He pushed the door open with a loud bang, and his eyes grew as big as plates. He felt a jolt of energy coursing through his body as he took in the scene before him.

There, in the room, dimly lit by a flickering torch, he saw the presence of intruders whose masked figures cast ominous silhouettes against the surrounding shadows.

Concealed beneath masks that covered their identities, the intruders betrayed their malicious intentions through the cold and calculating glint in their eyes.

Talon's focus shifted to Lady Clarissa, whose eyes mirrored his fear.

A hand desperately clamped over her mouth to muffle any involuntary gasps. She was bound to the edge of her bed, her flowing hair lay disheveled, and her clothes were in disarray.
