolding drama. Mathias murmurs to her, "Possible flush, possible full house, two pairs? Sixty million in the pot."

As the intensity of the hand reaches its peak, Le Chiffre and Kage lock eyes, a silent battle of wills ensuing. Meanwhile, Wolpert, having left the bar to witness the pivotal moment, joins the spectators.

With anticipation at its peak, the dealer deals the final card—the Ace of Spades. Mathias leans in once more, whispering to Lady Jaye, "Somebody's got the full house." The tension reaches its zenith as the players await the final reveal.

As the tension reaches its peak, Le Chiffre and Infante both reveal full houses, with Le Chiffre holding the superior hand. Despite this, Infante exudes confidence, pushing all his remaining chips forward and declaring, "Five million dollars."

Le Chiffre, unfazed, smiles at Kage and ups the ante, "Ten."

Kage's eyes flicker between the community cards and Le Chiffre, weighing his options carefully. Meanwhile, Mathias and Lady Jaye watch from the sidelines, their concern evident. Lady Jaye whispers, "He's going to do it again, isn't he?"

Mathias sighs, resigned to the impending outcome, "Le Chiffre must have the full house. Kage's flush will be beaten. He's been trying to bluff, and then he'll have nothing to bluff with. He should keep what he has."

Kage pauses, contemplating his next move. After a long moment of deliberation, he gathers his chips and plaques, pushing them all into the center of the table. "All in," he declares, his voice steady.

The dealer swiftly tallies Kage's chips, announcing, "Ten million dollars," as Mathias and Lady Jaye look on in disbelief at the audacious scene unfolding before them.

Back at the table, Le Chiffre's gaze locks with Kage's, his expression inscrutable as he considers his cards once more. With a smile, he ultimately pushes his remaining chips forward and concedes, "Very well." The stakes couldn't be higher as the players brace themselves for the climax of the intense showdown.

As the tension in the room reaches a palpable climax, a stunned silence descends upon the players and spectators alike, all eyes fixated on the mountain of plaques and chips amassed on the table.

The dealer breaks the silence, addressing the players, "Please show your cards, gentlemen."

One by one, the players reveal their hands. Fukutu proudly displays his spades flush, earning a nod of acknowledgment from the dealer. "Ace, King, Queen flush," the dealer confirms.

Infante follows suit, laying down his pair of eights, prompting the dealer to announce, "Full house. Eights full of aces."

Le Chiffre confidently reveals his hand, showing his Ace and Six: another full house. With victory seemingly assured, he abandons his poker face, grinning wolfishly as he awaits the final verdict.

But then it's Kage's turn. With a calm demeanor, he places his cards down, prompting Le Chiffre's grin to falter.

The dealer spreads Kage's cards over the community cards, declaring, "Four through eight of spades, the high hand."

Le Chiffre's expression shifts from confidence to disbelief as the reality of defeat sinks in. A small red globule appears in the corner of his eye, a testament to his mounting frustration. He quickly wipes it away, his gaze locking with Kage's in a silent glare. Without a word, he abruptly leaves the table, disappearing from view.

Meanwhile, Kage makes his way to the bar, where Lady Jaye awaits with a congratulatory smile. "Congratulations. I had some faith in winning," she remarks.

Kage responds with a playful jest, "Some."

Lady Jaye smiles in return, her expression speaking volumes.

Sensing the lingering tension, Kage suggests, "It's best to move away from here. I'm sure Le Chiffre, in his anxious state, will try something."

Lady Jaye nods in agreement, and together they depart from the scene.

In the dimly lit safe house, Alexander and Lady Jaye found refuge, they were readying there wepons and putting on there gears. Suddenly, Lady Jaye's phone buzzed with urgency, an alert from Breaker demanding their attention.

With a quick glance at the message, Lady Jaye relayed the critical information to Alexander, her voice laced with concern, "We got info from Valenka. They're on a tramp steamer in the docks, and someone from the organization is attacking them."

Alexander's jaw clenched in determination as he nodded, fully aware of the gravity of the situation. Without hesitation, they sprung into action, swiftly making their way to the docks to confront the imminent threat head-on.

In the choppy waters of the harbor, ominous clouds looming overhead. The rusty tramp steamer creaks and groans as it rocks with the waves. Le Chiffre, flanked by his loyal henchmen, stands at the edge of the deck, his eyes scanning the horizon.

"Did you find him?" Le Chiffre's voice cuts through the tension, his gaze piercing Kratt, who stands nearby.

