It took years, to finally find all the Horcruxes without anyone's help under Voldemort's nose.
He was alone and almost everyone was against him, his former friends didn't believe him in the pretext of him turning dark. Not even his best friend Ron believe him.
For years he kept running away from the ministry under Voldemort's control. After the fall of the ministry, he soon took control of all the departments and even the authors were under him by that point.
Harry on the other hand had nothing, no one of his side, he was alone.
Soon after Hogwarts fell, Voldemort attacked Hogwarts with his army, this time there was no Harry Potter there to save the day.
Unfortunately for those inside the Hogwarts castle, Voldemort didn't know that, so when demanded Harry Potter to come out, there was no saving them.
After the fall of Hogwarts, it was like the entire magical Britain and even the muggle side was under Voldemort's control.
Not outside the country though, there are still many powerful wizards and witches hiding in the world.
Both Voldemort and Harry didn't leave each other though, Harry because he wanted to take his revenge. Voldemort because of the prophecy of his downfall, Harry mercilessly hunts his dead eaters and causes trouble and lastly and maybe the most important he carries the Elder Wand.
A wand which Voldemort wanted, not to mention he wanted to kill Harry as soon as possible because that kid was getting too strong too fast.
In just under a few years, Harry ended up catching up to his power in many ways. To the point where he can actually fight with him.
.
.
.
After years of conflict, finally, the day came when both came face to face, a fight which they were destined to fight.
Harry spends years learning about Voldemort Horcruxes, finding them and destroying them. He kept on fighting until Voldemort couldn't make more Horcruxes anymore.
His soul was too stretched by that time. So ultimately the time came when Harry Potter ended up fighting with Voldemort.
The fight was much more bloody than any book or movie could have portrayed. Both at this point were the strongest wizards of their time and the darkest of their time.
It took time, many years but sooner or later the dark signs in Harry started to appear. The corruption made him cruel, power-seeking and lastly a little evil.
In the end, Harry won. It was a hard battle but Harry Potter won the fight.

(Present, Hogwarts)
Hermione found herself dumbfounded. As Nick explained his past to her, she almost felt like she had left all that time, like she was present there.
For some time, there was no one talking in the room. Both Hermione and Nick stayed quiet. No one talked about it.
Hermione felt thousands of emotions passing through her in minutes. Not sure what to do or think about it.
After sorting all the information she got from Nick, the only thing she said was, " What happened next ?"
There was nothing for Hermione to say here, what can she say? Nick's story was nothing but tragic. Everything felt like a story from a horror show.
"What happened next? Simple I came here," Nick said without delay but Hermione noticed him avoiding the talk.
This Hermione might never have known Harry Potter but she has the memories of a Hermione who loved Harry Potter. With those memories, it wasn't hard to say that Nick was hiding something.
"When did you die, when fighting with Voldemort?"
"NO," Nick replied mindlessly.
"Then how did you die ?"
...
"That's another long story, something I don't want to talk about," Nick said with a little irritation on his face.
Hermione noticed the irritation and discomfort in Nick's tone. Not sure what happened but Hermione decided to drop the topic for the time being. She will get answers sooner or later.
"So you have no idea how you came here ?" Hermione changed the question.
...
"I... someone helps me come here, Hermione. I can't say who but that being send me here and in return I have to do something... That's all I can say for the time being..." Nick said with a long sigh and a little helpless look on his face.
Hermione didn't ask any more. There was no need, with all the memories she had, she knew that the Harry she knew or Nick right now, would not gonna open his mouth if he didn't wanna say something.
But that doesn't mean that it gonna be that way forever. She will get those answers out of him, the other her used to do it and she can do it too.
But that's not important right now.
What is more important right now is to ask herself, is this feeling something she only felt becuase of that other Hermione's memories or it is something more?

In a Hogwarts Room, Hermione was talking with Professor McGonagall.
"I am sorry Granger but that's not possible," McGonagall replied with firm determination.
"But Professor, I don't belong there. It's been months since I talked with anyone." Hermione refuted. Trying to solidify her point.
"This doesn't work like that, Once we enter into a house, students stay there until they pass out from Hogwarts. " Professor McGonagall said with a troubled face. For Hermione, she always had a soft spot. She was the brightest witch of her generation. So she didn't want Hermione to go from Gryffindor.
Of course, characters like Orion are not included in this brightest list, right now Orion's influence in the world is great. While he wasn't in Hogwarts, she learned from Albus that soon an international auction would happen for his squib potions.
(For those who are confused, yes the auction chapter happened much later, after the 2nd year ended in 1993 June)
It just happened out of nowhere, after the final exam Hermione suddenly visited her office and wanted to be transferred out of Gryffindor. Reason unknown, why the sudden action unknown and why the hurry unknown.
But McGonagall didn't need to ask Hermione to know, although the results were not out yet she knew Hermione's result.
She barely passed. Hermione Granger barely passes. That could be the biggest deal for Hermione ever but here she was, not at all worried about her result. Just more concerned about changing the house.
When she first mentions it, Professor McGonagall naturally refuses but being a studious witch and a great Professor, she too is worried about losing such a brilliant witch. And thus she looks for what causes his change.
It's hard to say what exactly changed her so much but this has definitely something to do with Nick Iron. Hermione has been with that boy this year long for some reason.
This was another reason why she didn't want to let Hermione change her house. Nick has already been a bad influence on Hermione.
"Sorry Miss Granger but I can't put you in any other house just becuase you want to. Even if Albus and I agree with you, which is still a big if.
The dorms and everything have been already assigned. There is no place for you, no until next year. " McGonagall said.
Hermione shut up and was trying really hard to get out of Gryffindor. To help Nick and prevent him from killing her friends. She wanted to move to Slytherin. It will be much easier to plan and work with Nick.
There was no other intention... NOT AT ALL.
"But professor what if someone changes the house with me." Hermione pondered and asked.
"You mean swap houses. Come on Granger there are many people who want to change their house just for fun.
You have to find a third-year Slytherin girl for that, otherwise, it won't work. And that also if Albus and that girl agree." McGonagall at this point was just amusing Hermione.
She had no idea of letting Hermione change the house.
Well unknown to her, a certain girl with excellent sneaking skills heard their conversation.
