Chapter 1
'To think that I would be apart with Komachi for 3 years…'
Hikigaya thought, looking out the window of the bus to Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School.
Hikigaya's eyes, akin to dead fish, watched as the bus left mainland Tokyo, to an artificial island, where he would be staying for the next three years.
His parents had mentioned it to him, Hikigaya had to admit, free tuition along with a 99.9% Employment Rate straight after graduation made the institution seem like a utopia.
Rather, that was the reason he even applied in the first place.
He would miss Komachi dearly, but free tuition was something that was hard to pass up.
So when he got accepted as one of the 160 students out of every applicant, Hikigaya was surprised.
Hikigaya had initially assumed that the school would only accept students who were both academically and physically gifted, befitting of the institution.
It was why he had also took the entrance exam to Sobu High School, as they both fufilled the requirements of a High School he wanted to attend: being as far as reasonably possible from his Junior High.
But Hikigaya wasn't fit nor was he particularly the smartest. He was confident in his literature and social sciences, and maybe english but his math and science left much to be desired.
Athletics wise, Hikigaya couldn't say that he was weak. If he had to pick, he would be in the middle of being perfectly average and fit.
I mean, he did ride his bike to school for the 3 years he spent in Junior High. That was something to be respected, right?
During his interview, he could admit that he did go on a small tangent about the sickening truth of youth, but that wasn't that bad, right?
Regardless, somehow he had passed, and that was all that mattered.
But if Hikigaya got in, then there was something else other than academic ability and physical ability that mattered.
Potential?
I mean, the name of the school was "Advanced Nurturing" plus High School.
That probably meant something.
But since the name implied that they want us to improve that this school, would the classes be difficult?
While Hikigaya was prepared for anything that would happen, it would pain him to study every waking second.
Maybe incentives—
[Now arriving at Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School]
His thoughts were broken from an announcement from the speakers on the bus.
He looked away from the window he was blankly staring at.
Well, there was nothing he could do about it.
Even saying that he was accepted to the school could give him some street cred.
Hikigaya left the bus, and watched as it sped away, the only chance of him backing out unless he would drop out or got expelled.
Now that was a frightening thought.
He turned to the gate, which looked extremely plain to the point that Hikigaya was wondering if this school was even the right place to be.
Seeing students with the same uniform entering the gates, Hikigaya was a tad bit disappointed.
'Expectations are the bane of man.'
Hikigaya thought, walking through the gates to where he would call his home for the next three years.
If anything, the sakura blossoms did add a picture of youth to the entire school.
The spring wind carried the petals, sending a barrage of petals across his face.
"…"
Maybe that was God's omen for him to just leave.
Ignoring such morbid thoughts, Hikigaya just made his way to his class.
He didn't as much sleep as he wanted. For some odd reason, Komachi had went into his room at 5 in the morning, saying he was going to be late.
He yawned into his hand.
[Class 1-B]
'That looks pretty average.'
Hikigaya thought.
Entering the classroom, there were multiple small groups making conversations that he didn't want a single part of.
He activated one of his 108 skills: Stealth Hikki, making sure no one noticed him as he found his seat, the corner seat next to the window.
Hikigaya was stupified.
'Why am I sitting where the main character would sit?'
Hikigaya thought.
A second of hesitation before he decided to just sit down and look out the window. The view was so nice he wanted to puke.
Anything related to youth was a lie, and he was breathing in youth vibes.
Hikigaya inwardly sighed once more.
At least now he had time to think.
Maybe they would give them incentives to "Nurture" themselves?
What could motivate children who were currently in the middle of puberty?
Money? That would definitely motivate Hikigaya if it didn't motivate anyone else.
Maybe it was the stick instead of the carrot.
Hikigaya hoped not.
He looked out the window, looking at the blue sky, dotted with clouds that had fluffiness comparable to cotton candy.
He gave a glance to his classmates, and it looked like they were circling around a girl with hair the color of apricot, cascading down her back, reaching down to her pelvis.
She was remarkably attractive.
Hikigaya had overheard the name "Ichinose," from one of the louder ones in the group.
Hikigaya predicted that she would be the center of the class in a week, give or take.
Hikigaya didn't want to look at people socializing any longer than necessary, slowly turning his head back to look at the scenery.
Talking to people exhausted him. Maybe if he had a novel right now, he wouldn't feel as bored.
