Chapter 1: Magical Magic

In a three-story house near Ottery St. Catchpole village.

Eleven-year-old Kyle Chopper stood by the window, carefully looking at the parchment in his hand.

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore (Order of Merlin, First Class, Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot, President of the International Confederation of Wizards)

Dear Mr. Chopper,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I am attaching a list of all necessary books and equipment.

Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by 31 July.

Yours sincerely,

(Deputy Headmistress) Minerva McGonagall

...

That's right, it was the Hogwarts acceptance letter.

Since he crossed over to this world eleven years ago, Kyle had been waiting for this day.

As for why he was so sure, it was simple. Because a few other special families were living nearby.

Among them, the one Kyle was most familiar with was the Daily Prophet editor, Lovegood.

And the Weasleys.

Especially the latter, with their incredibly bizarre building and a family of redheads, Kyle immediately identified the nature of this world.

It's worth mentioning that living here also indicated that this version of Kyle came from a wizarding family.

His father, Chris Chopper, worked at the Ministry of Magic, Deputy Head of the Department of Magical Creatures and Control, and Director of the Beast Office. Thanks to his family's talent for communicating with magical creatures, he was also a famous magical zoologist and one of the few students of Newt Scamander.

His mother, Diana, also worked at the Ministry of Magic, but in the Department of Mysteries. However, Kyle didn't know what she did exactly. He tried to get information out of her in various ways, but all failed. It was clear that his parents' sense of secrecy was quite high, and they hadn't revealed any information at all.

Family background... well, because their ancestors hadn't produced any prominent figures, it could only be described as unremarkable. Compared to famous surnames like Dumbledore, Grindelwald, etc., they were far behind.

But even so, Kyle was already quite content. At least his parents were both wizards, so getting into Hogwarts was a sure thing.

Unless he was a Squib.

And that was ruled out after his first magical outburst at the age of three.

Although he knew this day would come, Kyle almost jumped for joy when the owl delivered the letter and pecked open the window of his room.

He treasured that parchment like a baby, and he couldn't even let go of it when he slept. He would look at it every few days.

...

"Darling, you've been flipping through that acceptance letter for three days now. Can you put it down? I assure you, it's real!"

Chris looked at his son who was starting to giggle and couldn't help but remind him, "Don't forget we're going to Diagon Alley with the Weasleys next door. Don't keep them waiting."

"Okay, Dad, I'm coming."

Hearing this, Kyle quickly put away the Hogwarts acceptance letter that he had read countless times, got up in a hurry, and tapped a nearby wooden stake, "Groot, I'm leaving."

As soon as he finished speaking, a green little guy jumped out and waved at Kyle.

Kyle's home did have magical creatures, but not many. Besides this tree-hugging gnome named Groot, there was also a Kneazle named Tom.

Although Chris, with his position as Deputy Head of the Department of Magical Creatures and Control, could easily keep ten or twenty magical creatures if he wanted, he didn't do that. Even Groot and Tom were only allowed to stay because they refused to leave.

It wasn't that Chris didn't like magical creatures, it was that he believed that magical creatures shouldn't be kept around wizards.

What you keep around are pets.

On this point, this normally kind and gentle middle-aged gentleman, known as a softie in the Ministry of Magic, was firm.

His view was also supported by Newt Scamander.

Newt also believed that magical creatures should be in nature, and had always done so.

As for why there were so many magical creatures in his magical suitcase, it was purely because of Newt's constitution.

Kyle had seen this old man, more than once, so he could be certain.

Just like a certain magical detective kid, Newt Scamander also possessed a similar constitution.

Kyle clearly remembered that when he was five years old, he was walking around the garden with Newt, and he saw with his own eyes a Niffler dive headfirst into Newt's arms.

It's important to note that Nifflers are natural Apparition Masters. Although they aren't very clever and won't deliberately hide themselves like other magical creatures, they have a strong sense of territory and an acute awareness of danger.

Once they detect a wizard or other beings that pose a threat to them, they will immediately disappear.

The first sentence in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" describes Nifflers as "admirable at a distance, but best avoided."

