Chapter 29
Hiccup Pov:
We were having breakfast when I noticed dragons going for a raid from other islands. "Scribbler, those dragons are going for a Raid, Lets follow them on their way back." I say
"Yeah." He responds. It has been a few weeks since the incident at the school. People had grown to fear the name Ryder along with anyone with him. Astrid for some reason had not come to visit me, through trader Johann I learned she had amnesia. Should I help her remember yes, but it is probably for the best that she forgets.
Scribbler had chosen the alias of Nightsmith since he was the one selling the weapons that I made. We had started doing that to procure goods we needed. We had created some dragon armor for him made from his dragon scales. His dragon grew very fast for some reason.
"Lets grab our gear and go." I called as I went to my room. It was carved into the rock so much that it had a balcony, on the inside there were shelves carved into the rock for holding stuff along with the bed. I went over to the shelf by the bed and grabbed my armor.
I went out into the main cave. I saw that patch was in his Titan form and said. "We should probably leave him here since he will be going into his egg form soon." To this Scribbler responded. "I am pretty sure that you can do this on your own anyway so I will stay here with him ok."
"Yeah." I say and me and Toothless take off. We follow the dragons all night and I see some of them carrying prey and follow those. When we reach their destination we investigate seeing a dragon bigger than 2 Great halls.
The dragon notices us so we fly off in the end it eats a Zippleback and we get away. We manage to get home and we tell Scribbler what we saw.
Patch indeed had gone back to an egg so we will wait until he is able to fly.
Astrid Pov:
It has been a few weeks since the incident at the school. The Headmaster and Askeladd are still with us. We are heading out on a trip through Helheim's gates. We found out only a Dragon can find the nest.
As we are heading in we are hearing blasts in the direction that we are going. When we come in sight of the nest Gobber says. "Mother of Thor!" I look at where he is and see a massive Dragon twice the size of the great hall.
It seems to be fighting something but all I can hear is whistling. I look and see a Nightfury, I know I have seen it before though I can't remember where. We stay back as the big Dragon fly's up after it.
We look but can't see anything until a bunch of bright purple flashes. The giant dragon then breaths fire everywhere and the Nightfury dives. Its tail seems to be on fire.
Just as it is nearing it turns and shoots the giant dragon making it go up in flames. As the Nightfury fly's away it gets hit by the dragons bludgeon like tail. Falling into the flames we are sure it is dead.
We go up close to inspect as we see someone run into the flames as someone shouts at them. "Do you want to be killed by the flames!"
We watch and see him and a Dragon helping the other Dragon and what seems to be a person. We try to follow but after a quick glance from one they head deeper into the fire.
"Quick after them!" Stoick yells and we go around. When we get around it we see the figure that ran in, in a fighting stance directed at us. I look behind and see someone smoking along with 2 other dragons. One is a Nightfury and the other unknown.
"Who are you?" Stoick calls and the Figure says. "I am the Nightsmith, what do you want?"
"We came here to get rid of the nest, but found you." Stoick says. "Well consider it done, because that is why we are here. We found this place a few weeks ago but had to prepare. Now if you will excuse me I have to go." Nightsmith says.
He starts to back up and tells his dragon to do something. I notice that the Nightfury is up and the unknown puts the other person on him. "He needs treatment, you won't find it easy without a healer." I say but it doesn't catch him offguard.
"I know, but do you really think that he is burnt? Sure he may have broken bones but he knows how to take care of himself." Nightsmith says.
"He has to be burnt, we couldn't even get close and he fell into it without protection." I say hoping to win the argument.
"You want proof that he isn't burnt, then here." The Nightsmith says as he removes the persons armor on his arm. It is completely unscathed. "How?" I ask.
"Nightfury scales are excellent fire and shock absorbers. Now if you will excuse us we have to go." He says as he gets on his Dragon. "By the way, when I was with your heir Hiccup at school, in case he didn't return he left an axe in a rock by his bed." The Nightsmith says as he fly's off.
We precede to head home, but first we stop at the School. When we get there it is mostly burnt, from when I was there before I find my way to Hiccups hut and grab the stone and take it back to the ship.
When we get back Stoick informs the village of the trip and surprisingly nobody can get the axe out of the rock. How did he get in in there, and how is that man.