He looked at the clock placed above the whiteboard, there was 4 more minutes left. All he had to do was wait.
4 minutes passed, and Ichinose who had noticed the time, broke up the group, who a obediently complied, and they sat waiting for the teacher like they were good students all along.
Hikigaya was impressed at such leadership. To be able to move a group of people that effectively was frightening!
The door slid open to reveal a… college student?
The woman who was in place of the door looked extremely young, and she looked excited.
Yet, that was a lie.
While she was young, and looked excited, she didn't look that happy.
But if she was outwardly revealing that she was happy, then it wasn't the student's fault. Maybe it was somebody else's fault.
"Hello everyone~"
The class had responded back.
"My name is Hoshinomiya Chie and I'll be your homeroom teacher for the next three years, I look forward to working with you~"
The majority of the students did a half bow in their seats.
Hikigaya had done the same.
No reason to deliberately look like the odd person out.
Attention was something that Hikigaya deliberately avoided.
"I'll be passing out a leaflet with the school's rules, along with your personal electronical device and your student ID's, so take your's and pass it down please~"
Getting his phone and Student ID, Hikigaya did the first thing that came to mind, inspect it.
"You first have to sync your ID's with the phone before you can use it,"
Hoshinomiya explained.
Hikigaya synced his phone with his ID, and he got to a screen that displayed 100,000pts.
"Using either your phone or ID, you can use it to pay for the available resources that you can find on the campus~. Also, one point amounts to one yen~"
There were gasps in surprise and whispers of excitement rampant in the room.
"Are you all surprised? This is the value that the school as put on you. So for being able to pass the entrance exam, the school as evaluated this class to get 100,000 points."
That was unrealistic.
"You can transfer your points to your classmates, and once points are in your account, you can use them however you want!"
"You can use points to buy anything at this school."
"Points will also be allocated every month, but you shouldn't try to force other people to hand over their points, this school has a very strict bullying policy~"
Hoshinomiya finished explaining.
The terms that she used were a bit unusual. Maybe they were implying something.
Also, Hoshinomiya hadn't said that 100,000 points would be allocated every month, and she just said that points would be allocated every month.
She was using general terms to make the students assume the things that applied to them.
'Using the Barnum Effect in an explanation is suspicious.'
She had also said that 100,000 points was the value of the class because they had been accepted into the school. Did that mean that the value could drop if they did something unbecoming of the school?
Also, when Hoshinomiya-sensei had mentioned that points could buy anything at the school, Hikigaya thought she meant it literally, and used the Barnum Effect to make the students assume otherwise.
But here was the million dollar question.
Where in the world is the stick?
Hikigaya only saw carrots.
Like 100,000 yen a month was an extreme amount of money for a month.
That by itself made it suspicious.
They had given a premium carrot for him to eat, but the stick was nowhere to be seen. For a school that evaluated students by their merits, they were deliberately excluding information.
Hoshinomiya had left answering questions with a vague response, before leaving them to their own devices until the Entrance Ceremony.
But if the school evaluated students by their merits, wouldn't that mean his classmates were supposed to be his rivals?
Hikigaya certainly hoped not.
If he had even thought about going against someone like Ichinose, he would rather die.
He watched as people stood up and started introducing themselves.
It seemed as soon as the teacher left Ichinose had led them to do introductions.
'That's… kind of pointless?'
While Hikigaya could boast about his memorization skills, it was much harder to memorize names. It was like a weakness.
When the attention was on Ichinose's turn, Hikigaya activated Stealth Hikki and crawled his way out.
If he was at the same eye level as Ichinose and she noticed him, he would be in a troublesome position.
Unfortunately for him, Ichinose had noticed him when he had stood up at the door, patting his legs to remove the dust.
Ichinose had noticed him earlier when she was talking to her new classmates.
He looked a bit lonely.
She had thought of walking up to him and starting a conversation, but she didn't want to make him uncomfortable.
It seemed like she already had the attention of everyone in the class except the boy in the corner, pursing his lips in thought.
'He looks like a bored cat.'
Ichinose thought, giggling in her head.
It was a relatively correct analogy, as she had watched him attempt to stealthily leave the classroom, and other than her, no one else had noticed.
When he had gotten up, there was a hint of a smug smile on his face when he bent over to pat himself down.
'That's kind of cute.'
Ichinose had a stray thought.
"Ichinose-san?"
She looked toward the voice.
