Seline, along with her handmaiden, followed behind Secretary Cade as they walked through the corridor of the west wing. As they were headed there, Seline's eyes fell on the changes in the floor. Raising her brows, she pointed ahead, mentioning, "...Are these new tiles?"
Secretary Cade nodded. "Yes, the Marchioness recently had the floor and banquet hall renovated."
"Ohh," Seline breathed out in awe, feeling the smoothness of the floor beneath her heels as she continued to walk. "Isn't that great?" she muttered out loud.
The sound of their footsteps tapping echoed in her ears. The once cracked and marred marble floor was nowhere to be seen now, replaced by flawless marble stretching out before them.
"I didn't think the Marquess would bother to beautify his estate. He made a smart choice of finally getting married, didn't he?" she commented, turning her eyes ahead of the corridor.