Kratt's jaw tightens as he shakes his head. "I have men stationed all over the city, we will find him," he reassures, his tone strained.

Le Chiffre's frustration boils over, his voice rising to a furious crescendo. "Then get more men! We need the money, or we are dead!" he barks, the urgency palpable in his words.

With a grim nod, Kratt pivots on his heel and strides off, leaving Le Chiffre seething with impatience. Valenka, her intuition tingling with foreboding, approaches him tentatively, her expression a mask of false concern.

"We will find him, won't we?" she asks softly, her voice laced with apprehension.

Le Chiffre's brow furrows deeper, his lips forming a tight line as he mutters under his breath, "We need the money, otherwise they will kill us all."

Valenka steps closer, her hand resting gently on his arm as she offers fake reassurance. "Sit down and calm down," she urges, her voice steady and soothing. "We know the man has not left the city. Kratt will find him."

Le Chiffre nods tersely, sinking into a weathered chair nearby, his mind racing with desperate schemes. Valenka lingers for a moment, casting one last worried glance over her shoulder before disappearing into the shadows of the ship's interior.

Valenka's heart pounds in her chest as she slips into a dimly lit room, her fingers flying over the keys of her phone with urgent precision. She crafts a terse message to Kage, her thoughts racing as she types. With a final, hurried press of the send button, she exhales a shaky breath, knowing that time is of the essence.

As the gunshots echoed outside and Kratt's panicked voice pierced the air," It's white, they are here."Valenka knew she had to act quickly to evade detection until Mr. Kage arrived. She didn't care about Le Chiffre, who was sitting inside waiting for news about Kage's capture, which she knew is not really a great plan.

With a sense of urgency, she darted to the side of the room and retrieved the shield device provided by Lady Jaye.

With practiced precision, Valenka activated the device with a single tap, causing a hexagonal-shaped sphere to materialize around her. The material appeared formidable, emitting a faint blue glow that hinted at its strength. With another tap, she engaged the camouflage feature, causing the sphere to blend seamlessly into its surroundings, rendering Valenka invisible to the naked eye.

As Mr. White and his men stormed into the room, their guns drawn and ready, Valenka remained hidden within the protective sphere, holding her breath to avoid making any noise. With relief flooding her senses, she watched silently as Mr. White and his men searched the area, oblivious to her presence.

Finally, as they moved on to the next room, Valenka released the breath she had been holding, grateful for the temporary sanctuary provided by the shield device. With patience and determination, she awaited the arrival of Mr. Kage, knowing that her safety now lay in his capable hands.

Kage and Lady Jaye, their senses honed to a razor's edge, stealthily approach the designated location. Each movement is calculated, their steps synchronized as they cover each other's backs.

Lady Jaye checking her side said,"It's clear,no one there."

Kage nodded, as both slowly made there way in. Kage could tell by his heightened senses that there bloody shootout here and only one person seems to have survived

As they round a corner, their eyes widen at the sight of Kratt and Le Chiffre's cronies strewn lifeless on the ground, victims of a brutal shootout. Undeterred, they press forward, their determination unwavering.

The eerie silence of the tramp steamer envelops them as they advance deeper.

Soon Kage arrived at room and saw Le Chiffre's dead body.

While Lady Jaye was assessing the situation as she covers the adjoining room. With a careful sweep,

Valenka, her hands trembling with adrenaline, swiftly deactivates the shielding upon catching sight of Kage and Lady Jaye. In an instant, she becomes visible to everyone in the room, her previously concealed presence laid bare.

Lady Jaye approaches, her calm demeanor a and with a gentle touch, Lady Jaye offers comfort to trembling Valenka.

Lady Jaye adopts a reassuring tone. "Did you see who killed them?" she asks, her voice steady despite the gravity of the situation.

Valenka nods, her voice trembling slightly as she responds, "It was White. He was always the one who visited Le Chiffre for the duties of the organization."

Kage and Lady Jaye exchange a knowing glance, their suspicions confirmed. Valenka then produces a cellphone, her hands shaking as she passes it to Kage.

"This was Le Chiffre's," she explains hastily. "He contacted White on this phone. We usually destroy the cellphone upon... but I managed to save it."

Kage takes the cellphone, his fingers deftly navigating its functions. With a swift motion, he accesses the address book, his eyes narrowing as he confirms their suspicions: Mr. White's name stares back at him from the screen.
