Enma was seated on a public flying ship, direction Republic of Padokia.
'To reach Heaven's arena, it's a 4 days trip from here. I'll train Ten in the meanwhile.
Oh! Last one!'
Enma threw a fried spider in his mouth.
[1000/1000]
'The taste was even better than what I expected.'
The parchment in his hand decomposed in light fragments.
'Here we go!'
The teen closed his eyes to deal with the incoming pain.
The awaited feeling didn't appear this time.
'What? That's it? I don't feel any different… Was I scammed?
Well, spider-sense was mainly active in the presence of danger around Peter.
If it's anything like in the comics… let's just say that I'll have another cheat ability.'
…
-4 days later-
Enma was sitting cross legged in his own compartment.
It's been 4 days, and other than eating and sleeping (and using the toilet), he used all his time to train Nen.
While getting accustomed to Ten, he also learnt the principles of another of the 4 basic techniques, Ren.
Ren was a direct application of Ten. When a Nen user is capable of keeping aura from leaking away, it's also possible for them to produce more Nen.
Ren focuses on outputting a high amount of aura and keeping it around the body.
If Ten is considered to be purely defensive, then Ren's typically what is used for offense cause it increases the user's physical strength and durability.
Also, by infusing intent into the overflowing aura, Ren can be used to mentally pressure those who are weaker.
Bzzz! Bzzz!
Abruptly Enma felt a tingling sensation at the base of the neck. Instantly he turned his head towards the door.
A second later the door opened and a flight attendant spoke.
"Sir! We are arriving at destination. Please, prepare to disembark."
After that she closed the door and went to the next compartment.
'That was curious… I subconsciously knew that something was going to happen before it happened. It means that my brain picked up sounds, smells etc. that the conscious me could not… amazing.
I can already see the tower from here.
I'll probably meet the kids in a couple of days.
Speaking of them, Leorio called me again yesterday...'
…
-The day prior-
While Enma was making his way towards Heaven's Arena, Killua, Gon, Kurapika and Leorio were at a flying ship's port.
"It's decided, let's meet on the 1st of September in Yorknew city!"
Everybody said.
"I'll tell Enma myself, don't worry."
Added Leorio.
…
-Present day-
In one of the trashiest hotel of Heaven's city, Enma had booked a room for a couple of days.
The room, at that moment, was pervaded in mist, and the teen was emanating green energy.
It was Monday.

'First and third are easy to get.
I can't see many uses for the cloak, so it can be excluded.
The third is the one which gives immediate results. Also, having double healing speed would be perfect when combined with itto shura.
The second is surely the best one. I could really cut short my training time. Also, now that I'm here at the arena, it'll be fairly easy to accomplish the condition set by the Merchant.
Ok, I've decided.'
"Number 2!"
…
Heaven's Arena.
With its 991 meters of height, It was one of the 4 tallest building in the entire world.
The tower had 251 floors. Inside, thousands of martial artists competed daily in order to test their skills and advance to higher floors.
Most of the Competitors were lured by the prize money given by the tower for advancing on each of the first 199 floors.
Also, after reaching the 100th floor, fighters were given their own personal room on the tower.
Up to the 200th floor, the building was divided into twenty 10-floor parts, so to say that, for example, winning on the 40th floor would let you advance to the 50th, while losing on the same level would let you regress to the 30th.
On the first 199 floors, weapons were not allowed.
For every fight, there was no time limit, it stopped either if one of the competitors reached 10 points (a TKO, technical knockout) or there was a KO (knockout).
The points given by the referees were counted as follows:
"Clean hits" ,1 point.
"Critical hits", 2 points.
"Down", when a fighter went to the ground, 1 point.
The floors above the 200th offered no prize money, only fame and glory. All weapons were allowed.
Here, a fighter had 90 days to prepare for any fight, though it was possible to fight every day.
The 21 highest ranked competitors were called Floor Masters because they were given their own floor between the 230th and 250th.
Losing four matches resulted in disqualification, while winning ten matches resulted in being awarded the right to challenge a Floor Master.
The 251st floor of Heavens Arena held a biennial tournament called the Battle Olympia, and the victor was allowed to live on the 251st floor in an exclusive penthouse.
All of the fighters from the 200th floor and above used Nen.
'Such a long queue. I'll be here for some time.'
-Inside the tower, registration area-
"Please complete this form!"
…
"Thank you Mr Enma! You are number 1666! When the speaker announce your number, please go on the stage! Good luck!"
…
In the first 50 floors, the arena was divided in several stages or rings.
This was to have as many fights as possible at the same time. From the spectators stands, it looked like pure chaos.
[Number 1700 and 1666! Stage 4!]
The speaker voice resounded in the arena.
'It's show time'.
…
-On stage number 4-
2 guys were standing facing each other. One an incredibly handsome young man with raven black hair and eyes, the other a middle aged man with an athletic build.
"Son, give it up now. I'm a flying tiger style black belt. I've reached floor 120 in the past ten years ago. You have no chance."
Enma narrowed his eyes but stayed silent.
"In the first floor we evaluate your fighting capabilities. You have 3 minutes of time! Begin!"
Instantly, the man charged forward with momentum.
Bzzz Bzzz Bzzz
'My spider-sense is tingling!!'
Instantly, Enma evaded the attack, bending his torso in an odd angle.
"Uh? Hmpf!"
Number 1700 was surprised at first. But he didn't dwell on it, and preferred to keep attacking.
Bzzz! Bzzz!
Swosh!
Miss!
Bzz Bzz
Swish!
Miss!
…
Miss!
'What the hell is going on??? I can't reach him at all!'
"Stop running away! Fight if you are a man!"
…
Miss!
'This is amazing! This feeling, it's like I'm in autopilot! Every single step that I take, is the perfect counter to his attacks! What if I start punching myself…"
Pam- Pam- Pam
"Ugh!"
Bam!
The man, who was fully committed to his desperate offensive attempts, left his side completely open.
When he least expected, a 3 punches combo was thrown by the younger teen, one right to the body, followed by a hook to the face and one last left hook to the temple.
The combo left the man to the floor, unconscious.
'W-what? Is this what Peter has always felt? While evading or attacking, my body moves solely on instinct alone.
Technique wise, I'm much worse than this man right here, but the fight was one sided in my favor!
It's exactly like for Spiderman, who, despite never training in combat, is able to go toe to toe with the world's best martial artists.'
"Number 1666 advance to floor 50!"
"Wait! I want to go to floor 20!"
"Ok! Not a problem! Take this."
The referee said before handing Enma a check.
…
-4 days later-
From Floor 20 to 30, than 40 and all the way up to 100, every single fight went in the same exact way.
Enma's opponent would show remarkable skills in the most different martial arts, only to be completely outclassed by Enma.
'Either my opponent has far better physical stats than me, or there is no way I could ever lose.
Hehe, you can't lose if nobody can hit you!
And it's not only evading…
Spider-sense also enhance aim and precision.
This, in turn, maximize my chances to exploit the opponent's openings.'
He sighed and jumped on the bed. He had just received his personal room, and was now ready for a good sleep.

…
It was during the same time that 2 kids showed up at the first floor of the tower.
"Wow Killua! It's so tall!"
"This is Heaven's Arena tower Gon! The place where we'll improve our skills. Are you ready?"
"En!"