It was Shiranami Chihiro if she remembered correctly.
'Oh! I forgot I was about to introduce myself!'
"Oh sorry! Just a little nervous."
She awkwardly scratched her head in embarrassment, causing people to laugh.
She gave a glance at the door to see that the guy reminicent of a cat had already disappeared. She felt a bit of disappointment, but continued with her introduction nonetheless.
The cat that she was thinking about walked to the bathroom.
Hikigaya was a tad bit confused.
How would he even reveal his theory to the class?
'It would probably be ignored.'
Hikigaya thought. He didn't have to use the restroom, but he could go for a sip of water.
But it would be a shame if next month his allowance was reduced because he didn't say anything.
'Eh, I guess if I have the opportunity to tell someone I will.'
After the Entrance Ceremony they would be let off, and instruction started the next day.
He would have to stock up on books today.
Nothing wrong with going to the Entrance Ceremony early, Hikigaya thought, wiping his lips to remove the water residue remaining.
If nothing came with his dorms, he would also have to buy toiletries at a nearby convenience store.
'How inconvenient.'
—+—
The Entrance Ceremony was as bland as Hikigaya expected.
He had to admit, the Student Council President, Horikita Manabu, had an extreme level of charisma.
That had woken him up, not that he was tired.
It was the feeling like if someone was just watching a normal action movie, and then someone barged into the room. Like an audio jumpscare.
The Entrance Ceremony had finished, and Hikigaya exited the gym, looking at a map of the school. The library was calling him.
The convenience store was open 24/7 anyways, so he could stay until the library closed at…
Hikigaya opened a pamphlet.
9 P.M.
That was unfortunate.
In some college campuses, the library was open 24/7, but Hikigaya assumed that it was the difference in scale.
After all, having a library open 24/7 with a student population of 480 was a waste of resources.
Entering the library, Hikigaya had to admit that the interior did look picturesque. It was reminiscent of a different library. Hikigaya had forgotten the name, so there was nothing he could do about it.
Let it be known that Hikigaya didn't care what he read as long as it kept him occupied.
Of course he would rather look for books that were entertaining, but Hikigaya was not one to look up book recommendations.
Hikigaya was feeling a… romance novel type of mood today.
Maybe because of how youthful the school felt, students laughing with their newly made friends, drinking at a cafe and talking about their life experiences.
He went to the romance area and took out a random book that had an interesting title.
Hikigaya didn't judge books by their cover. He judged books by their title instead.
He made his way to a reclining cushioned seat and started to read.
Not even a few chapters in and Hikigaya was confused.
'How in the world did this even get published? And why is it in this library?'
He had multiple complaints.
The male protagonist was spineless. Hikigaya understood some authors made them that way to increase the relatability with the readers, but on the other hand, the protagonist didn't even get any character development, and he was over halfway through the damn book!
Like Hikigaya could see that he had a crush on the popular girl.
Also, there was no reason why the author had constantly reused the same exact adjectives every time when describing the "popular girl".
This was an insult to the true peaks of school romance. Hikigaya couldn't believe it. Had the author bribed the publishing company?
Hikigaya wasn't one to leave a book unfinished, so he had read all the way to the end, occasionally closing the book from the cringe that oozed from the dialogue.
'0/10'
Hikigaya thought, bringing up the book to the librarian so she could put it back. He didn't trust himself to have remembered the location of the book, lest he just threw it in the trash where it belonged.
Hikigaya looked at his phone.
8:12 P.M.
As if his stomach had registered the time, he could hear a faint rumbling sound coming from his abdomen.
He would need to buy some food on his way back.
He thanked the Librarian for their work, leaving the library with a half bow once more.
'It's pretty dark outside,'
Hikigaya noted.
He turned on his phone to see a map app.
'How convenient.'
There was a convenience store on his way to the dorms.
That was nice.
Seeing the convenience store ahead, Hikigaya opened the note of what he needed to buy he quickly typed after looking at the map.
The note was titled: Shit i need to buy.
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Face Cleanser
Lotion
Sunscreen
Shampoo
Conditioner
Body Soap
Any food I'm craving at the moment.
Hikigaya hoped that he wasn't missing anything.
Entering the convenience store with a chime that announced his presence he saw a familiar face checking out a pack of towels.
Oh. He forgot towels. And underwear.
Opening his notes app once more, he typed towels and underwear down.
