Xu Family's company, Ji Yao's office.

"Aunt had an accident, but don't worry, I've taken care of it."

This sentence from Xu Ye made Ji Yao stop her work; she set her pen down and anxiously stood up.

She should have done something, but now she was pacing back and forth, directionless like a headless fly.

Her mother was abroad; what could she do?

"What happened to my mom?"

Ji Yao didn't even notice her voice trembling or her eyes reddening.

"When I came here on a business trip I made a side trip to visit your aunt, only to discover her illness had worsened, but the situation here has now stabilized, don't worry."

Ji Yao's hand not holding the phone clenched into a fist, then relaxed, and it was a while before she answered with a hoarse voice.

"Thank you for handling this; if surgery is needed, please send the bill to me."
