I had been running for a while when I finally reached the location on the paper when a boy around my age with black eyes and spiky black hair walked out. He wore dark blue pants with a blue cloth covering his stomach to knees. He had on a white, open-collared long-sleeved shirt and black arm guards.
I hesitated as I mumbled, "Sa... Sasuke?"
He looked at me, and in a flash, his sword was pointing at my throat as he asked, "Who are you and how do you know my name?"
I pushed his sword to the side with a finger and bowed before saying, "My name is Kiyoko. You're pretty famous, you know, Sasuke Uchiha."
"What do you want?"
"I want to join you. I'll be your most trusted partner. You won't have to worry about me betraying you, and I'm sure I can be useful to you."
I suddenly jumped back, dodging Sasuke's sword. He put his sword back as he said, "Fine."
I hesitated, thinking, "He agreed just like that?" before turning my attention to a puddle as I asked, "So who's your friend over there?"
Sasuke turned towards the puddle as he said, "Suigetsu, come out."
A man with straight white hair with a light-blue tint and almond-shaped purple eyes came out of the puddle. He looked at Sasuke and asked, "You're really going to let her tag along?"
Sasuke nodded and started walking.
I looked the other way as I asked, "Hey, Suigetsu, could you put on some clothes?" before following Sasuke. As we continued walking, I could tell both of them were watching my every move.
After a while, we arrived in the Land of Waves were we had our first "C" rank mission. We went to where Zabuza was buried, as Suigetsu said, "It's not here. Sasuke, are you sure this is the right place?"
Sasuke paused before saying, "I am."
"Well, it's not here. So, what's the deal?"
"I don't know, but I'm not the groundskeeper. Don't ask me. If it's gone, then someone must have taken it."
"Yeah, well, that's obvious. It didn't just walk away on its own. But since it's gone, so is any chance of me joining your team."
I turned to Sasuke and asked, "Who else do you plan on making join your team?"
Sasuke paused before saying, "Karin and Jūgo."
"I'm guessing they both have ties to Orochimaru?"
"Yes…"
We continued walking as Sasuke asked Suigetsu what he planned to do now.
Suigetsu smiled and said, "What else can I do? I'm going to look for the sword. The blade of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist was passed down from generation to generation. That's the tradition. I was all set to become one of those swordsmen. That's what I was training for. So, it makes sense that now that Master Zabuza is gone, I'm the one that should inherit his Executioner's Blade…" Just as he was talking, someone bumped into him.
Suigetsu was about to attack him when Sasuke stopped him. The guy turned to us and asked, "What, you want to make something of it?!"
I sighed, thinking, "He really shouldn't pick fights with just anybody unless he has a death wish."
Sasuke glared at him, and he walked away.
They both went to get yogurt, and I decided to go my separate way as I thought, "Zabuza's blade huh...?"
I was walking in an ally when I entered a building. And a man sharpening a blade said, "If you don't have money, then leave."
I paused as I said, "That attitude of yours is going to make you lose customers."
He looked up and was shocked before exclaiming, "It's you! I don't want any trouble! Last time, someone with that mask came in they trashed the place!"
I sighed and mumbled, "Seriously, old lady?" before turning back to him as I said, "I won't trash your place if you tell me what I want to know."
He raised an eyebrow as I asked, "What do you know about a sword left near the Great Naruto Bridge?"
"And what makes you think I know anything?"
I grabbed a kunai and threw it at a vase, shattering it. He abruptly stood up as he screamed, "Hey, that costs a lot!"
"Sorry, my hand slipped."
I could see him fuming when I grabbed another kunai. He looked at me and exclaimed, "Wait, stop! I'll tell you what you want to know! Tenzen Daikoku has it! He came to this village to beat the ninja Zabuza who had it, but after he found out he was dead, he just took it."
"And where does he live?"
"He's a dangerous man, kid, so you better not be thinking of messing with him."
I threw another kunai, narrowly missing a golden plate.
He turned pale again and said, "Fine! He lives in the south, deep inside the forest. If you're thinking of breaking in, it's impossible unless you have an army."
I paused before saying, "Now, was that so hard? I feel like we'll be great partners in the future." I started walking out as he screamed, "Yeah right! Don't come back!"
As I walked out, I thought, "I guess I have to thank you next time I see you, old lady, for giving me a list of people to get information from anywhere."
I found Sasuke and Suigetsu in a shop just about to leave when Suigetsu looked at me and asked, "And where have you been?"
I turned to Suigetsu as I said, "Collecting information. The person with the Executioner's Blade is Tenzen Daikoku. Apparently, he came to the village to kill Zabuza, but he was already dead, so he just took the blade."
Sasuke turned his attention to me and asked, "Do you know where he lives?"
"South, deep inside the forest. I told you I could be useful."
Sasuke looked at me but didn't reply before heading off.
The next day, we headed to Tenzen's castle when a bunch of men placed themselves in front of the castle
Suigetsu sighed and asked, "What's going on now?"
Sasuke walked up as he said, "Apparently, a rival clan plans to attack Tenzen's castle tomorrow with an army that rivals in the tens of thousands."
I continued looking at the castle as I mumbled, "What a coincidence." When I felt Sasuke's gaze.
I tried to ignore it when Suigetsu scratched the back of his head and said, "I know, right? We have terrible luck, but oh well, the more confused the enemy is, the better my chances are. Whether it's one opponent or ten thousand, it doesn't really matter to a ninja like me. I'll sneak in and steal the Executioner's Blade from right under their noses."
Sasuke turned his attention to Suigetsu as he asked, "Alright, then how about a little wager?"
"A wager?"
"A competition to see who gets the Executioner's Blade first."
"Huh?! Never in a million years did I expect you to have a playful side, Sasuke… Alright, let's do it. Sounds like my kind of fun. You wanna join in, Kiyoko?"
I felt Sasuke glance as I said, "I think I'll watch this time."
Suigetsu shrugged as he said, "Suit yourself."
Sasuke turned back to Suigetsu as he said, "Then we start now. But there is one rule, Suigetsu. Don't kill anyone."
Sasuke jumped down and started fighting, taking a bunch of them down. I looked at him fighting as I thought, "Don't kill anyone... I guess deep down he's still the sasuke I know..." Sasuke performed a fire style jutsu before disappearing.
Suigetsu started running towards the castle, taking them down easily when I appeared behind Sasuke.
"You wanted to test both of us with this competition of yours, didn't you? You planned all this…" I asked.
Sasuke continued looking at Suigetsu as he said, "Yes," before disappearing.
I sighed and mumbled, "He doesn't trust me yet…" Just then, the castle collapsed as Suigetsu and Sasuke came out.
Suigetsu turned towards me and smiled as he said, "Hey, Kiyoko! I got the blade!"
I jumped down and said, "Took you long enough."
Hi! Please tell me your thoughts on the story and how I can do better. I'm going to make some changes to the OG timline down the road. Who do you think Hinoka should fight in the akatsuki? Bye!