He looked up from his phone to see the apricot haired girl looking straight at him.
'Does she want anything?'
Hikigaya forgot her name. Ichi-something.
'Ichigo?'
Is she going to save the Soul Society?
He needed to buy his stuff, so he just gave a quick nod before avoiding eye contact.
He didn't wait for her response, and turned a left, briskly walking away.
Ichinose watched as Hikigaya had avoided her, giggling in her mind.
'He really is like a cat.'
She could imagine his fur spiking when she made eye contact.
'Wait. Isn't this the perfect time to talk to him?'
She left the convenience store. She was originally going to take a bath, but had come down from her dorm as she had forgotten about the towels, and coincidentally, had met the same guy who seemed like he was avoiding her like the plague.
She was a bit disappointed and intrigued. No matter what, she would do her best to integrate him into the class.
She sat down on a nearby bench, waiting for the opportunity to speak to him when he would exit the building. If she remembered correctly, his name was Hikigaya Hachiman. She remembered it because it was an unusual name.
It was a shinto god, if she remembered correctly.
Hikigaya was currently looking at the basket that showed free products with suspicion.
'This is definitely telling me something.'
If people did get 100,000 points a month, then unless they were stupid, then there was no reason why they would run out of money to buy toiletries.
That only verified Hikigaya's suspicions even further.
'Maybe the people in the grades above them had lost their value due to something?'
But Hikigaya couldn't make any definite conclusions without verification.
Well, free stuff was free stuff so he took out 3 free toiletries that he needed, putting the ones he had already chosen back where he found them.
Now he needed to buy dinner. Perferably something warm…
Hikigaya decided to get a corndog and heat it in the microwave before he left.
The spring nights were cool but not cool enough to lower the temperature of the corndog by that much.
Maybe since there would be nobody outside, he could even eat the corndog while walking back.
Paying for his stuff and heating up the corndog, he made his way out of the store with a chime signfiying his exit.
Right next to him, was Ichi-something on a bench.
"Hikigaya-san, can we talk?"
Ichinose asked.
'Was she going to mug him?'
Ichi-something reminded Hikigaya of Orimoto Kaori, the one who had unintentionally made his Junior High a living hell.
A nice girl.
But declining her could result in horrible consequences, so Hikigaya nodded and sat down on the opposite side of the bench, a solid amount of distance between the two.
"Hikigaya-san, I was meaning to ask, but why did you leave during introductions?"
Ichinose asked.
'She noticed?'
Hikigaya thought in alarm. He would have to go guilt trip her. While talking about his school experience was unpleasant, if it stopped Ichinose from pitying him, then so be it.
But first things first.
'What's your name again?"
Silence. It seemed like Ichinose hadn't expected such a question. This was why he didn't like popular people, they automatically assume that people knew of them. Unexpectedly, Ichinose smiled awkwardly.
"Oh. I realized I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Ichinose Honami, and I'm in your class."
That last part was unnecessary. Hikigaya knew that much at least.
"Nice to meet you, Ichinose-san. You said my name earlier but I'll introduce myself again. I'm Hikigaya Hachiman."
"Nice to meet you, Hikigaya-san."
Ichinose smiled.
'AHH she's too bright!'
Hikigaya thought. Such lethal power was dangerous.
"Yeah. So you were asking why I left before introductions, right?"
Ichinose gave a light nod.
"I'm going to tell you a story about a child. Is that fine with you?"
"Yeah."
Operation Warding Off Ichinose, start!
"Once upon a time, there was a boy. The boy didn't know why, but he was bullied during his middle school years."
Ichinose winced. She could see the direction that he was going in, but she was the one who agreed, so it would be disrespectful to back out now.
"They did every trick in the book, ruined his shoes, splashed him with water, made him trip, solely because he had no friends."
"So, the boy, sick of it, decided to go to Junior High in a completely different district, determined to change his life."
"Yet, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get further than a greeting, and whenever he tried, what returned were looks of confusion and disgust. This made him wonder. "Am I the issue?" "Is it my fault?" yet the boy wasn't bullied uet, that was his saving grace."
Hikigaya continued. Judging by Ichinose's expression, she didn't expect the sudden trauma dump. Then it was working.
"Then one day, a girl had approached him. She was the only one who was friendly with the boy. So the boy developed thoughts like, "Was she being nice to me because she likes me?". But it turned out, it was because she was nice to everyone that she was being nice to the boy."
