บท 26: Chapter 26: The betrayal
As she dreamt of her past, Cuifen was whining miserably in her dreams. Her trauma was so real as if the whole world has gone crashing down upon her head.
In her dream, she was holding her chest unable to bear the pain of betrayal. In her eyes, she saw the cold expression of her lover Lijun. It was crystal clear.
He didn't even give her an explanation. Does that mean that Meilein and he were getting married for real?! That they were dating each other behind her back?!
Cuifen was left shattered by all the unbelievable things that have happened.
She wasn't able to take on the harsh reality that was presented to her.
It was as if all her dreams came crashing down into pieces.
She was crying her heart out there alone in the corner.
Every office employee that passed by were staring and watching her in amusement.
Some were even poking fun while looking at her. They were entertained to see the famous actress, Cuifen in that drastic state.
Time seems to stop the moment for Cuifen, as she cried her eyes out, her eyes were filled with the blackish, smokey colour of the eyeliner. It turned up into a huge mess.
Some of the female employees, even capture her face in that bizarre state.
While she was lost in it, her manager impatiently came to her and wrapped her coat onto her head, covering most of her face.
With it, she grabbed Cuifen by her shoulder and hissed her in panicked, "Cuifen, grab a hold of yourself. Remember this is the company, people are watching!"
Cuifen's devastated eyes turned to look at the manager while she help to hold her up.
She was then dragged out from the place.
As the two fled the spot, the people continue to take pictures of her.
It was so unexpected to witness the messy face of the famous actress that the Internet was exploded with her pictures.
It was circulating and spreading fast on every website.
People were criticising her, making fun of her looks, mocking her appearance.
Some of the fans of Meilein even dissed her calling her a slut that tries to seduce the young Ceo of the Oak Company.
The manager dropped off Cuifen in her hotel room. She advised her to take a rest at home that she will take care of everything.
With it, Cuifen's lifeless face stared blankly at the Manager.
Unable to bear to see her in that mess, the manager spoke up caringly, "Take care of yourself, okay?!"
With it being said, she left Cuifen alone in her hotel room.
Cuifen closed the door and went back to her sofa. She then turned on the t.v.
There it came the breaking news of her crying in despair. Then appeared the news of the engagement ceremony of Lijun with Meilein.
They were smiling and cutting the cakes with all their family members standing by their side.
Cuifen's mind went blank by it. She was left dumbstruck at seeing it all.
They made the engagement just like that?!
Everything happened so absurd and so sudden that she wasn't able to think anymore.
The love she had for Lijun was quickly made to turn into hatred. Life seems to be a joke for her at the moment.
She hates to see him smiling while she was crying there in suffering.
The two of them were smiling at each other as if nothing had happened.
Was Lijun's heart that solid rock all this time?! Was it all fake love all this time?!
So he does not love me but was pretending to love me all this time?! That he only loves Meilein?!
So many questions were encircling around Cuifen's mind.
She hates to see him acting as if nothing has happened. He was grinning handsomely with Meilien by his side.
Unable to bear to see it anymore, Cuifen turned off the T.V.
She felt as if she was a living joker.
Everyone was now dissing her behind her back. It seems as if she was getting punishment for trusting Lijun for loving him with all her heart.
It made her feel so stupid like a living clown where everyone can joke around and make fun of.
Loving Lijun made her feel the most horrendous thing in the world.
Because that he betrayed her and discarded her in front of the whole public, Cuifen felt worthless.
She felt dreadful as if the whole world were plotting against her, plotting her downfall.
With her messy face being viral on the internet, her image was completely shattered.
She would not be able to show her face in the public anymore.
It makes her feel as if she has done a huge sin to love Lijun with all her heart.
While she was having it hard, the whole world seems to be laughing at her.
There were memes of her spreading around the internet. All her partnerships have been called off, she was discarded as soon as she was found useless by the companies.
She was taken off from being the brand ambassadors of various corporations.
Life was hitting hard on her.
Cuifen felt as if she was walking alone into a living hell. With all the people mocking her, making fun of her, her pure innocent heart was now stained with the filthy lies of the people.
As she was curling on the couch, all alone by herself, she was sobbing in dismay.
The dream was so vivid and real that the present Cuifen was too crying on her couch.
Streams of tears kept rolling down from her eyes.
It was so heart wrenching to see that forlorn cry of Leina.
Unable to see it anymore, Shuzo stood up and took out the wet wipes.
He then bend before her and was staring at her closely.
He helps to wipe out her tears.
While he was on it, Cuifen immediately grabbed his hands in her dream and growled heartbreakingly, "Lijun! Why did you do it?! Why did you betray me?!"
Tears keep rolling down from her eyes that Shuzo was gawking at her unbelievably.
What's up with his sister?! Why is she acting so bizarre?!
Believing that Leina must be having a bad dream, Shuzo slowly took out his hands from Leina's grip.
He then grabbed the remote which was on the side and push the button on the wall.
With it, he made the system of the room to play the sweet calming flute music.
It was so calm like a cool breeze that Cuifen finally stopped crying.
She was then sleeping with ease.