Yet, this kind of Niffler dived headfirst into Newt's arms, perfectly, without any hesitation.

It was ridiculous.

Then there was the time he was seven years old, still out with Newt, and they encountered a fire salamander.

When he was eight, an injured unicorn.

When he was ten, a fire crab that was almost turned into a cauldron.

Some of these magical creatures had escaped after being smuggled into the British wizarding world, while others had wandered over somehow. They always managed to appear around Newt in various unbelievable ways.

This was still under the premise that Newt had been staying at home.

Back when he was carrying a suitcase around the world, sending magical creatures back to their homes, the situation was much worse than now.

For every creature he sent back, ten or twenty new ones would bump into him. After a while, it's no wonder his suitcase had so many animals in it.

...

With this special talent, it's no wonder Newt was blacklisted by almost every Ministry of Magic.

After all, the magical creatures were not in a good mood before encountering Newt. Those who were injured or pregnant were especially volatile and would explode on the spot at the slightest provocation.

Imagine this, you're casually drinking afternoon tea on the street, and suddenly a crazed Grindylow jumps out beside you, or a Dementor, etc. ... Tsk, just thinking about it makes you sweat.

So, what's with Gellert, what's with Voldemort? Dark Lords wreaking havoc, but they have to do it themselves? Seriously? That's so weak.

Look at Newt, the old geezer. He doesn't even need to lift a finger to make something disappear. He just buys a plane ticket and stays there for a few days, drinks coffee, and enjoys the scenery, that's all. And he doesn't even have to bear any consequences.

That's why Tina is so amazing. She single-handedly sealed Newt by her side. It's not an exaggeration to say that the whole world owes her an Order of Merlin, First Class.

It's just a pity for the British wizarding world.

According to incomplete statistics, since Newt settled in Dorset, the number of events related to magical creatures in the Ministry has started to increase exponentially. The British wizarding world has inexplicably become the most popular dumping ground for smugglers, no contest.

Fortunately, although there have been big and small events happening all the time these past years, none of them have caused any serious consequences. At most, some unlucky guy gets slightly injured.

Perhaps as Newt's birthplace, this place has a passive buff.

However, Chris was not so lucky. Because of his job, he had to work overtime for several days now and then.

But judging from Chris's appearance, he probably enjoyed it.

...

As they walked to the door, Kyle realized that besides Chris, his mother Diana had also come back from the Ministry of Magic earlier than usual. She was standing there, smiling at him.

Her long black hair was perfectly styled, her black-and-white long robe looked neat on her, and when she looked at Kyle, her light blue eyes were full of tenderness.

Elegant and intellectual.

That was Kyle's impression of Diana all along.

Unconsciously, Kyle turned to look at Chris... well, he was kinda cute, and he could still vaguely see some of his younger years. They looked very compatible together.

Most importantly, Chris was not bald. Even though he was almost forty, the distance between his hairline and eyebrows was still only an inch or so. This was a stark contrast to Mr. Weasley next door.

Of course, with such powerful genes, Kyle's appearance naturally wasn't bad either. Among his acquaintances, he could at least rank first. He had the potential to be a heartthrob at a young age.

Of course, that wasn't important, and Kyle didn't care. He wasn't relying on his face to make a living.

"Sorry, I'm late."

Kyle walked between the two of them, saying apologetically.

"If you could put away that notification, you probably wouldn't be late. And Hogwarts wouldn't leave Britain just because you didn't keep the notification safe."

Chris looked at Kyle teasingly, telling a made-up joke.

Well, it was a joke, at least Chris looked very happy after saying it.

As for Kyle, although he didn't understand what Chris was laughing at, he still politely twitched the corner of his mouth, just to give his old man some face.

Fortunately, this situation didn't last long.

"Okay, it's getting late. We need to leave."

Diana smiled slightly, interrupting the awkward interaction between father and son, and took Kyle's hand, "There's a lot to buy for school. We need to get there quickly, and it's not polite to keep the Weasleys waiting."

As she spoke, with a sharp bang, she disappeared with Kyle.

Seeing this, Chris quickly Appeared after them.