"But when the boy, misunderstanding the situation as no one else had been nice to him, confessed, he was met with a look of disgust and pity. Expecting his confession to be not talked about like every confession was to that girl, he came into class the next day to see that it was middle school all over again."
Hikigaya glanced at Ichinose to see that she had teared up. Hikigaya was confused. Wasn't she supposed to be uncomfortable? It wasn't even that sad. Hikigaya returned his gaze at the night sky.
"The boy, trying not to experience such a thing again, applied to a school far away from his Junior High, determined to not take any more chances. The end."
Hikigaya finished, looking at Ichinose wiping the tears from her face. He inwardly deadpanned.
'This girl is too nice, even more than that faker Orimoto. Forget what I said earlier.'
If she was crying over a story as bland as that, then she would cry a river if she watched a tragedy.
"So there you go. The boy was perfectly fine without any friends. Can you blame the boy?"
Ichinose listened to Hikigaya's story, her planned conversation topic completely side railed. Ichinose expected something depressing… but this mood made it feel like he was confessing his darkest secrets to her.
"No… I can't blame him at all…"
She sniffled.
She looked at Hikigaya, who was looking into the night sky, when he had revealed his secrets to her, what was he thinking when he decided to?
He looked melancholic.
Maybe it was the mood.
Maybe it was destiny.
Or maybe it was Hikigaya himself.
Ichinose felt like if Hikigaya had told her his darkest secrets, then she would reply in kind.
"Hikigaya-san… *sniffle*"
"Hmm?"
Hikigaya looked at her, responding to her call.
His eyes, that used to resemble dead fish had originally gave off the vibe of unsettling disinterest, but Ichinose realised, that Hikigaya was tired. Sick of it all. Reminicent of a fish succumbing to suffocation when it realized that it's efforts would be meaningless.
"I…I also have a story to tell…"
She had expected a change in expression, but Hikigaya had none, like his opinion of her wouldn't change no matter what.
Maybe because Ichinose didn't have experience in storytelling, or from the mood, but instead of emulating Hikigaya's third party narration, she started speaking in the first person.
"For the longest time, I only knew my mom. Mom told me that I used to have a father before my little sister was born, but I didn't remember."
Ichinose started. Hikigaya, while his expression didn't change he had the offhanded thought of 'so we just trauma dumping now?'
But since Ichinose had responded to his story with sincerity, what kind of person would he be if he didn't do it in return?
"M-my mom worked multiple jobs to keep both me and my sister afloat, and the only time she stayed home the entire day was on our birthdays…"
"T…then one day, a week before my sister's birthday, My mom s-suddenly collapsed, and the m-money that was o-originally s-supposed to go to my s-sister was s-spent on her t-treatment."
She was stuttering way too much. Hikigaya attempted to give a bit of support by putting a hand on her shoulder, as it felt like Ichinose was getting further and further.
"Calm down."
Hikigaya said reassuringly, causing Ichinose to go silent.
After a few seconds of deep breaths, Ichinose resumed her story.
"*Whew…*" Ichinose slowly breathed out. "T-then my sister started complaining, saying that she had been looking forward to getting a hairpin for her birthday, and listening to my mom apologize broke my heart. S…so I went to the store and stole it, thinking that it would make her happy again…"
"I felt guilty, but seeing my sister happy made it a little better… but w-when my mom found out, she slapped me, before dragging me to the store to apologize in front of the s-storekeeper even when she was sick…"
"T-Then when the news got out I-I was so scared of the reaction and the guilt that I shut myself in until graduation… Then when I heard about this school, I thought that it was on opportunity to get a new start, but I was just running away from my crime, right?"
Ichinose looked at Hikigaya, expecting disdain, disappointment, anything. But what greeted her was an unexpected emotion. Confusion.
"Hey, Ichinose."
"Y-Yeah?"
"If you think that you're a bad person then you might be delusional."
Ichinose was confused.
"W-what?"
Hikigaya sighed.
"You know, I have a little sister too. If I was in your position, I might have even done the same. But isn't that what makes me human?"
Ichinose didn't understand.
"B-but I c-committed a c-crime—"
"No. You just displayed love. You loved your sister, so that's why you did it. Law is just a social construct, Ichinose-san. Breaking one doesn't automatically make you a bad guy."
"I-I'm a criminal—"
"That's way too harsh of a word, Ichinose-san. How about "Good Older Sister" instead?"
