I don't have classes today because it's Saturday but I went to grab some books from the library anyway. I'm working on an assignment. Since I was in school, I just stopped by that cafe to grab coffee. Usually, it's me and David but he's not here now. I wasn't so surprised to see few students were at the cafe but I smiled when a familiar red head waved at me.
Kale. Scott's friend from the other day. He jogged up to me leaving his bunch of friends. Including a sassy looking blonde who kept sizing me up. What the hell? She's pretty and all that but I don't see the chances of me and her becoming friends.
"Stormy. Been a while" he surprisingly hugged me but I didn't flinch. I guess it's common among college students. Shaking seems old fashioned. I shrugged away with a smile.
"Nice to see here. You almost never come here"
"Yeah...this place is crap" he snorted and I chuckled. His behaviour, resembling that of Scott. Scott had called this place many names exactly. What a psychopath.
"But they sell great coffee" I smiled.
"Overrated" he said with a little grin. One of his friend walked up to us and wrapped an arm round Kale's shoulder.
"Who's the girl?" The guy asked, smirking at Kale. I wanted to take it as my cue to leave but I still stood there like a cactus plant.
"She's Scott's girl, dude" Kale shoved his friend behind his head. "Sorry, this is Cop. My friend" Kale said to me. I smiled at Cop and he did too before tuning dead serious.
"Scott has a girl?" Cop asked.
"Yeah"
Cop bursted into a fit of laughter and I didn't find the whole thing funny anymore. He clutched his stomach while the blonde girl walked up to us.
"Well Scott has a girl. What do you know" she said sarcastically. It was clear she had heard our discussion. I wanted to scream at her and tell Cop to stop laughing but I was fuming with too much anger to even talk.
"You guys shut the hell up!" Kale snapped and the blonde rolled her eyes. "Sorry Storm. The paranoid one is my sister, Kim" he pointed to the blonde. She rolled her eyes and walked away. "She's just mad cause Scott doesn't want her anymore" Kale triggered. Now that, I find funny. The girl shot glares at Kale and if looks could kill, I know Kale would be six feet under.
Cop finally stopped his hiccuping laugh. "Sorry Storm but it's just hard to believe Scott has a girlfriend" he shrugged. Well I'd like to think we're dating cause we've kissed twice now but he hasn't really said anything. He said he dosen't do romance my inner girl reminds me.
"Why are you surprised?" I ask them. I know Kale is too. He's been staring into space.
"Well maybe because Scott doesn't date" Kale said. Yeah I know that one. He doesn't do romance and blah blah blah....what else is there?
"Oh and maybe because he's fucked the whole of NY" Cop started laughing again and I cringed. Kale shoved his friend again for him to be sensitive but I just looked away. Now that one , I didn't know. And it's not really a good feeling knowing that. I don't even know why I'm bothered about it. He never said we're dating or anything.
"Oh shit! I'm sorry" Cop quickly apologised and I nodded.
"Well, see you around Storm" Kale said while pushing his friend away before he says something terrible again.
"Tell Scott to hang out with his friends!" Cop yelled before they were out the door. I sighed. That was one encounter I just had there.

I stopped at Rose cafe before I got home. I could use some of her cakes right now. I stepped into the calm settling cafe. Few people were around considering, it's a bit early and it's Saturday. If it were any other day, this place would be filled with students and people hurrying to work and hoping to catch a cake or two.
I spotted Rose behind her counter as usual. She was talking with a little girl. Blonde too.
"Morning Rose" I smiled. My friend looked away from the little girl and grinned.
"You're smiling. I take it your date went well last night?"
"Yeah..well, it ended with me choking on water but other than that, it was lovely" I chuckled remembering the not so romantic moment I made up.
"I'm sure you choked cutely or you splattered water everywhere?" She asked in a horrified expression. I burst into laughter. Is there ever a cute way to choke on anything?
The little girl pulled at Rose's apron.
"Oh...Storm, meet Hailey. My daughter"
"Really?" I grinned. "How come you never told me about her?" I looked at the adorable little girl clinging to her mom's apron.
"I didn't have to but now she's here. She and my mom arrived from Rome last night" Rose split a cupcake into two and handed a side to Hailey. The little girl took it and started licking the ice coating. I smiled.
"I need your help, Rose"
"What can I do you for?"
"There's this little garden party...you know David , my friend at school. ..."
"Yeah you've told me about him" she cut me off.
"His mom is holding a garden party and he invited me" I said.
"And?"
"Well Scott is going with me though and they're cousins" I explained and Rose's eyes widened.
"No kidding"
"Yeah. The problem is, I don't know what to wear" I came to college with simple jeans and clothes. I didn't ask for all these parties and sorts but If it's for my friend David, I'd do it. And for the sake of spending more time with Scott? I'll definitely do it.
"Great! You've come to the right place" Rose clapped her hand, apart from being a barrister, Rose is talented in many other things like fashion, she can fix a good hair and can handle a good make-up well.
"Your a life saver" I said hugging her.
"I know" she chuckled. "I'll close the shop early , customers ain't much anyway. And then, we can go shopping" she grinned.
