However, as moments passed, nothing occurred. The expected blood splatter and the activation of the Four Symbols seal remained absent. The silence was broken only by the faint rustling of the settling dust, and Uchiha Natsu, with a demonic sneer, watched as it covered Danzo's neck.
"You... I..." Danzo was left dumbfounded, and a wave of despair overwhelmed him. Even denied the last means of suicide, he could only helplessly witness the excruciating passage of his life—a punishment more agonizing than death.
His entire body was immobilized, only his head retained the ability to think, and his eyes reflected infinite panic as the dust gradually shrouded his consciousness. As the line of sight narrowed and the dust-covered his mouth, tongue, nose, and ears, Danzo's eyes plunged into complete darkness, and his thoughts faded away.
In a daze, he envisioned his body covered in dust, attempting to return but failing. His perspective rose uncontrollably, drifting into nothingness. As he faced death, the extreme panic and despair that consumed him left him with his soul, yet these emotions continued to torment him in the afterlife.
In the ice mirror-covered basement, mist drifting in the hoarfrost-covered air, Danzo's body transformed into dust and gradually assumed the appearance of Uchiha Itachi.
Standing beside the scroll, Uchiha Natsu folded his hands on his chest, silently observing the young man who had once harbored intentions of massacring his clan.
Despite feeling Uchiha Itachi's remorse in his final moments, Uchiha Natsu showed no mercy. He harbored a slight hope that Itachi might awaken and spare him the trouble.
Reincarnated, Uchiha Itachi knelt on the ground, opening his eyes with dazed emotions. Confronted by Uchiha Natsu, he murmured, "Uchiha...Natsu?" The fear instilled by Uchiha Natsu during his lifetime resurfaced as he gazed at him.
Uchiha Natsu, with narrowed eyes, spoke coldly, "Itachi, do you still remember what happened yesterday?"
"What happened yesterday?" Itachi recalled, quickly checking his hands and feeling his eye sockets. In his last memory, he had lost both eyes and hands.
Uchiha Natsu calmly stated, "You are now temporarily resurrected by me using the technique of Edo Tensei." Itachi froze, his eyes dimming.
Expressing remorse, he said, "I'm sorry," acknowledging the clarity Uchiha Natsu provided him before his death. Despite being defeated by Uchiha Natsu, Itachi harbored no resentment and felt grateful for the opportunity to see himself.
The two engaged in a conversation, during which Itachi shared the events leading to his death. Learning about Danzo's actions, Uchiha Natsu frowned, considering him despicable.
With Danzo dead, Uchiha Natsu believed the grievances should come to an end. As the hoarfrost melted in the basement, making the atmosphere damp and uncomfortable, the two conversed for an extended period.
Finally, Uchiha Natsu revealed the aftermath of Itachi's actions—Izumi's mother was seriously injured, Tiehuo's mother turned into a vegetable, and Itachi's mother died beyond treatment.
Overwhelmed with regret, Itachi apologized sincerely. Uchiha Natsu, despite noting the futility of apologies, shared that there was a way to save Itachi's mother—he needed Itachi's soul.