Ichinose went silent.
"I think that the fact that you're still guilty shows that you're a kind person. Nothing more, nothing less."
Hikigaya was thinking that he was spitting heat with these philosophical lines, but whatever was enough to calm down Ichinose.
"D-do you really think that?"
A small voice was heard.
Hikigaya's lips curled up into a small smile.
"Yeah."
"I mean, do you think I'm a bad guy?"
Ichinose shook her head in denial.
"You're a kinder person than I am, Ichinose. If I'm not a bad guy, then you aren't either. Anyone who says otherwise is lying."
Hikigaya could hear Ichinose sniffling and furiously trying to wipe her tears, from sadness or happiness, he had no clue.
So with underlying panic, he kept trying to increase her mood. If Ichinose came in tomorrow during class and put the blame on him, his social life would die. So he needed to cheer her up immediately.
"You know, Ichinose, if you were scared of other people's reactions, you were liked back in Junior High, right?"
A nod.
"That's like the complete opposite of me, cause everyone hated my guts. Yet we came here to avoid other people's opinions right? Then wouldn't we be like Partners in Crime or something?"
Hikigaya gave out a small laugh that quickly died down.
'That was fucking cringe.'
Hikigaya buried his face in his hands, he could feel his face heating up thinking back to his desperate words.
He could hear light giggling.
"Partners in Crime… I like it."

A/N: dude. someone told me that my hikigaya in the other fanfic i wrote was ooc. I completely agree. I fucking gary stued the fuck out of hikigaya.
I was rereading the story for fun, and the comment saying that hikigaya was ooc stuck in my head, so I'm rewriting everything. Sorry not sorry.
I also realized that the entire chess for more money thing is even more ooc and we dont even know if the betting method even works at the school. So i took it out.
8man meets ichinose mad early. but tbh on the other book she was introduced by chapter 2 or 3 so not that big of a difference.
This is his stats in my other book. Like aint this guy kind of broken?
Name: Hikigaya Hachiman

Birthday: August 8th
Gender: Male
Blood Type: A
Height: 172
Academic Ability: A

Physical Ability: B
Cooperativeness: E
This is the new hachiman for this book:
Name: Hikigaya Hachiman
Student ID: S01T004629
Age: 15
Birthday: August 8th
Gender: Male
Blood Type: A
Height: 172
Academic Ability: B-
Intelligence: A+
Decision Making: A
Physical Ability: C
Cooperativeness: E
Lemme give the reasonings. 8man is ovviously gifted in literature and social sciences along with english, but sucks at math and science. My mans probably did a little studying enough to be considered ok at it. It is mentioned that he is a fast learner so its like 3 high stats and 2 average. Ichinose is B+ but was mentioned to have the highest points in the entrance exams in the LN which is confusing cause shiina and sakayanagi have an A- and A respectively in academic ability.
In the wiki 8man is written to possess an astounding level of intelligence and keen observational skills. His ability to read in between the lines is extremely high level, and in top of that he can manipulate social interactions to find motivations, etc.
I know people like Ayanokoji and Sakayanagi are two people who have extremely high intelligence, but it's different types.
I would classify the three's intelligence like this:
Sakayanagi can use her allies's advantages and her enemeies weaknesses to efficiently solve an issue.
Ayanokoji is similar, being able to psychologically manipulate people into their correct puzzle pieces.
Hikigaya is seeing the entire situation and using what he can to read in between the lines and immediately see the other people's thought processes to formulate plans that deliberately exclude him as an expendable factor.
Sakayanagi's process is like chess, Ayanokoji is like finding the right puzzle pieces, and Hikigaya is like reading a book and editing it to his liking.
His decision making is also extremely good, considering his mentioned good leadership and abilities to quickly learn and formulate a plan given the situation and time frame
His physical ability is probably around Ichinose's. Hikigaya has considerable physical stamina, similar to Ichinose, but Ichinose's balance is below his. So I put him one area above ichinose.
Cooperativeness is e for a reason. His antisocial personality added to him preferring to not have social interactions result in a cooperativeness of e.
Ichinose's abilities in comparision. Hikigaya has higher intelligence and decision making but is less academically proficient overall.

I personally think that if Ichinose and Hikigaya partnered up, they make up for the other's weaknesses, which is why im wondering if i even make this new book harem or not. Partners in crime indeed.
